Although I enjoyed this book I found the ending unsatisfying. It was an exciting read with a lot of suspense but I just felt underwhelmed by the way the author wrapped it up. That may just be my personal opinion on who should have done it and I would definitely be interested in reading another by Karen Cole!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this ARC.
4 Stars!
Highly recommend.
It was hard to put this book down. It was a fast paced story full of suspense.
Abby is pregnant, quite a surprise as Abby hasn’t had sex.....or has she, against her will??
I was hooked from the first chapter.
This debut from Karen Cole is a great book.

I was so intrigued by the synopsis of this book. However, my intrigue was lost after I started reading. Although I wanted to know how Abby came into the circumstances that she was in, the book wasn't has hooking as I would have liked. It didn't feel like a "thriller" to me, and I found myself bored through much of the book. I wasn't feeling the ending and the revelation of the one who caused Abby's circumstances, either. All in all, this book just fell flat for me.

What would you do if one day you were suddenly pregnant but had not been with a man in a year’s time?

This is exactly what happens to the main character of Deliver Me, Abby.

Based on her timeline, she thinks she could have conceived sometime around New Year’s. But the problem is she has NO idea who the father could be.

As if matters were not complicated enough, she now has a stalker.

This was a fun type of “whodunnit” book which wrapped up neatly in the end. I enjoyed reading it, but I never quite felt attached to any characters and felt it was a bit too long for the given story.

This novel has an interesting premise. Abby finds out she is pregnant but hasn’t slept with anyone in the past year. She remembers going to a New Year’s Eve party where she got drunk but doesn’t have a full recall of what happened. She begins to believe she was raped and that it was someone at the party she went to. As Abby begins to talk with the men that were at the party, she also begins to receive creepy messages and gifts from someone who is stalking her. Abby begins to irrationally accuse several of these men of raping her. This was the beginning of my dislike for this character, and where I think the book just got off track. While I was invested to see how it turned out, I was disappointed. The identity of who the stalker was didn’t make sense. It came out of left field and not in an interesting ‘wow’ way, but more in a confused ‘huh?’ manner. The ending fell completely flat for me.
Thanks to NetGalley and Quercus Books for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Deliver Me by Karen Cole

Abby goes to the doctor because she’s not feeling well. To find out she‘s pregnant!! How exciting, or not? She’s confused because it can’t be! She hasn’t had sex in over a year. The doctor is clearly mistaken. But tests prove she is!

She thinks about the party she went to hosted by her best friend Danny on New Years! She can’t remember much about that night. She does remember the massive hangover the next day. What happened that night? Was it consensual? Was she Drugged? Rape? Was she targeted?

Abby receives gifts and anonymous letters. Is someone stalking her now? Why?

Abby finally finds the courage to confide in her sister, Ellie. She’s been afraid to tell Ellie as she lost a baby and worries how she will react.

Abby tries to figure out who the father could be.

A definite different story line, I really liked it! Had my attention the entire book!! Karen Cole is also a new author to me and I look forward to reading her previous books and look forward to new books she releases! A good read!! Had me guessing and wondering the entire time. I did feel it was a little repetitive at times and wasn’t a huge fan at how she jumped out and accused the guys of rape. But completely understand that added to the story line and was able to get past it.

Thank you Karen Cole, Quercus (US) and NetGalley for the advance copy to read in return for my honest review!

A totally unique plot, well developed characters, many twists and turns and nonstop action make Deliver Me, the debut thriller by Karen Cole, a must read.

How can Abby be pregnant? It’s impossible but…remember that New Year’s Eve party? The one where she drank so much that she has virtually no memories of most of the evening? It must have been that night. Helped by her best friend Danny, she pieces together a list of men she was alone with that night and begins to investigate each of them to see if she can find the father-to-be. There’s an older married man, a typical bad boy type, a fellow teacher, a world traveler and others. Then Abby starts to receive odd gifts and threatening anonymous notes. Nervous and frightened, she confides in her sister Elizabeth who desperately wants a child of her own. Abby doesn’t realize that she and Elizabeth are caught in an unbelievable, evil trap.

Deliver Me pulls you in from the first chapter. It’s fast paced and totally compelling. Make sure you set aside enough time to read to the last page because you will not be able to put it down. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Quercus (US) and Karen Cole for this ARC.

Deliver Me is a gripping psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell’s Watching You and Lesley Kara’s The Rumour.
When Abby’s doctor tells her she’s two months pregnant she doesn’t believe him. She can’t be – she hasn’t had sex for over a year. But to her astonishment and dismay, multiple tests confirm it’s true.
Desperately searching for an explanation, Abby recalls New Year’s Day – the terrible hangover, the hole in her memory where the night before should have been and the inexplicable sense of unease – and realizes that this baby must have been conceived at her best friend Danny’s NYE party.
Horrified that someone would have taken advantage of her intoxicated state, Abby enlists the help of Danny to find out which of the party guests assaulted her. But, when she starts to receive anonymous messages, it seems that while she has been looking into the father of her baby, someone has been watching her…

I loved this book, it was unlike anything I’ve ever read before. I was literally on the edge of my seat reading parts.

This book was all over the place, it meandered and none of the characters were distinct from each other. The ending made no sense and I didnt care- I was just happy it was over
