Allie works in a supermarket and has a not very nice boyfriend. She wants a job in a local cafe, but needs to learn how to cook. When her new neighbour offers to help her out life starts to change for all of them

A great short read.

I really enjoyed this short story. Allie is constantly being put down by her boyfriend and work colleagues so when she decides to make changes it turns into a very heartwarming story.

When she sees an advert in the local cafe she goes in and asks for a job. But she's not ready, the owner gives her a month to learn to cook the basics. With the help of her new neighbour she learns to bake.

This may only be a short story but it does pack a lot in. I loved the relationship she formed with her neighbour. One, simple kind act paved the way to a life changing opportunity. It was nice to see a cross generation friendship. The recipes they made are also included in the book. A great book with great characters.

I love quick reads, you get so much in short space and devour it in one sitting.

Allie wants to better herself and at least learn to cook this is what she sets out to achieve.

I really enjoyed this little delight, a perfect quick read, plus the added bonus of recipes at the end.

Thanks to the publishers for this advance read.
This quick read is about Allie, a twenty year old. She yearns to change things in her life and the story follows her as she attempts to do this.
Somehow the author manages to cram quite a lot into this quick read making it a delight to read.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting a feel good uplifting read.

I read this in my lunch break and it is absolutely outstanding. I’m a huge fan of the quick reads books and of Katie Fforde’s so this was the perfect combination. I loved the story!
