Let's Go for a Walk is a delightful, colorful reminder of all that there is to experience outdoors. Colors and shapes are some of the ways to cast a construct on what there is to encounter, as are smell, touch, and sound. The vocabulary definitely tips readers into British culture - Americans use picnic blankets, not rugs, for example - but that's part of the book's charm. I wasn't acquainted with Ranger Hamza and maybe that's a good thing, because we could experience the book on its own merit versus seeing it as part of a franchise.

Let's Go For A Walk is a fantastic interactive picture book that you can take with you on walks or hikes and read aloud to Littles to prompt them to use all of their senses to experience the world around them.

Each page poses questions that urge children to look for specific colors, shapes, and sizes, to touch and feel the textures of the natural world, to smell the scents of foods and flowers, to listen to the sounds of nature, and more.

If you're looking for a fun book with lots of simple nature-based activities and facts for the young years, this may be perfect for you!
Not only does it focus on nature and immersing yourself in it, but it also includes educational suggestions to do on the go, such as finding the alphabet or numbers in your everyday surroundings, from street signs to billboards, and encourages learning in all its many forms.

The more time we spend with this wonderful picture book, the more we love it and the more we hope it gets into the hands of children around the world.

This 32 picture book has it all! No matter where you live, Ranger Hamza is excited to show you and have you experience the seasons, colors, shapes, sounds, tastes, smells, opposites, numbers, letters, materials, clouds, and mobility, the list really goes on and on. Daytime finds and nighttime ones too, there are even informative science and nature facts. This book is perfect for curious toddlers to early elementary aged kids. Read it all at once or a page at a time, the book begs you to mimic what you've learned from the book when you are out running errands, at the park, or camping. Covering both city and nature environments, every kid should find something familiar and something more to discover in the world around them. The text dances around the pages, and kids are encouraged to remember what they can at the end. The diverse skin tones, the visible hearing aid and prosthetic leg really make this inclusive book a joy to read and imitate again and again.

I love this interactive book. Hamza challenges younger readers to bring this book along when they take a walk outside. Each page spread offers a different type of object to look for. Informative text is slipped in as they answer questions and look around them. It also teaches them to be more observant and notice the details in the world they live in.
Detailed illustrations offer examples to follow and leave room for readers to find their own objects no matter where they live and are walking.

A gorgeous guided book for little ones to think about mindfulness and observation. Not only is this one way to engage older toddlers and kids about their surroundings and get them involved in nature, but the types of questions presented on each page made me realize the ways I can secretly insert learning and noticing in lots of different activities, starting kids out from a super young age. Perfect for any type of kid interested in the outdoors, we'll definitely be picking this one up.

Let's Go For a Walk is an enticing, gorgeous and absolutely terrific fun book for preschoolers! Your children will instantly be drawn into this exciting little world!. It's also a great reminder to grown-ups to respect a child's natural instinct to move slowly, interact, and observe, even the most smallest details in their environment.

Take this adorable book with it's vibrant illustrations along on a journey of exploration and interactive play rather in the country, in town, or at the seaside. It has wonderful suggestions for children to look for during their hike and certainly makes the walk more enjoyable, exciting and into a little adventure! It also offers fascinating little facts that will enchance a child's natural curiosity and are relateable to things they know. Such as: "Two together is called a pair" "How many pairs do you see?"

In order for children of this age to learn they must also practice recall and planning. This book allows naturally for this as you can review your little adventure with your child when you return home by looking at the book again and even plan your next outing for those inquisitive little minds! It naturally encourages getting outside and back to nature, which is proven to be beneficial and relaxing no matter your age!

This wonderful little book with it's joyful rhyming verse, dynamic text along with enchanting illustartions of children of many colors will become a favorite of your child and maybe even yourself!

I really enjoyed reading an early copy of this children’s book. The author takes us along on a walk outdoors where we look for colors, sizes, textures, smells and many other learning opportunities. I loved the rhyming as well. I will definitely be purchasing a hard copy of this for my granddaughter and using in my classroom in conjunction with my nature thematic unit.

This book is for families who love the outdoors. Each page has different things to look out for and can be used time and again. When my children were young, I would often encourage them to walk for longer by challenging them to find things along the way. Let's go for a walk could be used in this way and as a story at home to talk about all the things you see when out and about. I love the vibrant colours and the suggestions to look up, down and use all of your senses.

I LOVE the illustrations in this book. They are so bright and eye-catching and the flow of the words with them is amazing. I also love how this book encourages kids (and adults) to get out and explore and not to take our environment for granted.

Excellent ideas! Every time one goes for a walk there are so many things to see. It doesn't matter if it is a parent or child, this book should come along to remind us of the many things there are to see, hear, smell, and feel by focusing on a few definitions each time. Like things that are red, or shapes, or thing that can be counted, and more. It reminds us to look up, down, and all around so we can enjoy the world outside in any season! And the illustrations are simply terrific!

Come take a walk with Ranger Hamza through his engaging story and colorful, cheerful illustrations by Kate Kronreif. Enjoy exploration and exercise in a delightful array of settings such as garden, open air market, bakery, park, city, meadow, beach, and trails. Children will learn so much by joining Ranger and a small group of children, who have a talent for teaching while trekking. As a speech-language pathologist, I appreciate the educational standards creatively covered in this book. Literacy, oral expression, and social skills will be enhanced, all through fun and adventurous walking with friends and family. Explore textures, shapes, questions, concepts, vocabulary, numbers, and words on these journeys by foot. This book is a sensory delight as readers look, listen, smell, taste and touch the wonders of the world through walking.
Parents and educators will be inspired to take family and school field trips to destinations in their communities after reading this book. What fun to plan follow up walking rambles to discover local strawberry fields, apple orchards, parks, farmer's markets, urban and nature trails, and more!

Almost bordering on mindfulness, but thankfully not going the whole hog, this asks us to go for a walk, whether we're in the city or countryside, and see what we can see. Using some bursts into verse, very bright colours and some dynamic presentation of the text, we get prompts to check out the smells and colours along our way, as well as any pairs, man-made numbers and signs, and different textures en route. In demanding we look up and down, and consider the small as well as the large and obvious, this delays us, and makes the walk more interesting and engaging and something to inspire the inquisitive mind. Which is definitely a good thing.
