Plot: I thought the mystery was really well done in this book! (AND I didn't figure out who the culprit was until the end, which is rare for me now, so that's a good surprise!) I also liked the side plots going on as well. The fantasy element was a unique addition to the story, which I really enjoyed.

Characters: Brynn was a great character, and reading abut her rejoining the world and dealing with her grief (I cried at the end!), and her finding her gift again was a good part of the book. Her aunts and her uncle were great! And I loved the quirky cast of characters this book had!

The Cover: I like it! Perfectly spooky, and I love the house in the background!

Overall: This was a fantastic start to a new cozy mystery series! I loved reading it, and I will definitely make sure to check out the next book in the series, too! Overall, I definitely recommend it!

I received an e-ARC from the publisher.

This was a solid start to the series. I felt like it dragged at times but I'm sure that's because it was the first book and everything had to be explained and laid out. I am looking forward to reading the next in this series

In the Company of Witches by Auralee Wallace is another unusual choice for me, as I don't often choose cozy mysteries, but I was still looking for a light read, and you know there's that big cat and the Victorian mansion on the cover and witches.

from description: When a guest dies in the B&B she helps her aunts run, a young witch must rely on some good old-fashioned investigating to clear her aunt's name in this magical and charming new cozy mystery.

I liked the aunts. Their personalities were such a contrast. Brynn, their niece, has always been able to commune with ghosts and when Constance (the guest) dies, Brynn seems the perfect person to have a little conversation with Constance to find out what happened, especially since it appears the her Aunt Nora is the chief suspect! Brynn, however, has been unable or unwilling to use her powers since her husband died. She is determined to clear her aunt without using her powers and isn't even certain that she could use them if she wanted to.

In the Company of Witches is a fast read, and if you enjoy cozy mysteries this might be one you would like.

It made me feel all of the feels! Really well written! The pain of losing a loved one is never an easy burden to bear, but the Warren witches, their magic shenanigans, and a murder to solve just might do it.

This is exactly what a reader wants when they pick up a cozy mystery. Cute setting, kookie characters and a solvable, but still interesting mystery. The first book in a series is challenging, the author has to establish place, characters, backstory and (in the case of supernatural variants) an entire magical mythos while ALSO getting a mystery solved. That is a tall order and Wallace does it well. I read this one in one sitting and look forward to more in the series.

This is a wonderful mystery that I read in two sittings!

This was a near perfect cozy for me. I'm so excited to see where this series goes. The characters are strong and flawed, the mystery kept me guessing but wasn't convoluted, and the plot is well-paced. I could have had more from the setting, but that's because I'm a big sense of place nerd. I loved the kind of witches the Warren sisters are. They aren't Bewitched witches, or casual coven witches, these are badass old-family witches and I loved that. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough from Faustus, the cat.

One of the best Halloween, cozy mystery books I've ever read! I loved every page! The characters are enjoyable. The plot was engaging. I cannot wait to read more books in this series.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are completely my own.
