This had me gripped despite the predictable plot line. However, overall the story stretched my suspension of disbelief a bit too far. I admit I was a bit disappointed in the twist but not because it was predictable. I felt it was all a bit slapdash and rushed and we didn't get much of a denouement once.

Though if you're looking for a summer beach read, it's good ole popcorn fun. Well, if fun for you is a twisted mystery, which it is for me!

Nanny Needed was certainly a surprise! A young woman, Sarah, applies for a job as a Nanny even though she has no nanny experience. As part of her employment, she agrees to an NDA clause after all the family is very important and wealthy. But as it turns out this is not your typical nanny position. Things are strange in the beginning and become more strange every day. Sarah tries to quit but because of the terms, she signed it is impossible to get out of her position. The conclusion is so mind-boggling. A twist that you never saw coming. For a great suspense, mystery novel read Nanny Needed.

Wow! Where do I start? This story was amazing and I read it in a day. I could not put it down except to go to sleep. Sarah and her fiance Jonathan live together in a tiny apartment and it is clear they dearly love each other. They have many debts and have put aside their plans for school until they can somewhat clear some of the debt. Sarah had lived with her Aunt Clara and much of the debt was due to Clara’s medical bills before she passed away. Sarah spots a flyer in the lobby of their building, an ad looking for a nanny. The salary is way above her current earnings. She does get the job, signs a contract without reading it and here starts the twisty dark journey. The story was so intense and gripping and I hated to see it end. I loved it!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a fun thriller! Solid 4-star book with an ending that I never expected! This book gave you clues all throughout but even an avid mystery reader like me missed them. I thought it was wrapped up nicely and all the characters had a personality of their own. I would recommend this book.

I couldn't put this down for about 85% of the book. I was on the edge of my seat and dying to find out what was going on with this strange family, The Birds. The author did a fabulous job of creating a slow burn. Then it just ended.... The big twist came out and then that's it... done. This could have easily been a five star for me, but the ending just fell too flat. I wish the ending had matched the bulk of the story a little more.

Thank you for my ARC,NetGallery and Random House. I found Nanny Needed by Georgina Cross most interesting and kept me up reading into the early hours of the day trying to figure out how the story was going to evolve into. It seemed at first like a ghost story than more like a horror story with it’s twists and turns. I won’t go in to premise which you can read from other reviewers but I would highly recommend. Being a movie buff,I can easily see this being made into even a series.

This was a creepy thriller. Rich family needs a new nanny for their child. Mom’s got issues that the rest of the family has dealt with for quite some time. Vague history for former nannies. It finally all comes to a head:

I felt like some of it was predictable but there were twists and and an unexpected ending. The writing style made it easy to read and I finished it quickly because I just had to know how it ended.

Thank you to Random house and NetGalley for the ARC!

Loved this book. Sarah Larsen answered an ad for a Nanny. She needs money because she and her fiance are drowning in debt. Little did she know what she was walking into. I feel that the author did a great job at conveying what craziness the "nanny" had to go through. I am not sure I liked the ending and would have liked more development of Collette the mother. It felt a bit rushed in the end.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read Nanny Needed by Georgina Cross

Wow! What a ride! When you think things couldn’t get weirder, Cross sends you on a rollercoaster through Crazytown that moves so fast you can’t see the twists, turns, and loops coming! Sarah is easy to get behind and adore; her plight is relatable. From the very beginning, you’re on her side. This was just such a fun book that kept me on the edge of my seat!

I was conflicted about this book. Were there good decisions made? Bad decisions? Was everyone a victim? Was everyone a villain? And why can the culprit NEVER just stay quiet and let someone else get blamed for their crimes, especially when the other person has been dead for years and has no way of coming back to cook your goose? I am not sure who I am actually cheering for! I did not expect all the twists and turns of this book, but I also do not know if I particularly enjoyed it. I definitely would not read it again now that I know how it ends and it holds no secrets.

I received an ARC from NetGalley, but my opinions are all mine.

A thrilling, captivating and easy read that sucks you in right off the bat. There's so many twists, some predictable, but the ending is worth sticking it out for. No spoilers-I suspected it, but the author did a great job bringing everything together. Smart, sharp writing with characters that seem larger than life but really, there's bits of their personalities from IRL New Yorkers. Loved it!

