I always love picking up a Jen Turano novel because I know I will be laughing by the end of page one! This novel follows the feisty Daphne, who is the perfect kind of strong independent heroine. I love how the author writes such strong female characters, and I find myself cheering for Daphne’s career, romance, and, of course, for her to solve the mystery. The twists and turns intermixed with the sparing between Daphne and Herman easily kept my attention and made it hard to put the book down! My favorite moments, too, are when the plot slows enough for the characters to reflect and grow, with great spiritual truths applicable to my own life. I love the subtle tie-ins to other books in the series, although this novel stands well on its own. I most highly recommend this book!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

A late 19th-century ladies detective agency, and Daphne is over the top. She backs into clues that had me giggling.

I love love love Jen Turano's book and was so excited to dive into Daphne's story!
She is such an entertaining chracter in the first book with her propensity to faint when faced with danger. So, obviously Herman would doubt her suitability to uncover if anyone is trying to muder him...
Yet, the eccentric Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency might just be the perfect group to help him live his own adventure for once rather than only writing about them.

Jen Turano's books are always a breath of fresh air in the otherwise crowded genre of historical romance. Her screwball-comedy spin on the genre never fails to deliver plenty of laughs as well as heart. Always recommended!

To Write a Wrong was written by Jen Turano, and is the second book in The Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency. It is not necessary to have read the first book in order to enjoy this one, but I do recommend the first one as it is a great read.

Summary: Daphne Beekman writes mystery novels, and helps out at The Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency on occasion. She doesn’t normally take on cases herself (preferring to work behind the scenes), but when a handsome mystery writer stumbles into the office late one night during a storm claiming someone is out to kill him, she is intrigued. Surely she can solve the mystery, and maybe come up with a way to fix her current writer’s block at the same time?

My Thoughts: I enjoyed this book very much. I love Jen Turano’s characters as they are delightfully quirky and get themselves into all sorts of mischief throughout her books. This book is well-written, enjoyable to read, has a good plot, and a mystery gets solved in the end. I liked it!

I would like to thank Bethany House for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

I know I’ve said it before but I truly adore Jen’s witty dialogue and spunky heroines.
Daphne and Herman were nothing short of precious. They were two peas in a pod made for one another.
The storyline itself was fun, mysterious and exciting. Moved at at a great pace and kept me well entertained.
Thanks to Bethany House and Netgalley for the copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

Second book in this series. Not a bad book, but typical of this author’s style it’s mostly dialogue. When books are like that, I tend to not connect as much to the characters and skim the large amount of the dialogue because of lot of it just isn’t that interesting. Other than that, the plot is interesting and filled with a lot of action.

To Write a Wrong is the second installment from Jen Turano's The Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency series. It gives me another reason why this author is among my favorites. I really enjoyed it. I loved it!
Five stars.

I genuinely love every book I have ever read by Jen Turano, but To Write a Wrong is my absolute favorite to date. This book is excellent. This is another one of those stories I just couldn’t put down. The pacing is superb. I really love how Turano crafts her dialogue — always so witty and funny and so fast-paced. I chuckled the whole way through this marvelous story. The mystery is fun, too. I thoroughly enjoyed watching as a household full of best-selling mystery authors work to figure out what’s going on with Herman and determine who Daphne truly is. It’s fun to see authors plan and research and discourse. I feel like Turano gives us readers a sort of picture of what it’s like when authors get together and plot. There is SO much to love about this book, but for me, I would have to say it’s the characters who I enjoyed the most. Herman is a spectacular hero. He’s literally my dream guy — creative, erudite, attentive, and protective. I love how he pays close attention to the details, how he sees Daphne for the gem she is, and how his innate protectiveness arises whenever Daphne is in any sort of trouble. When a man is willing and able to destroy the thing that hurt his girl, like an instinct he can’t stop, my heart melts. A protective man is so swoonalicious to me. Daphne is marvelous in her own right. She is SO funny and courageous (even though she doesn’t think so) and bold. And, I love how her mind works … she’s all over the place, but it really does make sense what she comes up with. I also enjoy her feistiness, her fire, her fight. She’s amazing, and she is the perfect heroine to Herman’s hero!

