Contents include foot anatomy and other foot basics, stretching and strengthening, foot massage, foot reflexology and common problems and uncommon remedies.
I love the fact that the author included recipes for helping a variety of foot ailments and for just some great self-care foot rubs. The exercises feel wonderful and stretch parts of my feet that I didn’t even realize needed attention. A must-have and concise guide for complete foot care, 5 stars!

If you are a human, with feet, you probably need this book. After years of martial arts, yoga, and various other athletic pursuits, my feet hurt. This book has actionable tips to help your feet feel better, which in turn helps the rest of your body. It would be particularly useful for former/current athletes and those whose bodies are aging. There are some preventative tips and methods that would be useful for many people.

I thought this book was informative and well thought out and I have added it to my wish list so that I always have a copy on hand.

I am looking forward to the foot and calf massages I am going to get in exchange for the ones I give. I also need to incorporate some of the exercises for sure, especially the toe spreading one! I am looking forward to trying some of the recipes for creams/treatments. Peppermint and eucalyptus are two of my favorite scents.

Highly recommend this book to everyone because we all have feet!

I loved the Foot Care Handbook so much! I learned so much about my feet and the various pains I experience what's even better is the remedies offered are easy to follow, I may not have had all of the ingredients on hand but fortunately they were easily found in my local health & wellness shops (or online!) and I found a lot of relief for my ailments! I love this book and highly recommend it to everyone, even if you don't have any foot issues I think prevention is better than cure and this should be a staple book in every home!

This is a friendly, helpful book filled with good advice and herbal/holistic remedies for common foot problems. The author explains how feet work, how to keep them healthy, and what to try if they're in need of attention. There are lots of simple recipes for home remedies and the book is well organized. She gives reasonable caveats for when to put down this book and seek medical attention, which I believe is a must for any do-it-yourself, health-related book. Overall, I found it to be accessible, informative, and pleasant to read through.

This book had a few helpful tips, but some conflicted information from what I've been told by my podiatrist. A good read for those interested, but not something for our school library.

If you are looking for a basic foot care book, from a non-medical professional, this may be of interest to you. The book does a good job of describing foot anatomy and some of the more common ailments that occur with feet. The stretching exercises and self-massage instructions are very reasonable. I do think more caution for diabetic patients and a few more disclaimers for diabetic patients would be helpful.

I also feel that there has been a great disservice to all the active Foot and Ankle Orthopedic surgeons out there who see patients with ALL of these ailments on a daily basis. They are not mentioned at all in the recommendations to see health care providers in this book and I feel that is a grave and unfair oversight. Foot and ankle Orthopedic surgeons are extremely well versed in all manner of foot and ankle care, and they have the added certification as physicians–meaning they are able to diagnose and treat underlying conditions and refer patients for appropriate medical specialist care as well.

There was no mention of any possible skin cancers such as melanoma, which can affect the nails in patients as well. I think that would at least deserve a mention when recommending patients to self exams of their feet.

And diabetics with neuropathy should at no point be barefoot, not even in their homes. They are at high risk for issues from bumping, stubbing their feet or inadvertently stepping on something sharp or pointed and not being able to feel it.

This book provides a lot of helpful information with regard to common foot ailments and appropriate stretches for patients to do at home. The massage instructions are also useful. I am not as familiar with the homeopathic cures and feel that is something that may not have proven efficacy.

The diagrams are accurate, the authors knowledge of foot anatomy and ailments appears well researched. I would say my biggest caveat is that there is not enough caution placed for some of the recommendations as far as diabetic patients. I also feel the oversight regarding Orthopedic Foot and Ankle surgeons is significant.

Had it not been for these caveats, or had more emphasis been placed on cautions for diabetics I may have rated this higher. It is informative and the writing style is very approachable and clear. More detailed bibliography and references would have also been helpful.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital ARC of this book.
