I love Johanna Basford's coloring books and was intrigued to see this new one, which is slightly different. It takes a more guided approach to using coloring and drawing to awaken creativity. I loved the tips and am going to buy the actual book to discover the rest of the contents. Based on the introduction alone I recommend it!

I have purchased many Johanna Basford coloring books. I find her style to be unique and fun, with enough detail to keep my busy and fun little items in the book. This was a lot like her coloring books, but with prompts to jumpstart your creativity over a month. I decided to try it because I like the author and I am a sucker for the "30 days to creativity" challenges. This one wasn't really what I'm into. I just didn't enjoy the prompts that much, mostly because I don't like doodling and drawing. I'm not good at it, which is why I color. But I can see how this would be helpful for others.

I feel this is a title that is best owned in a personal collection vs in a library. The activities and the space provided for them in the book make it a less than desirable choice for a library setting. That said the activities are good, and the exercises lend to developing a discipline of creativity. Love that!

30 Days of Creativity is designed to kick-start your creativity through various prompts and ideas. There are a lot of fun prompts from coloring, sketching and doodling to help spark creativity and inspire your own projects. This book is a lot of fun and can be a great source of joy for anyone wanting to take a break from all that life throws at them.

Special thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Books for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Since this book seems to be more of a fill in as you go I don't believe it is the best for a library but a personal buy/purchase since it is interactive. I think it would be fun to follow along the prompts and looks great for a coloring book

I was a little thrown by this book because I expected project ideas or a little more critical thinking to go into the 30 days of creativity. Then I realized this was written by an author of some adult coloring books I’ve used in the past. This one is much more basic and makes me think of a simple doodling self care book with sets of vases for you to draw plants in and the like. It wasn’t something I personally loved because it didn’t feel like creativity to me since it was so prescriptive. Some people might like that though. It’s possible I’m rating this one too low, but I just don’t think it markets itself quite right. Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy.

This was a great book to increase the imagination juices! I really loved the fact that I could draw and doodle whatever came to mind.

While I can't purchase this book for our library, as a Johanna Basford fan I love it! Her tips and tricks are wonderful as are the drawings. This book helps fans feel closer to the artist.

A perfect book for anyone who wants to begin or renew a connection to drawing. Basford provides basic instruction on choosing minimal supplies for artists and offers expert advice on simple ways to conquer challenges. The bottom line is that there are no mistakes. Draw and have fun for a minimum of 10 minutes a day. Recommended for blossoming artists from child to adult. (Illustrations not seen.)

Thank you for an advance copy of this book! I am a huge fan of Johanna Basford. I love the activities in this book so much I just had to pick up a physical copy for myself. Can't wait to work through these 30 days of activities and prompts. Artists and creatives of all types will love this book!

Johanna Basford has always created beautifully intricate designs for coloring. This book is no exception. She begins this book with an accountability chart. This set of circles with 1-30 provides the user to set aside at least 10 minutes every day for 30 days time to refresh and reflect. Not only does this book allow for the relaxation of coloring, but it also provides sparks of creativity. Examples are provided and on the next page, space is available for you to add your own drawings.

I believe this is an excellent book for personal use. The written word is lovely as are the illustrations, but it would not be appropriate for a library.

Another beautiful Zen coloring book, but also an additional aspect to the much loved genre. This book encourages you to doodle in your own designs as well as those supplied by the author. Love it! I ordered one for myself so that I can have a cup of tea and a break engaging with my left brain.

Adult coloring book meets smash book.
With guidance and inspirational quotes (and even a recipe) sprinkled throughout, readers attempting to bring art and creativity into their daily lives get the opportunity to color, draw, and doodle their way through this book. There is even a 30-day habit tracker provided.

A slim coloring book to inspire readers to create their own art. Great illustrations and ideas to produce ones own illustrations. My favorite idea was illustrating family recipes that have been handed down. I can see a whole book project ahead. 🙃

Books on creativity are having a moment at my library and it’s truly lovely to see this addition. Beautiful illustrations and great insights, if a little shallow. This one will circulate well
