Romantic suspense novels with a Christian life view are a great way to pass the time. Dani Pettrey joins the ranks of Kristin Heitzman, Dee Henderson, Irene Hannon and more. This is the first of her books that I have had the pleasure of enjoying, and I am thankful that I have Submerged on my shelf because I definitely want to go back and read the first of this series.

Shattered is book two of the Alaskan Courage series. In it, Piper McKenna is convinced that her brother, Reef, is innocent of the murder charge he has received. Evidence, however, tells another story. Landon Grainger, close friend of the McKennas and detective in Yancy, Alaska trusts evidence as fact. This adds some tension to his friendship with Piper and her family. In a search for the truth, the characters face adventure and growth.

This book drew me in from the beginning. The characters are well developed and thought out. The suspense is gripping; the relationships are real. I was able to follow the story without reading the first book, but I am looking forward to reading it later. The third book, Stranded, comes out later this year, which should be a good one as well

Unfortunately I didn't read the first book in this series and didn't realize it was a series before I started. While I think it would have been beneficial to have read the first book it isn't a must. I was still able to enjoy this book, the scenery and the characters.

Pettrey’s book was spell-binding. Her suspense and romance writing skills rival the best. I came in with high expectations and this one did not fail to deliver. For anybody who likes suspense, romance, and adventure, look no further.

Absolutely loved this book from Dani Pettrey. After the first in this series, I was ready to start the second and couldn't wait until this released. Pettrey's writing makes the reader feel as though they are a part of the ongoing suspense. Having characters continue from the prior book is wonderful as well, and seeing their lives continue to unfold. Cannot wait to see what else the series holds!

I loved Dani Pettrey's book Submerged, and Shattered is just as good! I enjoy it when the character's from the first book return with more than a "hello". We are again with the McKenna siblings, and this time it is vagabond Reed. He is no sooner home when he is caught with a body and a knife in his hand.
His family know he is not capable of murder. Piper is disappointed that Landon Grainger, the Detective in Yancey AK, arrests Reed. Now this is a difficult position for him, he lived with the McKenna's as a youngster.
Piper is also fighting romantic feelings for him, but how could he arrest her brother. When Landon continues to investigate this murder even when the DA is certain they have a shut case. In the end he takes a leave of absence.
He and Piper are now off on a very scary adventure, you will never know what is going to happen from one page to the next. There is so much action going on, along with a bit of romance.
Who is telling the truth here, and it takes almost to the last page of the book to find all of the answers.
I myself am looking forward to Ms Pettrey's new books!

I received this book from Litfuse Publicity Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.

Shattered by Dani Pettrey is the 2nd book in what I feel is my new favorite series. I started reading it and couldn't stop. I love stories that are about families--where we get to learn about each person's story. This is one of those series. I also love hearing about families that stick together, even if they don't live near each other, which they do in this book. As soon as I finished this, I texted my BFF and told her to go get the books and start reading them. I told her they will be our new favorites next to the O'Malley series by Dee Henderson. This is high praise in our world. She did and is in complete agreement with me. She was able to obtain Submerged immediately and was in the process of obtaining Shattered last time we chatted. I have Submerged sitting on my bookshelf. This book is good enough that I don't mind going back to read the previous book in the series.

The pace of this book is great. The characters are intriguing. It is definitely a work of fiction, but that's why we read it, right? I love some of the nuances that the author added about Alaska-like someone asking for fresh fruit in the middle of winter and getting canned. It made me laugh, but it was a fun detail that just added to the story for me. If you like a good romantic suspense novel, I highly recommend this one.

I just finished the second book in Dani Pettery's Alaskan Courage series called Shattered. This book continues the story of the McKenna family and centers primarily around Piper and her brother Reef. Reef finally returns home. Of course, his return is just for a snowboarding tournament which is quite a disappointment to his family. But things quickly go from good to bad when he is charged with killing one of the tournament players, Karli Davis. Piper is convinced of her brother's innocence but others are not so sure. Piper goes on the hunt trying to find the real killer and get her brother declared innocent.

There a lot of twists and turns to this plot that will not disappoint you. I really enjoyed reading this second book in the series. The story was exciting and kept my interest right up through the end.

Dani is simply one of the best Christian suspense authors out there. Her books always leave me on the edge of my seat. I can never put them down until I finish them!

5 Stars!!!

Oh, wow! Where I do even begin, this book is INCREDIBLE!

In Submerged, the first book in the series, I fell head over heels in love with Piper and Landon, so Shattered was a dream come true for me. I didn't think it was possible to love anything more than Submerged but I was proven wrong!!! Shattered is full of everything I love the most in a book, edge of your seat suspense, sweet romance, an awesome mystery (By the way, I had no clue what was really going on!) And an incredible faith filled message.

I love the McKenna family so much, when I read their stories I feel like a part of their family, and like I am living the story right along with them (How many books can do that? In my experience, not many!)
All the settings and descriptions were so vivid I felt like I was really there. The faith message in both Submerged and Shattered taught me so many things, and has served to bring me into a closer and deeper relationship with God.

I have so many favorite scenes in Shattered, but at the top of the list is chapter 36 in it's entirety!!! Those who have read the book will know exactly what I mean! :)
If you haven't read Shattered yet then prepare to be amazed. (And if that doesn't pique your curiosity, I don't know what will!)

I loved every word of this book and it is and will always be at the top of my list of all time favorite books!
Dani Pettrey's writing is amazing, there is an incredible feeling of coming home that exists in everything she writes. I cannot wait for Stranded (I think this is the first time in my life that I am actually looking forward to September! LOL)

Okay, I'll stop gushing now, but let me just say that Shattered is amazing and a MUST READ! But don't just take my word for it, read Submerged and Shattered and discover for yourself the magic of the McKenna's!

I received this book for free from Bethany House publishers in exchange for my honest review. The above is my honest opinion.
