As a huge fan of SL I love the world that she has created. The honey badgers are awesome. This installment did not disappoint Mad and Finn are actually a great couple. The Black
Malones are sexy and hot! I felt this story ended a bit abruptly and i wish we had had more one on one Mads and Finn time. With all that said this was a really hilarious and entertaining story. Can’t wait for more of the honey badgers!

I am always big fan of Shelly Laurenson. As usual this books was funny and wildly crazy. I is also good to see all of the past couples. This is a great time. I would highly recommend.

Another absolutely bonkers honey badger shifter book! I can't even begin to describe the plot and at this point, if you haven't read at least a few of the previous books, you are going to be rather lost. The main "couple" is Mads, a honey badger, star basketball player, and one of Max MacKilligan's black-ops crew, and Finn, an Asian tiger who along with his two brothers, is trying to investigate their father's murder after his clan refused to get involved. As always, everyone in this series is interrelated to others. As well as Mads' connection to the MacKilligans, Finn is also connected to them through his teenage half-sister (through his mom), who also happens to be Charlie, Max, and Stevie's half-sister through their father and is a honey badger shifter rather than a tiger. There are occasional cameos from the Pride series also as well as some hefty subplots involving the MacKilligan sisters. Charlie got some major screen time in this book which was a happy surprise for me.
This was a wild, fun, occasionally violent and bloody ride. In her earlier books, Shelly Laurenston did at least try to have a strong romantic subplot, but by now, she's pretty much given that up and these books are fully UF with the romance mainly an afterthought. I get so immersed in the crazysauce plots, that I can honestly say that I only miss the romance a little but if I had any complaints at all, it would be that. If you've been reading the Honey Badger chronicles from the beginning each book adds more nuance to the various characters and continues to develop the found family relationships and ties. I know I'm happy that there are more honey badger antics to come.

I love this author so much! Her books are always well written and entertaining. DeeDee was always my favorite character until the introduction of the honey badger clan. They have taken over my heart with their antics. Love Stevie, Charlie and Max. Mads and Finn make a great couple. Keane of the Black Malones needs a story.

I received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fun installment in the long running series. Though the series has changed from where it started, I like the change. They’re still crazy, but now the family’s larger and a little more crazy. Instead of focusing solely on the main characters, the badger set is more of a whole cast, continuing saga. Where pride or pack focused on the couple, the badgers all have their girls (and guys) too. The romance was fun, the main plot was awesome, and as always, I can’t wait for the next one!

Rated 4.5 Stars
I loved it. Breaking Badger was funny, action packed, fast paced, bloody and already around awesome. It was lean on the romance but still an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Yes, I highly recommend it as I do the previous books.

I really enjoy this series. The stories tend to be very character driven, and with that said, the characters are quirky, funny and over the top, which I completely enjoy.
In this particular story, we are getting the backstory for Mads (a hyena/honey badger) hybrid, and her eventual relationship with Finn (a Siberian tiger) shifter. We get hijinks galore, along with some action scenes that bordered on gory which I didn't mind, because they were tempered with some humour.
What I love about this series also is that the romance is secondary to the other relationships that are also happening in the story, whether they be familial, or friendships, which I appreciate.

This one didn't work for me at all - I didn't like the characters, the story, or the writing style. I'm usually a fan but maybe Shelly has lost a little of her mojo? :(

If you are looking for a laugh out loud funny, fast paced, action packed paranormal book, this is definitely for you. If you're looking for a romance, not so much as the romance plot felt like almost an afterthought. I very much enjoyed it regardless and I look forward to future books with the hysterically funny honey badgers.

Once again extremely funny and entertaining. I love how Shelly Laurenston can write book after book in a series and never make it feel repetitive. I get to read about my favorite characters in this world while I am are being introduced to new ones. The story never becomes cookie cutter. I do love Mads. I to have trouble understanding what constitutes someone being a friend. So another well written home run! Thank you.

Shelly has once again written an amazing story!
Breaking Badger
Mads & Finn’s story will have you guessing and wondering “What’s next!?” while holding in your laughter when in public area’s.
I was not able to contain my humor to my husbands and children’s dismay.
How the elements all came together: Mads back story as well as her love of basketball and Finn’s family wanting to avenge a tragic event from their childhood.
Her skill at bringing us snarky humor, comical interactions and intense all consuming scenes that have you incapable of putting the book down is beyond brilliant!
If you have to work please be forewarned that you may want to call in sick.

Yes. Yes . Yes! I love Shelly Writing, and there is no way I wouldn’t love this. Book. I loved everything about it and the spin off that this Badger series is. I can not wait to release to to listen to o this in audio ! I loved being able to consume this one.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
So glad there is another book with these crazy honey badgers! This time, it is Mads' story and her tough upbringing along with Finn Malone - one of the black Malones.
There is an ongoing back story that started when the MacKilligan sisters found out that there was another sister that they didn't know about who happens to be Finn's sister also. Sounds confusing but there is enough explanation that you won't feel lost if you have not read previous books in the series, but you will have to wait if you want a resolution to the Malone brothers' search for their father's killer. Throw in the new twist that they find out about Finn's sister and is it wild and unexpected!
These honey badgers are a strange lot and what a hoot - they keep you laughing and just when you think they are down for the count, they will surprise you and defeat the threat against them.
There is a slow, slow romance that starts between Finn and Mads which does get a HEA!
It is also great that we get to see some of the previous characters that I have grown to love so that was fun for me! Plus, lots of the MacKilligan sisters!!
Can't wait as we get to see more of this group and how their stories play out.

