As a long time runner I seek out books like this. This one did not to point. The benefits of running our endless but one of the main benefits is the adrenaline it gives you the dopamine and brain clarity. Running is like its own drug. This book was the perfect medicine I recommend it for runners and beginning runners alike.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this book ahead of publication.

I confess this book disappointed me. While obviously very well researched I found there was too much "why cavemen ran" followed up with the author waxing eloquent about his own running experiences. Nothing that I, as a runner, could really relate to or find useful.

I had a hard time getting into this book. What I thought would be a book more focused on the scientific principles of why running makes us happier turned out to be a memoir-ish title with the science coming in as second fiddle. The author does include a lot of good scientifically based information, but for me there was too much other random stuff mixed in.
