No Words is the third-ish* book in the Little Bridge Island series by Meg Cabot. I have read the previous two full-length novels (No Judgments and No Offense). While Little Bridge Island is a fictional island (part of the Florida Keys), I would visit here any day, and I’m happy to do so when reading the books in this series. I adore the premise of this book: Best-selling children’s author Jo Wright agrees to attend Little Bridge Island’s first-ever book festival as long as her nemesis, best-selling author Will Price (who lives there) won’t be in attendance. Well, as you can guess, despite news that Will Price is out of the country, he is indeed at the festival, and Jo has to come face-to-face with him about why she hates him. I mean, a book about authors and books and book festivals?! Yes, please!

No Words is a light, sweet enemies-to-lovers romance. I guess you could add in “slow burn,” but I had trouble connecting with the characters and their chemistry/attraction. Jo definitely had some steamy thoughts about Will, while still trying to hate him, but what I felt was missing was what they really liked about each other and how that came to be. There was a diverse set of minor characters, which led to some interesting sub plots. I loved getting a peek into the continuing lives of the main characters from earlier in the series (Molly and the Sheriff). No Words definitely fit the bill for a light, sweet romance, and I’m a sucker for reading every book in a series.

*I just found out TODAY that there is a Little Bridge Island novella that comes before Book 1: No Judgments!! What?!?

Such a light and fluffy read! I can always count on a fun book from Mamet Cabot! I loved this one and hope she keeps writing about little bridge island! Thank you netgalley for my free copy.

Cabot returns to the Florida Keys for the third book in her Little Bridge Island romantic comedy series and it's my favorite so far.

One of Cabot's strengths is her ability to create a setting that is so realistic and appealing that it has me wanting to pack my bags and hop a plane. She then populates that setting with a variety of quirky, endearing, frequently complex, and occasionally villainous characters who, by the end of the book, feel more like friends than fictional characters. Okay, maybe not the villainous ones but the others, definitely.

I really enjoyed the evolving relationship between Jo and Will. Cabot took the story in different directions that I originally anticipated, allowing both characters significant growth in the process. I was surprised to discover how much my opinion of each of them evolved as they did themselves.

I also loved how the author brought Jo's Kitty Katz, Kitten Sitter book series to life in this book. I wish it was a real children's book series. I have two five-year-olds in the family who would adore it!

It's obvious Cabot has attended her share of book conferences/festivals in the way she writes the details of Little Bridge's first book festival and the authors who are in attendance. I found myself laughing out loud many times and also missing those events, even the awkward and sometimes embarrassing moments that inevitably occur. Whether you've attended one or not, there is plenty in this one to both entertain and amuse.

While No Words is the third book of a series, and there are a few characters from the first two books who make appearances, it stands on its own and readers can jump in without missing a beat. If you enjoy upbeat rom-coms with well-developed characters, heart-tugging emotion, and plenty of humor, take a trip to Little Bridge Island with Meg Cabot's No Words.

This was my first *Adult* Meg Cabot book. I am a huge fan of some of her other work I read as a teen, The Mediator series, not Princess Diaries. So I wasn't sure what to expect with this one.

Two authors who have a shaky past end up on an island together and end up falling for each other. It was fun and quick but nothing special for me.

This romantic fiction is about a book festival in Little Bridge Island in the Florida Keys, focusing on the “enemies to lover” relationship between tween author Jo Wright and successful fiction writer Will Price. He had ridiculed her work to the New York Times and Jo has done everything in her power to avoid him - except he is organizing this book festival with a hefty stipend. Jo needs the cash and surprise, she sees him, they bicker, and on and on. I loved the location of the story, but other than that, Jo seemed very immature with her nonstop kitty references. Yeah, we get it that you write tween books about a kitty detective, but it really distracts from the story. Also, I felt it was not enough tension between the two main characters - it was obvious from the start he had a crush on her and she was overthinking everything. If you like a quick beach read with just 1🌶 , then this would be more your speed.

I think the book is decent. No Words follows Jo Wright a children’s author whose books were dissed by best selling author Will Price. The same Will Price she has to spend the next few days with during a book festival on Little Bridge Island. What could happen?

I did feel like the romance aspect fell a little short. I just wanted more from them. I wish the two love interest spent more time together building that kind of slow burn I look for in and enemies to lovers book. I feel like the attraction was always there but I wish it wasn’t so noticeable within the first few interactions the love interests had with each other. While the book was fact paced I feel like their relationship progressed really slowly. We also never really got a clear explanation on why Will said what he said about Jo’s books.

Jo was pretty annoying at times and just immature especially with her cat ringtone and inner dialogue saying things like purrfect. The pop culture references also made me cringe. But I loved the scenery of Little Bridge Island and getting to see all different types of writers and personalities interacting with each other. The book was very fact paced, easy to get through, and while a lot of Jo and Wills scenes did make me smile I wouldn’t say that their romance was anything more than ok. If your looking for a breezes and light romcom you might want to consider picking up No Words.

Although this book is a romantic comedy, Cabot incorporates some serious topics into the story, giving layers of depth. I particularly liked the descriptions of author/fan relationships, and the impact and influence that author's writings had on the lives of the readers of their books. One of the Little Bridge Island series, this book offers laugher and love in a literary setting, along with some quite thought provoking moments as well. This works well as a stand-alone read.

