Sexy and engaging, I loved this story! Lyosha is the (semi) reformed Russian bad boy who has gone legit and now manages security for his boss - as opposed to being the muscle for a mob boss that was his prior role. With all the black in his past, he doesn't think he's good enough for a nice girl, so he controls his impulses around Mila. Mila is a good girl who even volunteers at an animal shelter, which is how she meets Lyosha.

They quickly become friends, each secretly wanting more, when an enemy from Lyosha's past acts on his revenge plan in a way designed to hurt Lyosha the most. What follows is an engrossing novel that had me turning pages just as quickly as possible to see what happened next. I loved the characters and found myself invested in their story and wanting them to get their HEA ending.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel - however it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.
