Siobhan Collins is an attorney / consigliere for a Mancuso family mob don named Carlo. Siobhan grew up alongside Carlo's two daughters after her mother passed away when she was ten. Carlo saw to it that Siobhan received a good education. Following law school she returned to the fold to serve as his legal confidant.

FBI agent Royal Scott is ready to retire from the FBI and spend some serious time on a beach somewhere relaxing, enjoying life, and the company of women. However, she gets wrangled into one last assignment to bring down the don's illegal activities when she meets Siobhan.

This is a fast paced, well written book about two strong, confident women who are both surprised by their chemistry with each other and realize that they want more out of life than just their successful careers. I would highly recommend this book to fellow readers since it kept me reading and wondering what was going to happen next. 4.5 stars.

I received an ARC from Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Consigliere a trusted advisor...This book did not disappoint. Royal Scott is an FBI agent does most of her work undercover. After just finishing an assignment she it thrown into the Mancuso family where she meets Siobhan Collins the trusted consigliere who is also the don's lawyer.
The first meeting happens to be when Royal saves Siobhan from a truck barreling down on her. From that Royal is able to quickly meet don Carlo Mancuso and has planted herself inside the family.

There are other families trying to who appear to be trying to take down the Mancuso's. Siobhan must try and determine who she can trust while trying to keep the don safe.

As the two work together their attraction grows and their safety is threatened along the way.

This book is incredible, such a great read. And if you're a fan of Ali Vali you will enjoy the interaction Siobhan has with Ali's Casey Clan.

Highly recommend this thriller.

This is my favorite book from Carsen. Hands down. Siobhan and Royal were a perfect match for each other. Both strong, beautiful, powerful, but not overly conceited. The action was a page turner and I couldn’t wait to find out what was coming next. I loved the introduction of another author’s characters at then end and when they appeared I was all smiles. Great job!

I love lawyer books and particularly enjoyed Carsen Taite's Legal Affairs series among others by her. In a slight departure the lawyer this time works for the bad guys. Siobhan Collins is consigliere to the Mancuso crime family. Like Tom Hagen in the Godfather, she has been raised by the crime Don but doesn't have the family name. She keeps the crime syndicate out of legal trouble. Royal Scott is an undercover FBI agent sent to infiltrate the mob family. Coincidentally Royal saved Siobhan's life on the day she received the assignment.

This is a quick moving book that twists and turns. Who is trying to Kill Siobhan? Will Royal bring the family down? I'm not giving away the answers. I thought the storyline somewhat simple but the writing is excellent. I could feel the paranoia from both leads wondering who they could trust. The plotting kept me turning the pages and I read it in one evening. I did feel the ending was rushed but I liked how things turned out. This book contained minimal violence, some language and mostly off the page heat.

This book is for anyone looking for a fast paced mystery crime/thriller/romance. Thank you NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books, Inc. for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I rate books on how much I enjoy them and I absolutely enjoyed this book!

Royal Scott is an undercover cop who gets roped into one last case about the Mancuso family. She’s hired to infiltrate their illegal empire via their consigliere, Siobhan Collins who she has undeniable chemistry with.

I really needed this book, in the midst of constant dud reads and stressful schooling, it offered up a distraction.

Characters- this books focuses more on Riley than it does on Siobhan, nevertheless the author manages to successfully make her characters their own distinct personalities with interesting backgrounds.

Plot- I loved the plot and I expected nothing less than the perfect execution Carsen Taite provided.

Taite has improved greatly since the last book I read of her’s where though it was a good book she failed to keep me entertained. This book was the exact opposite of that one as it captured my attention from the very first page.

Ms Taite mentions in the acknowledgment the impression from another lesbian book writer, Ali Vali who just so happens to be another one of my favorite writers. Imagine my absolute excitement at the Cain Casey cameos! If you’re a fan of those books as well then I can only describe this book as “if Shelby loved Muriel enough”.

All in all, I highly recommend this book. Amazing storytelling that had me glued to my seat wondering what was gonna happen next. It was insanely enjoyable and the chemistry between Royal and Siobhan was instantly felt. My only complaint would be the length, I definitely would have enjoyed more scenes between the two to make me want them together more.

5 stars!

Her Consilgliere, by Carsen Taite is a great read and full of surprise characters who drop in! Loved it! Siobhan is an attorney who works for a mafia family under unusual circumstances. Siobhan is murky on her connection to the head of the family, but is considered the right hand person. This creates tension within the family with the children, so it's.a juggling act for Siobhan. Royal is an undercover agent whose brother decides to unexpectedly invite himself to crash at her place. Royal is torn between wanting to quit, but also worried about being fired, so she tries to just balance her brother's sudden arrival and going back under cover. This is where Royal meets Siobhan. I don't want to give to much away, but as Royal grows into knowing Siobhan a lot starts to unravel. Let's say there will be overtones of a theme in another book I follow that turns out to be a lovely switch of destiny. I refuse to give away to much, other than saying I wanted the Royal and Siobhan to end up in a location that was in the US based on who showed up towards the end, but still a great book!

**'Stories don't write themselves. It takes thoughts, research, knowledge, notes, skill, time and more work than any reader would believe..'

Fascinating read!
It's a rarity that whenever I do get a chance to read any new book by Carsen Taite that i'm never not satisfied or even disappointed. She's one of those writers that gets it on how to both tell a good story and appease her readers with broadening the topic plus interweaving all things pertaining to law enforcement, The justice system and a bunch of unscrupulous activities surrounding the mafia, their families and people close to them. And so this leads to the exact pace that 'HER CONSIGLIERE' follows with more surprising twists and this effortless love story embedded.
Additionally, when it comes to all of Taite's books, I think her storytelling in mystery and crime thriller are arguably her most highly regarded because of being so immensely knowledgeable in Law etc...
Her razor-sharp characterization, smart plotting, lawyering, undercover investigative procedures & techniques are reflected in this storyline also all of which are infused with this engrossing adventurous tale starting with the title -- which says a lot.
Once you finish reading 'HER CONSIGLIERE,' you will wish the storyline had more to it and might even want this book to continue into a series. The story is both compelling and at times riveting, and a one-sit read that kept me glued wondering what would happen next, from the very first chapter to the ending.
Any interested readers looking to add another book to their must-read list (and even if you're not), 'HER CONSIGLIERE' should be at the top of your choices. Highly recommended!

I think this (for me anyway) is Carsen Taite's best. Is it wrong to like (some of) the bad guys? There was not much in the way of action in it but it didn't detract from the story. There was the hint of mystery about Siobhan's past that kept my interest (although on saying that I had guessed as to what it was). The only thing I feel is that the ending was a bit rushed. It could have been extended a bit and perhaps given it a more exciting/dramatic piece before the finale. But that's just nit picking really. I did like the book.
