I was super excited to receive this ARC from NetGalley, because the Princess Diaries is very near and dear to my heart, and I heard good things about other works by Meg Cabot. What first hooked me about No Words was the plot, which sounded super meta since it centers around authors from various genres going to a book fair to host panels and book signings. I used to live in Los Angeles, and one of my favorite times of year was attending the LA Times book fair! Getting to see a sneak peak into the behind-the-scenes with authors, however fictionalized for the story, was really fun!

Jo Wright was such a fun and quirky character, and I enjoyed her friendships with some of the other authors at the fair. The dialogues, both internal and external, were hilarious. I felt that Jo’s outright hatred for Will Price was a bit excessive, and probably something that could have been resolved early on through a simple conversation, which was surprisingly difficult for these two characters that are famous for their words. But then again, we would not have had a fun book to read otherwise!

Some parts of the book were kind of slow and seemed to drag on longer than necessary, which is interesting considering the entire story takes place over the course of a long weekend. Still, it was an enjoyable read, and I love the enemies-to-lovers trope, so I was happy by the end. No Words is the 3rd book in the Little Bridge Island series, and you do not need to read the others beforehand. Pick this one up if you are craving some laughs, some gasps, and some heart-eyes!

No Words is a satisfying rom-com with a quirky premise. I really enjoyed this one, especially because I'm an author, but even if you aren't familiar with the publishing industry, it's well worth the read. The dialog is great, the characters are well-crafted and pacing is excellent. The scenes from the fictional story within the story are cheesy, but that's kind of the point. Will Price is a swoon worthy hero and Meg Cabot fans will find the slow burn romance quite delightful.

Thanks so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the complimentary copy. All opinions shared here are my own.

I wasn’t sure how to feel going into this book. I read the novella Bridal Boot Camp a couple of years ago and didn’t really like it. It’s felt rushed and incomplete and as an opener to the series, it didn’t really really catch my attention.

But the pinks and the yellows of the cover caught my eye. Add in the fact that it’s a story about a writer’s conference and I knew that I had to give No Words a shot!

I’m glad I did because I really wound up enjoying Jo’s story.

Her relationship (or lack thereof) with Will is a little infuriating because it’s obvious that they like each other, but they don’t know how to make things right. I enjoyed how Will seemed to mess up every interaction he had with Jo. It was cute how he would say something that came out wrong, and then have to scramble to fix it.

That’s something we can all relate to, right?

Meg really did a great job of creative a diverse and interesting group of authors who attend the conference. The other authors who attend with Jo and Will are from a variety of different book genres and age categories and a lot of the group activities they participated in (like hanging out on Will’s boat, or drinking together at the hotel) let to humorous conversations and incidents.

It was so fun as the story unfolded to find out more about Will’s background, and why he is the way he is. While his story is definitely tragic, it was clear that he was just doing the best he could with what he was given in life.

If you’re a fan of Meg Cabot or like reading stories about writers, consider checking out this book. It was funny and cute and made me laugh. It' also made me want to check out the first two books in the series.

Thank to to Netgalley for an eArc in exchange for an honest review.

This may have been my favorite one of the series! I really enjoy the adventures of this little town! I like seeing previous protagonists making cameos. These books seem to be getting a lot negative reviews, but I really like the Little Bridge books and I think they are perfect for people who love romances but may want it a little less steamy.

This is a rom com set in a small beach town (ahh I want to live there). I loved the funny, quirky cast of characters. The romance was a little more subtle compared to some of Meg’s other books and this one felt a little more “women’s fiction” than romance. It is a fun, quick, entertaining read.

Do you ever read book series out of order? Usually, my answer is a hard NO, but this stunning cover sucked me in, and I had to have it. Thank you to Avon Romance, William Morrow, and Harper Audio for the review copies!

No Words by Meg Cabot is the 3rd book in the Little Bridge Island series. I loved Meg Cabot when I was younger. Hello Princess Diaries series! This novel is about a fictional author, Jo Wright. Her famous Kitty Katz series has come to a halt after a significant writing block caused by her nemesis, fellow author Will Price. Jo is offered a chance to attend Little Bridge island's first-ever book festival and reluctantly decides to go. Will Price lives on the island, but she's promised he won't be there. I think we can all guess what happens next!

This book made me want to 1. attend a book festival and 2. travel to the Florida Keys where Little Bridge island is located! This is the 2nd series I've read located in the Florida Keys, and I'm taking it as a sign that I obviously need to go there!

One of my favorite scenes was an author panel between Will Price and Jo Wright, their witty banter was perfect, and the narration for this audiobook, done by Piper Goodeve, was spot on! I just recently finished another audiobook by her too!

I normally enjoy Meg Cabot books, this book was okay. It was better than the last book in the series. The Little Bridge Island books just aren't for me.

***3.5 Stars***

This is one of those reads that was an enjoyable little romp that, I’ll admit, kept me turning to the pages to see just what it would take for Jo to finally forgive Will and for Will to finally find the words to explain his actions, but in the end, it was simply enjoyable.

Pick this one up if you…
* Aren’t ready to give up summer
* LOVED the Princess Diaries
* Love a romance about authors!

