The delightful newest entry in the special Monkey with a Tool Belt Series by author-illustrator Chris Monroe, Chico Bon Bon and friends exemplify the true spirit of Christmas love as the friends individually and collectively work, help, and celebrate Christmas cheer and companionship! Heartwarming children's tale with lots of illustrations and text.

This is an absolutely delightful book and would make the perfect gift for children above the age of 3....and their parents! The illustrations are beautiful and intricate , and it's just about challenging enough as well, for kids to start reading slightly harder books. I particularly appreciate the Christmas message, it's meant to be a festival more about goodwill and happiness, and not merely about commerce and capitalism. That's brought about very subtly though, and it isnt preachy at all. Highly recommended.

My first look at this series showed it to be the least taxing drama of a monkey and his hobbies out there – he's sledding with his elephant friend (don't ask) when they find a mountain of trash in the woods, he takes it home and before you can read what he's got in his tool-belt that day he's bashed everything into a perfect present for each and every friend he has at his Christmas party. Clearly if you're a friend of Chico the monkey you like upcycling. There's not exactly any complexity to the art or the story, it's just reasonable entertainment for the young, ignoring the possibility of further discussing waste and reuse.
