This is a great coming-of-age story that explores the main character's identity and self-discovery. This is a good fit for those seeking a heartwarming and humorous story about self-discovery, acceptance, and the complexities of love and relationships, with a focus on neurodiversity and the challenges of living with Tourette's Syndrome.

Stephen Luckie has lived with Tourette's Syndrome his entire life and largely chalks up his lack of a love life to his tics. Until he kisses a girl at a part and realizes that the tics stop. He pours himself into an experiment to uncover how to quell his tics and along the way he learns that perhaps there's more to the story he's been telling himself all along.

Too fast paced, felt like the author was more in a hurry to finish it than anything. I’m not sure what it was, but I didn’t really enjoy it.

This was such a great listen. I enjoy the audio book and the emotions the reader had. A very nice story for young adult. And a good way to use the hypothesis theory, though the way the character went for it seem more far fetch . However, the character did had a purpose in doing what he did to find out if he was capable of loving.

The idea of Kiss and Repeat is really cute but reading it as an adult as well a the thoughts behind religion just didn’t sit with me well. Not for me.

What I liked about this one was that it was from a guys perspective & that it shined a light on those who have Tourette's which was refreshing to read about. With that being said I was a bit annoyed with some of the side characters & how the parents weren't exactly involved even though we were given the impression that they were. Also it was a bit off putting how although Stephens parents were pastors he seemed to still be navigating his own spirituality & it was somewhat just brushed over. I might even say...the tone of the book was almost a little too bro like...I did like the concept that kissing the right person helped Stephen but goin around kissing everyone for "science" ehhhhh

☁️ Honestly today has been so chaotic and not the greatest day. Unfortunately so much has happened but I still want to keep up with posting everyday for this month.

☁️Therefore huge apologies but my review will be short today...

☁️This was such a unique story. I really loved the premise behind it, it does talk about Tourette’s Syndrome, which I’ve never read about in a book... that was interesting.

☁️It was a fairly quick listen (yes I listened to the audiobook via @netgalley) I enjoyed it for the most part but there were times when the story just felt flat.

☁️This was another average read. It is a YA romance book so if that’s your type of read then you may enjoy this.

Hmmmm. Okay, it makes me feel really terrible to say this, and maybe I'll come back to it eventually and fall in love with the story, but this just wasn't for me and I ended up DNFing this at 40%. Maybe I'm aging out of YA, maybe the writing just wasn't connecting with me the way I am positive it will for so many other people! But Kiss and Repeat just did not spark joy for me and I am trying to be more okay with putting something down instead of forcing myself to finish something I don't love.
The MC having Tourette's Syndrome was what kept my interest for the 40% I did read, but otherwise it just fell flat for me. I also just don't care for the whole "Two girls love me, however can I choose?" thing that was going on, but that is clearly just a preference thing.
The narration was fine and I'm sure this will find its audience, but I am clearly not it.
Thank you kindly to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for providing this Ebook ARC for my honest review!

I was excited about the premise of this book, but it didn’t work for me. The story progresses very quickly. While I liked the writing style, the story just wasn’t well fleshed out. I found it hard to keep the periphery characters straight. Stephen has a handful of recurring female characters around him and it took too much energy to remember who was who, especially since I wasn’t sure which of these characters was important. I simply wasn’t sure what to hope for. In the end, I didn’t like a single character in this entire story, so I didn’t enjoy it. It is very short though so it was easy to finish.

So I really liked this book! I have never read a book about someone with Tourette's syndrome! I'm sure there are books that feature it, but I just haven't gotten to any yet! And this was interesting. I also liked this book's view on religion. It wasn't preachy or offensive at all, and the author was really sincere about religion in this book. It gives you a look at a boy living in the Bible Belt, and a sensitive look at religion in that area, and the messy journey it can be. Overall I enjoyed this book! I loved the audiobook, the narration was great! I liked that we saw life in the Bible Belt through the eyes of a teenage boy learning about love and girls, and also that we saw someone who was neuro-diverse, and how it can affect families, friends, and the person as well. I thought it was a great read! I highly recommend this book to everyone! It's definitely one of my favorites for this year! All the characters were well developed and so relatable! I loved it a lot!