Cover art: Love the look! If I had a physical copy, I would display this on my shelves. I have 4 bookshelves of hardcovers and this is visually pleasant

This story has everything needed for a perfect plot: poor, drowning in debt young girl desperate for an extra income. Rich family with a dirty little secret.

From the beginning of the book, I was very confused why the family has hired some random girl with no experience to care for neither a child nor an unstable adult. This fact bothered me so much throughout the book. I was hoping an author will have a good explanation at the end of the book... and she did. Everything made sense as the end. And even more... Just when I almost gave up on the story and thought - here we go, yet another sappy unrealistic happy ending. And BAM, Georgine Cross surprised me again. I literally applauded at the end of the last chapter. Way to go! In my reading experience - it's hard to come across a good, strong, not-so-happy but satisfying closure at the end of the novel.

I read a lot of books, and ofter find myself reading similar plots written by different authors. It was very refreshing to find a book with a different type of ending. This is my first book by Georgina Cross, and I am impressed by her style of writing. I am considering reading her previous novels as well. This was a super-fast, intriguing, and thrilling read. Thank you NetGalley and Bantam Publisher for a free and advanced copy of the novel.

Sarah is down on her luck - working at a trendy restaurant in the East Village, trying to make ends meet. One afternoon she sees an ad posted for a nanny needed. The ad was vague but the address is a ritzy one and Sarah believes this might be her way out of debt. After meeting with the mother and getting the job, Sarah starts to realize that there are a lot more oddity's to her new family than she initially noticed and when a big secret is revealed, Sarah doesn't know if the money is worth the trouble.

This was a stellar read! Though I did uncover the twist earlier than it was revealed, the storyline kept me invested. All of the characters had creepy undertones and it felt like everyone was keeping secrets and twisting truths. What I will say is that the ending had me SHOOK. You'll never see it coming and it really tied the entire book together for me. This is a must read for the fall season!

First, I want to thank Georgina Cross, Bantam, Penguin Random House and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! Georgina Cross’s Nanny Needed is one of the most twisted, creepy, and has the most shock value of any book she has ever written! This by far is my favorite that she has written!! She just blew me away with her cryptic storyline! It is a must read for anyone who loves psychological thrillers as much as I do!

Georgina Cross would love to dedicate this book to Nicole Angeleen. Without her friendship and insight, Nanny Needed wouldn't be the book it is today.

I absolutely loved the cover design that Dana Leigh Blanchette created! Great job!

Ohh Sarah this was not your average Nanny job OH NO!! Far from it actually! Sarah and fellow readers will realize why you must always read the fine print when signing documents!!

As much as it was insanely twisted, intense, mysterious, suspenseful and oh so creepy it was incredibly sad too! My heart couldn’t help but to ache for all that Collete had been through and parts were hard to read due to that.

Georgina kept me totally engaged as she is an incredible story teller! How she came up with this storyline I would just love to know!

Nanny Needed as the book progressed it got more and more intense and yet heartbreaking at the same time.

This is one book that I would kill to see on NetFlix or The Lifetime Channel as It would get a huge audience!! One thing for sure is this will be a best seller for Georgina!!

What a book! I am so grateful to Random House Publishing for granting my wish. It showed the dark side of the way the upper echelon lives, and their complex relationship with their home staff. The main character definitely had no idea what was waiting for her behind the gilded facade!

This novel shocked me at the end. 🖤🖤 The last nanny’s time is up. The Bird family needs a new nanny, and Sarah Larsen needs another job. Her Aunt always told stories of her days living in the city, before she took over care of Sarah, when her parents died. The reality of NYC quickly sets in, expensive rent, expensive food, expensive everything, and they both have debt. Sarah works as a waitress to cover the costs, and if she can just get out of debt, she could finally change her life and go to Fashion school. Magically, an ad for a Nanny appears in the lobby of her building. The family is rich, lives on the upper west side, and wants for nothing, well almost nothing. The job seems easy… so what’s the catch? It’s weird that she doesn’t see the little girl during the initial interview, but she supposes she’s shy. “Discretion is of the utmost importance.” But why?
