I don't know what I was expecting, but this was not it. To be clear, I love the idea of (focusing on and perpetuating) good news, particularly since it seems like such an uphill battle from a mainstream media perspective. I also compliment the author on tackling it. There are some sound approaches here. Maybe my expectations are too high. I just wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be, and didn't get the insights/ideas (I sincerely wish I knew what those were) I'd hoped for. A good effort nonetheless.
I really appreciate the review copy!!

This was an enjoyable and useful book about how bad news can overwhelm you, and affect your mental health, and why we should focus on good news. Urban provides plenty of evidence that there is really more good news than bad news, and suggestions to help you look for good news.
I especially liked his stories of how he emphasized the importance of good news to his students.
I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This book was a slow burn for me. I appreciate the message that EVERYTHING we choose to consume has an impact on our emotional, social, and physical states.

A pleasant book that doesn't initially seem that impressive but builds up its case for building a habit of looking for good news.
Although there are books which make this case with far more statistics this book addresses how good and bad news affects us on a personal level.
Frankly, its a nice change and using the stories of how the author worked with his students are thought-provoking. I'll remember that for when I teach children.