I just did not care for this storyline. The MC thinks that kissing makes his Tourette Syndrome calm down so decides to kiss as many girls as he can as an "experiment." Eww. I like that the MC had a neurological disorder that is almost never written about, especially in YA literature, but I just didn't like how it was used as a tool to kiss girls? Turns out maybe he's just a shitty teenage boy? I don't know. I'm just glad it was a quick listen.

Kissing will cure Tourette Syndrome tics, right? Or at least this is the hypothesis of the experiment taking place in this heartwarming, fast paced, YA Romance novel that is a must read. Stephen Luckie has never felt lucky in the love department. Growing up in a small town as a minister’s son who has Tourette Syndrome has been a challenge for him. But after playing a spin the bottle/seven minutes in heaven combination game at a party, he realizes that kissing calms or even eliminates his physical tics. After bringing this up to his best friend, who couldn’t be more his opposite, they come up with an experiment of sorts. Stephen must kiss as many girls as possible to see if kissing really does calm his tics. This little experiment leads Stephen down a path that he soon realizes is not the person he wants to be. This novel of self-discovery was a breath of fresh air in the world of YA. Oftentimes characters in this genre are over-the-top and sometimes unrelatable. This is untrue for this story. It’s case of characters are all relatable in their own ways which makes this character-driven story a rare one. I thought this book did an excellent job of introducing Tourette Syndrome without it being the main focus of the book. I liked how some of the misconceptions about the syndrome were debunked and explained. This also makes the book more relatable in my opinion because it focused more on the individual rather than the syndrome. The readers get to know Stephen despite his Tourette's. They also get to see him fall in love for the first time which appeals to readers who favor the elements of romance in books. This story is filled with romance, sometimes in the most unexpected places. I was fortunate enough to get to listen to the audiobook of this novel, which brought Stephen’s character to life even more.

I was happy to see a book where the main character has Tourette Syndrome. Very few books have a main character who is neurodiverse and it is even more special because the author is neurodiverse. Stephen seems like a well adjusted teen who struggles with his tics making him standout with his peers. During a kissing game at a party, Stephen discovers that his mind and tics settle when he is kissing. His best friend Ballard suggests they approach the loss of tics when kissing, using the scientific method. Ballard works on lining up girls to test the hypothesis, and Stephen soon begins to question how he is treating the girls. In the process Stephen gains an unexpected girlfriend, and comes to terms with his feelings for Joan who he has simultaneously hated and loved for years.

Stephen, has Tourette’s Syndrome and isn’t the greatest when it comes to love -- could it be due to his tics? During a kissing game at a party though, all of Stephen’s tics melt away and he soon beginning a kissing experience. Somehow, Stephen finds himself in the middle between two girls and begins to question whether tics were ever part of his problems.

This reads like your typical YA, but also provides insight into Tourette’s Syndrome. While Stephen does have tics, it felt very normalized rather than stigmatized which I liked. The plot was a bit messy seeing how the kissing experiment is quickly abandoned, plus, I had some mixed feelings towards the characters. There was some sexism and religious talk that put me off as well. Overall, just not for me.

Kiss and Repeat by Heather Truett was a pleasant change of pace. It's not as common to find a YA novel with a male protagonist. It was nice to see an effort made to feature a character with Tourette syndrome, which I've never come across before.
Stephen did change and grow throughout the book which I appreciated. I didn't connect very well with all of the characters, but I'd be interested to read more by this author.
The narrator Nick Mondelli was a pleasure to listen to. A good audiobook narration can really elevate a reading experience.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Audio for the opportunity to listen to this book for genuine feedback.
