I did not end up getting around to this book but am trying to clear out my NetGalley account. I am auto-approved by this publisher and took more books than I could actually read.

Mistletoe, Maine sounds so charming and like the perfect setting for a holiday read! I absolutely enjoyed Lucy and Dante. They were both enjoyable to follow throughout the story. Throughout the story, it was fun to meet the different characters who are also members of Mistletoe. I cannot wait to return in other books in this series! Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Pub for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Really enjoyed my third trip to Mistletoe, Maine in Falling in Love on Sweetwater Lane. I also loved the first two books in the series No Ordinary Christmas and Summer on Blackberry Beach. Each book can be read as a stand alone though the some of the characters are in all three.

My favorite part of Belle Calhoune's books are the characters because it's easy to relate to them and like them. Belle does a great job at describing the characters and scenes which makes them so easy to imagine.

I was given an ARC of this book but all opinion are my own.

Thank you all for this gifted copy of No Ordinary Christmas by Belle Calhoune!

This was a really cute, quick read, but nothing really stood out for me. Honestly, it was one of those books that I read, and I don't think I retained much of anything--kind of like when you drive home and you don't remember the drive. There wasn't anything that I absolutely loved, but nothing I hated either.

Honestly, I might give this book another try during the right time of year to see if it changes my thoughts at all.

This is a good, fluffy second-chance Christmas romance set in a small town. I adored all the characters and can't wait to see some of the side-characters shine in future installments.

A second chance at love Christmas romance that gave me all the small town Christmas feelings that I craved. Hollywood action star/heartthrob Dante, returns home to Mistletoe, Maine to direct a movie after leaving almost 9 years ago for California. He's hoping to heal relationships with his family and his high school sweetheart Lucy, the town librarian, who he abandoned in his quest for fame.

I loved how both Lucy and Dante surrendered to their feelings and didn't worry about getting hurt, even though they've been down this route together before and both were left heartbroken. I was rooting for them pretty hard! I was a bit disappointed at one point because I thought I was finally going to read a romance where it didn't have the typical "Characters are falling in love, but then a misunderstanding tears them apart, but then they resolve it and live happily ever after" storyline. Eventually, the dreaded misunderstanding occurred. But, I won't spoil if the rest of the storyline follows the typical pattern.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this DRC.

Read a finished copy from the library.

I was first interested in this book because our main character is a librarian and currently I am going to grad school to become a Librarian.
No Ordinary Christmas is told from the perspectives of Dante and Lucy.

Lucy is the small town of Mistletoe Maine's librarian and years ago she dated Dante and they had a whole life planned together. Then suddenly Dante just up and left for Los Angeles without telling anyone, nor contacting anyone from back home until months after he had left. Dante while he regrets this choice has not exactly been coming back to Mistletoe a lot to make amends with the people he hurt.

It isn't until Dante comes back to make the Christmas movie that he is directing that he comes back at all really talks to the people he left behind that weren't family. Lucy of course is avoiding Dante as much as she can, but that isn't exactly easy because the entire town is making him be this big movie star hero that they know him as. It isn't until Dante asks Lucy for the ability to use the town's library to film a few of the movie scenes that they interact. This puts Lucy in a position where she has to make a hard choice, does she accept Dante's offer and the money he offers for taking up the libraries time, which will make it so the library can offer more services, or does she turn him down, and run for the hills? Well to find that part out you'll have to read the book for yourself.

Overall I liked this book. It was a good balance of dealing with the past and the hurt feelings that were caused between Lucy and Dante, and them trying to be friends now and living in the moment more. While they are working through things about hurt feelings from the past, they are both individually dealing with family as well. Lucy's mom has MS, and we see Lucy spending a lot of time with her little sister who is a character for sure that is going to be unstoppable as she grows up. For Dante, you see him dealing with hurt feelings from his brother and trying to repair that relationship.
I loved the interactions with the few townspeople we got, and I cannot wait to see who book two follows and get more of this town and the kind people that live in it.
This book is a little Hallmarkish, but I enjoyed that and it never over did it and got sickeningly sweet.

I cannot wait to read more books by Calhoune, especially in the setting of Mistletoe Maine!

I will be posting the review on my blog and on my Instagram closer to the holiday season. I have already gone ahead and posted my review on Amazon, Goodreads, and Storygraph.

This is my first read by this author and I can tell you right now it's definitely not going to be my last!
This book will make you feel all warm and fuzzy like it's a relaxing Sunday and you've just eaten a big stack of warm fluffy pancakes and you're so satisfied.
Mistletoe,Maine has been chosen as the filming spot for Dante West's latest movie. Dante grew up in Mistletoe but left for Hollywood and became a celebrity heartthrob .
When he was just a local guy he was best friends with and dating quiet unassuming librarian Lucy Marshall. He left it all behind, even her without a goodbye.
The town's folks welcome him back with open arms as for Lucy, she's scared to risk her feeling on him again but those feeling just seem to bubble up to the surface again no matter how much her sister warns her to be careful this time around.
The magic of Christmas may just play a part in getting these two back together again.
I loved the winter descriptions of the book and the fun atmosphere of it.
Everyone needs to visit a town like Mistletoe,Maine at least once.
I can't wait to read more books in this series.

Late on this review but No Ordinary Christmas was a quick and fun holiday read. Set in Maine at Christmas time, this book is the first in a series and features a small town {Mistletoe!}, second chance romance, a librarian and it channels all the Hallmark movie vibes! It's a clean romance and follows a straightforward storyline. Simple and satisfying!

This definitely gave me all the Christmas vibes that I needed. It was such a fun and fast read. I never felt slow and it kept my attention. It was a real page turner. I loved that these two were in a different time in their lives when they saw each other again because the time apart really gave them room to grow and it showed even though Lucy was a bit stubborn at times. I loved the development and the spark between her and Dante. This book put me in such a great mood i loved it.

It’s no secret that I love second chance romances and holiday romances, so I should have loved one that combined the two? Should’ve been a homerun, but it wasn't. Unfortunately, while there was quite a bit of both that worked, the book overall didn’t sit well with me. My main issue with the book was that I didn’t like Dante. I've read a lot of reviews and most mention that Dante is kind of a victim. He believes himself to be one and therefore that really makes him unlikable.

Oh this was such a sweet second-chance love story and definitely just what I needed. Now if only I could visit the town of Mistletoe in real life...

Lucy Marshall works at the local library in Mistletoe and let's just say she is less than thrilled (and more than a little anxious) when her first love and former-best-friend Dante West comes back to town. Eight and a half years ago he left Mistletoe, and her, for the bright lights of Hollywood. Dante is back in town, and Lucy has no choice but to be around him because he's making a sizable donation to the library in return for being allowed to film there.

They quickly realize that their spark has never actually been snuffed out, and no one knows them like they know each other. There is definitely something to be said for shared history. But will this time end in disaster too, or can they learn to trust each other again?

I loved all the characters, and the town, so much. This was such a cozy and delightful read.