Another hilarious instalment in the crazy Honey Badger Chronicles! Sold 3.5
I no longer think of this series as romance. It's urban fantasy comedy, which is amazing! Mads and her basketball teammates are hilarious and Finn and his brothers are perfect, delightful cannon fodder for them. It took a little time to figure out who the lead characters were as the opening is a little confusing. It's Mads and Finn;).
There is a little bit of a suspense story where they are tracking down information about the brothers' father's death, but mostly the story is about found family, friendship, and what you'd do for the people you love.
It was fun to see more of Charlie, but I wish there'd been a little more of Ze. You already have an inkling of who the other two brothers are attracted to and I look forward to their stories.

It hurts me to say this but this one didn’t work for me. I always a love this author’s books, always. I just couldn’t get into it. I may try again in the future because I love this author.

This book was everything I was waiting for! Not only does this author build characters she also built a whole community. The characters that she's able to create and fully develop while still leaving so much room to grow is fantastic. it never finishes but just adds on from the previous book. Talk about keeping the audience engaged!
We learned so much about Mads and where she fits in with her group as well as her own family. Seeing her and Tate in their own elements was amazing because they are absolutely nuts in the best way.. While all that was happening we were still seeing our favorite characters the Mackilligans and their entire extended family/friends as well as the Malones. I loved seeing the girls basketball team because their family unit all on their own I really did love seeing the contrast of personalities and where everyone fit. I did wish it was tad bit longer.
The writing style is absolutely amazing without giving too much away definitely would need to read the prior books before reading this book. Otherwise will be a little lost but still throughly entertained. You will also miss some of the funny things that are referring to things in the prior books.. I definitely recommend this series as well as other Shelly Laurenston books. You won't regret it.

10! 10! 10s across the board!
I just got an ARC of Breaking Badger from NetGalley and my excitement has reached beyond the stratosphere. Anyone who follows my IG page, @RitasRandomReads, knows how much I stan Shelly Laurenston.
This book is a spin-off of a spin-off of her Pride World Series, focusing on Mads and Finn. Mads is the teammate* of a previous character,Max and Finn is the half brother of her half sister, Nat. The absolutely hilarious, yet ridiculous running jokes of "the half siblings of my half siblings" in Shelly's world never missed a beat. You don't NEED to have read previous stories to follow along, but it helps.
Mads is half hyena and half honey badger. Hyenas have been used and mentioned previously in Shelly's books, but this was a nice extra layer to their story. You get to see WHY Mads is the friend she is. You get WHY The Malones and The Black Malones don't get along. You really root for Mads and Finn. In this book, there is a lot of action and only one bow chicka wow wowwwwwwww scene, but it doesn't NEED more than one. Shelly is THAT good.
What I like about Shelly is you get INVESTED in her books. These characters are NOT real! I excitedly read this in less than 24hrs and risked eye strain returning to do so. This book, like many before it, took place both in New York and around the globe, but you FELT the chaos and the travel from the characters like you were there with them. Shelly's characters are always very relatable. This never felt like just a Mads OR Finn book. Shelly sets it up nicely with side conversations for future books.
A lot of authors use typical tropes to describe their characters and their interactions, not Shelly. Mads eats her fries one at a time, dipped in honey. Makes sense for what we know of her. With Shelly, your imagination is able to run wild picturing who the characters are and what they look like. Devout fan here and I'm still not really sure what they all look like. (See a previous post of me trying to)
The conversations they have really make you think. When Berg says "these are my triplets," but he IS 1/3 of the triplets, how is that accurate?
Now I must read this book again, because Shelly really put her back into this and left a trail of fire behind her.

I loved this story!
The MacKilligan sisters are back again as secondary characters in this wonderfully written, funny-as-hell, over-the-top story this time featuring Mads Galendotter: One of the members of Max Mackilligan's elusive basketball team/black-ops unit/robbery gang = Family
Every one of the team has part honey badger in them, which means they also have the traits that go with it. Mads just happens to also have part hyena in her as well.

The basketball team/black ops unit is tight.
They bonded in middle school and they've had each other's back ever since.
They are fearless and you do not want to piss these people off or they just might blow your house up, but not before they totally mess with you.
The dynamics of the team are great and once again, hilarious and I can't wait to read each and every one of their stories.
But more importantly, Mads and Finn's story was such a fun, and sexy-as-hell, over-the-top read!
I love how Ms. Laurenston can take a totally dysfunctional family and their "moments", and make their interactions so funny that you don't even realize that you're almost done the book because you've had so much fun getting there.
I love this series, and I'm so glad Ms. Laurenston continued with writing it with these wonderful characters.
Great read! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of reading this book!

O. M. G. I loved this book! This is the fourth book in the series and it just keeps getting better. The one liners and the laugh out loud moments…just so good. I can’t wait for the next book.

Can we say yes to more badger stories? I am so happy that we are getting more and have hope that the rest of the "teammates" (LMAO) get stories as well. Shelly Laurenston has a knack for creating a world that you just don't want to leave. These stories just suck you in and when you're done, you are left wanting more. I finished this and my first thought was time for a reread. With this story we have new additions of Max's friends, or teammates as Mads calls them. We also get some Black Malones, yep Malones meaning these are Cella's cousins. We get loads of drama, danger, violence, funny moments that had me laughing out loud to the point a tear or two leaked out, and super hot chemistry between Mads and Finn. I can't wait to see where these go next and who may possibly pair up. I give this 5 stars.