To Write a Wrong by Jen Turano is another Historical Rom-Com masterpiece. I loved every minute spent with this story and I cannot wait to get to book 3. If you are in the mood for a delightfully funny and super sweet Historical Romance, definitely make sure to add this book to your TBR list. You won’t be disappointed you did!

I received a review copy of this novel in eBook form from the publisher, Bethany House Publishers, via NetGalley. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I tried to like this. I really did. The cover drew me in immediately and it looked so cute. But it turned out the main character was way too quirky for me and she talked SO.MUCH. I realize she was supposed to be witty, but it just fell flat for me. I ended up DNF'ing the book when I realized I was doing whatever I could to avoid reading.

Opening a Turano book is always a mix of knowing what to expect and also having no idea what is coming! You know there will be humor, hijinks, and a special brand of charming ridiculousness that only Jen Turano can pull off, but there’s just no way to guess how it will play out!
This particular book took a little bit of time to pick up speed at least for me. I felt that not a lot was happening in the first half but the pace definitely sped up some for the second half and finished well!
The main characters were both writers and bookish types which is always fun as a reader to have something major in common with the heroine and/or hero! Daphne and Herman intrigued each other from the start and it was fun to watch their relationship play out!
There was a full cast of supporting characters and lots of amusing, what I call “Turano quirks”, sprinkled amongst them to make for lots of entertaining moments!
So all in all, despite the slow start, this was another Turano win!

This is the first book I've read by Jen Turano and I loved it! The witty banter and the relationship development between Daphne and Herman was perfect and had me laughing often. The mystery aspect of the plot kept me on the edge of my seat and was very well balanced with the romance. I will definitely be reading more of Turano's books!

To Write a Wrong is a funny story. To be sure, it is a mystery but it is a humorous one. Daphne and Herman make quite a pair as they play off each other in the quest to find whomever is trying to kill Herman. In the end, the Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency, the mystery is finally solved. This book is just right for the young or young at heart who don't mind the constant references by the heroine to her "swooning" at the drop of a hat. Jen Turano is an experienced writer who knows her audience and targets her writing accordingly.

Miss Daphne Beekman is a mystery writer by day, inquiry agent by night. Mr. Herman Henderson is also a mystery writer, but unlike the dashing heroes he pens, he lives a quiet life, determined to avoid the fate of his adventurous parents, who perished on an expedition when he was a child. He seeks out the services of the eccentric Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency to uncover the culprit for attempts on his life. As the list of suspects grows and sinister plots are directed Daphne's way as well, Herman and Daphne must determine who they can trust and if they can risk the greatest adventure of all: love.

This was another of the sometimes exciting, sometimes funny but always interesting books penned by Ms. Turano. From the very first, you are drawn in to the characters with a desire to find out more about them. It goes without saying that at somewhere along the line, they will move beyond the client relationship as Daphne tries to protect Herman. And that's where the guesswork comes into play on the reader's part. I found myself laughing out loud at times as the main characters interacted.

Daphne had secrets to keep and some frustrating habits when placed in situations beyond her control. As the book went along, she found the keeping of secrets beyond her control but the habits could be controlled. This is the second of the Bleecker Street books following a group of unusual women who were drawn together to form a women's inquiry agency. Ms. Turano has done a very good job of weaving in the other women in the agency along with a couple of men who are part of the scenario. I do look forward to the release of more books in the series.

I would like to thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for my copy of the book.