Jo Wright always swore she’d never step foot on Little Bridge Island—not as long as her nemesis, bestselling author Will Price, is living there. Then Jo’s given an offer she can’t refuse: an all-expense-paid trip to speak and sign at the island’s first-ever book festival.Even though arrogant Will is the last person Jo wants to see, she could really use the festival’s more-than-generous speaking fee. She’s suffering from a crippling case of writer’s block on the next instalment of her bestselling children’s series, and her father needs financial help as well.

Then Jo hears that Will is off-island on the set of the film of his next book. Hallelujah! But when she arrives on Little Bridge, Jo is in for a shock: Will is not only at the book festival, but seems genuinely sorry for his past actions—and more than willing not only to make amends but prove to Jo that he’s a changed man. Things seem to be looking up—until disaster strikes, causing Jo to wonder: Do any of us ever really know anyone?

I went into this one somewhat blind. I requested this ARC simply because this author wrote The Princess Diaries! What a great read for in between spooky reads this month. It was light, sweet, funny, with just a bit of mystery! This is book 3 in the Little Bridge Island series, but easily read as a standalone.

Thank you @williammorrowbooks and @netgalley for this advanced readers copy! This book is available now!

An entertaining and quick read. Meg Cabot never disappoints and this book is another winner. This new series is a must read.

No Words is my first read by Meg Cabot, as the fact that romance is not really in my wheelhouse, but I'm dipping my toes into it as a palate cleanser. I did not realize that this was the third in a series until now, but it could be read as standalone. I liked the characters and the setting, but it still got all wrapped up into a happy little ending as predicted by a lot of romance books. I might go back and read the other two in the series just to check and see what happened before this book. Thanks to William Morrow and Custom House and NetGalley for this opportunity.

Fiction and non-fiction titles on the Florida Keys are enormously popular with our patrons, and Meg Cabot's Little Bridge series is a great recommendation for readers looking for humor and romance with a Keys backdrop.

I think this book is the weakest in the series, but nevertheless, it was cute. I didn't think it felt as welcoming as the other two though.

A book festival on a private island in Florida? That sounds amazing to me! I love that I was transported to a tropical place and that the author who owned the island had a secret attraction to an author he invited to be a panelist. It ended up being a happy ending.

⭐️ 1 STAR / DNF

Unfortunately, while I loved reading Meg Cabot as a young adult author (PRINCESS DIARIES anyone?), something about her adult novel just didn't pull me in. After about 40% of the book, Jo was just not a likable character for me (and I really could have done without all of the cat references) and I found that I didn't care how her situation worked out.

It is POSSIBLE that because I did not read the first two books from this setting (I was not aware it was part of a series when I requested it), I found myself not invested in the characters or where they came from.

Would give Meg Cabot another try! This one was just not for me.

I loved the first book in this series but this one was just ok for me. It seemed to drag a bit in certain parts. The beginning drew me in immediately but after that I would have loved to see more of the two main characters interacting together in different ways. I love the Florida Keys setting and would definitely still read other books in the series!

Meg Cabot never disappoints. I wish I had been reading this on a beach and not a rainy day but it was still fantastic. I will be buying this in paperback.

Book three of Meg Cabot's Little Bridge Island series finds children's book author Jo Wright traveling to Little Bridge Island for their first-ever book festival. Although Jo has tried her hardest to avoid the idyllic island due to the fact that her archnemesis, Will Price, lives there, the stipend being offered as well as the publicity she needs for her long-overdue next book, Jo cannot turn it down. There's also the fact that Jo is struggling from an extreme case of writer's block, she's been told the beauty and calm of the island has helped other authors out of the same situation, so she decides to give it a try. Plus, she's been guaranteed that Will Price will be nowhere in sight of her. That plan completely goes up in smoke when one of the first people she sees upon disembarking the plane is none other than Will Price himself.

Finding out that Will is a lot more involved in the festival than previously thought, Jo is ready to confront him about past remarks he made at the expense of her writing and books. Except, Will apologizes before she can confront him calling into question everything Jo has ever thought she knew about Will Price.

This book in the series is hands down my favorite. The star of the show here, for me, is the behind-the-scenes look at being an author at a book festival with all that entails including spending time with other authors - whom you may or may not get along with - as well as dealing with the fans - or lack thereof. It was an interesting take and something I'm sure Meg Cabot drew in part from being an author herself. I liked how Meg Cabot also seamlessly incorporates what Jo is experiencing on Little Bridge Island into inspiration for Jo's own work in progress. Seeing the muse take hold organically as the case may be.

The book is spread over the course of the festival weekend so three days and it reads really quickly. I kind of like the fact that we're following Jo and the rest for their entire trip/experience. It felt very "real-time" the way things happened. I also enjoyed seeing Will and Jo kind of seeing each other for the first time. Yes, they've met before, but those meetings have been clouded with their issues from the past and assumptions have sprung up in the interim. There's actually a lot they don't know about one another and I liked seeing them get a reset on that and seeing that there's more to the story than they previously thought about one another.

I will say, I did think that the ending was a bit anti-climactic. I liked where the story went, but I didn't feel any kind of tension as we headed into the ending. The story kind of just progressed as it would and ended how it would. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that and I supposed the conflict was seated in Jo's inability to write and with Will set up as her foil, but both of those things solved themselves rather quickly.

Overall, though, as I said this has been my favorite of the series. It works well as a standalone if you haven't read the other books.
