This is a beautiful daily devotional book that focuses on anxiety and fears and learning to rely on the Lord. I enjoyed the scripture passages and the advice accompanying it. Trust in God and relying on Him will decrease our anxiety. However, I felt some devotions were not really appropriate for people who may have major depression and chronic anxiety as they could lead the person to believe they're either not good enough or not trusting enough and that is why they are still struggling with these issues. I would suggest this devotional for those who experience anxiety on occasion and not chronically to help give them strength and comfort.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Netgalley and this is my honest review.

I absolutely love Daily Devotions for the Anxious Heart by the Barbour Staff! Daily Devotions for the Anxious Heart has 365 devotional entries to help encourage you during the ups and downs of life. Each devotion entry has a Bible verse and a thought that corresponds with Bible verse. I really enjoyed this book and it ministered to me during my devotion time. I highly recommend this book and believe it will be a great encouragement to anyone who reads it. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this.

I would like to start off by saying I am not a religious person. I identify myself as more agnostic. From that, this book of devotions are short, but something I found myself relating to (not too everything, but enough). It is a very easy read overall and the tone is very calming.

I think this book will make all the readers more grateful for their circumstances and will enable them to develop an understanding of adjustments that need to be made in ones life. It soothes the soul and decreases anxiety.

This is a beautiful devotional with great verses and helps with anxiety. My favorite thing about it is the devotionals are short and easy to fit in every day, and they're labeled 'day 1, day 2' etc and not dated January 1st so you can start it whenever you choose!

This book would make a perfect gift for a bridal shower or for friends/family in general. Scripture grounds each devotion with delightful priority. The simple and smooth diction/style of this gem appeals to teens and seniors. I really enjoyed this treasure.

I think that this and 180 Bible Verses for Conquering Anxiety would be well paired together or done separate. I did like that this one has a devotion for each day. Additionally I enjoyed how some of the verses and discussion also have a daily task to help connect with God more and really focus on him during this time. I also highly recommend this one for anyone going through a stressful time. I think the author did a great job relating to the verse and sharing stories that the readers can relate to.

Wow! This book is a wonderful little gem consisting of beautiful pages and, more importantly, the uplifting and comforting words of The Lord. browsing through these pages and passages I found several that hit home more than I was expecting.

Daily Devotionals for the Anxious Heart reminds us that God knows that we are weak and shaky somedays, that we are human and have faults, yet He does not hold them against us. Instead He has given us reason after reason to believe in him with all our being. One passage that especially struck me as immensely relevant to my life right now (and many of yours too, I'd imagine) reminds us of the following:

Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent
--Psalm 4:4
Immediately following this is a blurb related to that specific passage, reminding us that we need to practice saying no to anger. we will fail, but the more we practice Gods grace helps us develop new skills; Even ones we had thought impossible.
This holds true not only for anger but for every other situation that an individual may possibly have trouble with. This is just one example of so many insightful and uplifting phrases with well written content by the Barbour staff you'll find in these pages

The title is a bit misleading I believe, and I say this only because while this is perfect for someone who (like myself) may struggle with anxiety or fear, but these reminders can be applied to everyone's life. No matter what you are going through these words should be read, re-read, and kept close to your heart at all times.

I received an advance e-copy of this book from Netgalley and the wonderful Barbour Staff in order for me to provide my honest, unprompted review. A very big thank you from the bottom of my heart, for this is exactly what I needed to read right now.

Though I read through the e-copy I will be purchasing a physical copy on my own accord when possible and I highly recommend you do the same. I feel like this is one that will have a greater impact as a physical object you can see on your shelf or carry with you when needed, while also being easier (I believe) to use as a form of healing along with a notebook.

I really like this daily devotional book. It is truly inspirational and comforting but imbedded in it's words are pokes of challenge and conviction which could spur one on to greater relationship with, and hope in, our Heavenly Father, and growing in grace. The thoughts and sentiments will nourish the souls and spirits of God's daughters everywhere. References to God's grace are sprinkled throughout and noted in such delightful expressions as, "daily stream of grace" (Day 78) and "rest on His grace" (Day 260).

Within the pages adorned with lovely pastel-hued flowers, are: a verse-a-day (for 365 days), taken from various translations and paraphrases of the Bible, coupled with 'words of wisdom'. The messages are short but sweet making this a great book for an end or coffee table, or a bedside table and lend to lasting, quick dips per day 'supplements'. The book's "caboose" is a Scripture Index denoting the various verses as seen on particular days, arranged according to chronology of the books of the Bible. These words of inspiration will certainly turn hearts towards the Lord, and others. Truly a worthwhile 'pick-me-up' to have handy.

Daily Devotions for the Anxious Heart is for “anxious” people, yet the days are named by day 1, day 2, etc. instead of February 1, February 2 which is kind of funny since I don’t want to start reading one of the days and then notice that I already read that the day before, I guess that’s something to be anxious about now. Overall it is easy to read, and it is “soothing” in a way. The days I read were calming and talking about “look how far you have come,” etc. and it feels like a nice treat at the end of the day. In addition, the cover and the color of the pages are gorgeous.

This is a beautiful book! The devotions are short but they carry a punch. I used this book in my daily bible study and looked up the verse in my bible. I'm not a fan of the versions used in this book. This book would make a beautiful gift. Thank you Barbour Publishing via NetGalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Daily Devotions for the Anxious Heart provides quick and powerful scripture and meditations to help us face our daily troubles with clear, concise Godly wisdom. It is full of great little nuggets to help us remember that God is our anchor and refuge and in Him, we don't need to fear.

This book would not be helpful for those with extreme anxiety, but for those who struggle with run-of-the-mill daily worries, it is great.