When I read the first book in The Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency, I must admit Daphne's character truly intrigued me... Jen Turano is such a master at creating these quirky characters that are endearing and hilarious, and Daphne is perhaps her best yet. As such, I absolutely could not wait to read her story in To Write a Wrong. I am happy to say that this story did not disappoint. I loved it each and every mishap she found herself in as she tried to unravel the mystery of who was trying to kill mystery writer Herman. Of course, the romance between the two writers was fantastic as well... giving me just the perfect blend of romance, mystery and humor... really, there was nothing about this story that I didn't enjoy! Jen Turano's stories are always such a joy to experience, and this one truly might be my favorite yet. I cannot wait to see what the ladies at the Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency get up to next!

**I received a complimentary copy of this book for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Loved this book! It was funny and entertaining. I smiled a lot while reading this book! Daphne is quite the character. She is down to earth and quirky which gives her an air of charm. She would be someone I'd wnt to be friends with. From the moment she met Herman, I knew it would be fun to watch them interact. I liked most of the characters. They were all well written and easy to picture what they looked like in my mind. I enjoyed all the writing comments and conversations especially about poetry. I thought the mystery of who was trying to harm Herman was well done and kept you guessing throughout the book. I love the whole Bleecker street inquiry Agency and how they solve crimes and help the women of their day. This book is a refreshing story set during the Recency era.I can't wait to read the next one. I recommend this book to my family and friends. I voluntary reviewed a copy of this book which I received d from the publisher. All views ex.

Official title: To Write a Wrong
My title: Writers Fiasco
Author: Jen Turano
Publisher: Bethany House Publishers
Fav character: Herman (Super chill)
Type: Book - Series
3.5/5

First few pages: I don’t know her name, but she’s annoying. 🤣 Poor thing 🤦. An attempted murder mystery of many suspects but few viable options. A novel peppered with romance, women’s rights, family bonds, adventure and greed.

Daphne is an inquisitive young lady who often suffers from the vapours, an inability not to ramble on, athletic incompetence and is a successful writer. Given the setting of the book, this is most unusual and required her to ‘run away from home’ in order to avoid a marriage she did not want and to pursue her career.

Herman is also a writer, a rival of sorts, who turns up one day at the ….. Inquiry Agency to see if they will take on his case. After almost being run over by a carriage a few times and several other incidents, he is convinced someone is out to unalive him. Daphne decides to take on his case and so the adventure begins.

By inviting Daphne into his inner circle of friends and family Herman believes they can ferret out the would be killer. Things however, do not go smoothly as Daphne puts her skills and sensitive nerves to the test. More attempts will come, friendships will be unravelled and Daphne and Mildred will have to come to terms to keep Herman safe.

Be prepared for many backstories hitting you as you begin this journey, followed by banter, assumptions and a budding romance. We’ll meet both families and find out secrets that have long been hidden.

To Write a Wrong is the second book in The Bleeker Street Inquiry Agency series written by Jen Turano. The author delivers again with a witty and humorous tale set in the late 1800s involving a cast of characters from the boarding house on Bleeker Street.
Daphne Beekman makes her living as a mystery writer under a different name because women writers were frowned upon. She is at a quandary as to how to write a scene within her next book and finds that she needs a prop from the Agency office, just down the street. She neglects to lock the door and Herman Henderson walks into the agency, scaring her. She finds that he wants to hire the agency because he thinks someone is trying to murder him.
Herman is also a mystery writer and one that Daphne has read. Together, in a variety of mishaps and circumstances, they try to find out why someone wants to murder him. They use the skills of the others from the boarding house to solve this mystery with its many twists and turns that only Turano can write.
I was given a free copy of this book for review and the opinion is my own. #To Write a Wrong #TheBleekerStreetInquiryAgency #JenTurano

A delightful read! This book keeps you laughing at Daphne’s antics and the banter between characters. The mystery of who is trying to murder Herman and why brings another exciting element to this book. The combination of the humor, mystery, and romance between Daphne and Herman makes this book intriguing and enjoyable to read. For those who have read any of Jen Turano’s books will love this book just as much as her others. For those who haven’t picked up any of her books before, you are missing out. Pick this one up and you will want to read all of her books.