No Words by Meg Cabot is a very entertaining romance revolving around two authors attending a book festival. Will Price is a best-selling author, arguably of romance books, whose books always seem to get made into movies. Several years earlier he had inadvertently dissed children's author, Jo Wright, and her Kitty Katz books and plans to use this book festival to make up for that insult. Jo is still angry, plus she has finally kicked out her poor-excuse-for-a-boyfriend and is trying to re-home her ailing father to a better climate. Everything we need for a romantic comedy! He had already fallen twice this winter and broken his wrist each time. As it turns out, Little Bridge, Florida, is where Will Price lives and he is on the board of the Little Bridge Book Festival. The two of them making nice with each other will be nothing if not fun. Everything we need for a romantic comedy!

Meg Cabot thinks reading should be entertaining and she has certainly made that obvious in this book. The characters, like many authors, are all quirky, from their chosen genres, to their personal habits in dressing. The festival is popular. People have come from as far as Canada to meet their favorites and listen to them speak and read from their works. Cabot catches so much of what a real author talk can be and catches the personalities of some of the audience, as well. Most of the authors write for middle school audiences, but are read by all ages, just as in reality. This was a very amusing book, full of quirkiness and miscommunication. It is well written and worth the hours used in read it. I highly recommend.

Book Review: No Words (Little Bridge Island #3) by Meg Cabot

No Words is an adult contemporary romance novel about two successful authors who are thrown together on a small Floridian island during a book club convention.
Jo Wright almost turns down a chance to appear at the first annual Little Bridge Book Festival out of fear of running into her nemesis Will Price who insulted her books over a year before in an interview. But seeing Will Price on his home turf, figuring out his personality quirks and with his precocious teenage sister, Chloe, Jo finds her heart warming toward him.

This is an extra fluffy and sugary sweet book with little conflict or tension. Even the resentment Jo has toward Will is easily overcome and resolved. The surrounding characters like KellyJean (the kooky paranormal author) or Garrett (the children’s fantasy series writer who is constantly trying to pull coins behind people’s ears) are cliched and annoying. I didn’t feel any chemistry between Jo and Will although they are supposedly so hot for each other. And the excerpts from Will’s supposed best-selling novels were the worst books I’ve ever heard of and I’m relieved that they aren’t real.

This was a silly, forgettable book and could hit readers in just the right feels if they love warm breezes, authors and book conventions but it lacked depth of emotion for me.

I’m one of those who’s kicking and screaming when summer ends. It’s my absolute favorite season. That combined with the fact that this story takes place in the Florida Keys (Florida native here! 🙋🏻‍♀️) and I was ALL in! 😎😍

Review: No Words is an enemies-to-lovers romance about two authors who’ve never met before, but only know one another through their respective work. They meet at a book festival one weekend while on vacation.

I love a good vacation romance, and this one delivered in the sense that it was light and fun. There are some great side characters who I definitely hope get stories of their own soon. This is book 3 in a series, but can totally be read as a stand-alone.

I loved that this was a no drama romance and that it had a summertime feel to it. ☀️

If you enjoyed Beach Read, by Emily Henry, you would definitely like this book. I do wish it would’ve had a bit more 🌶🌶🌶 but that’s just me! I would for sure read this author again.

Pure Meg Cabot gold. No Words is the latest installment of the Little Bridge series. It features middle grade author Jo Wright as she travels to the Florida Keys for an all expenses paid book festival. It is just the break she needs. All she has to do is avoid the arrogant (yet handsome) author Will, whom she has a complicated past with. When she unexpectedly runs into Will, he seems to want to make amends for his past wrong doings but Jo is not so sure.

In true Meg Cabot fashion, this is a fast-paced rom-com of the highest degree - complete with witty banter, feel good characters, and some belly chuckles. The inside peak at a book festival from the author's prospective was a fun and enjoyable twist. Can't wait for more.

This was a fun, light hearted book, but I just didn't buy into the romance or feel like it was very compelling.

"No Words" is a cute, sweet rom-com. I liked Jo and her friends, especially on how supportive they are of one another. There was a lot of awkward moments and banter between Jo and Will, which I love. Although the third in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

I’ve been in a bit of reading slump lately and this book was exactly what I needed to get out of it! Fun, sexy, and oh so witty. Jo and Will’s relationship (hellooo enemies to lovers 😍) was slow to start, but so sweet when Jo finally realizes Will’s true feelings for her. As endearing and fun as all the secondary characters were, Jo was definitely my favorite! Her kind but fiery, independent personality was so fun to read. I also had no idea this book was part of a series! But it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Also can we talk about the setting in the Florida Keys! 😍 The setting definitely added to the overall warmth of the story. I received a copy of this book for review from NetGalley. I have been reading Meg Cabot for a scarily long time, so I have been looking forward to No Words. While I missed the next most recent book in the series, I have read the rest of them, yet still did not feel like I missed anything from the story. This is a cute, self-contained little story, with a mostly satisfying enemies to lovers plot. Despite the premise, this is a very low angst tale with two characters who just needed a little time and a push to get together. I wanted just a little more detail about why he screwed up so epically, but overall, I was happy with this book. It's sweet, funny, and a good mood booster.

I've loved Cabot's books for years so it takes no persuading to get me to pick up her new releases! She's an auto buy for me because her books are always entertaining and a great escape.

It was so fun being back on Little Bridge Island in No Words! This is the third in the series but can be read as a standalone. There are minor spoilers for the second book, but nothing you wouldn't expect anyway when you pick up a romance.

Main character Jo was so lovable and her inner dialogue had me cracking up. This book is an enemies to lovers, one of my favorite tropes because I love seeing the characters' opinions of each other change throughout the book. The jump from hate/major dislike to begrudging like/acceptance to eventually more is usually a pretty great journey and Cabot delivered in No Words.

The book takes place over a weekend at a book festival on Little Bridge Island, and had me wishing I could attend! I've never been to a book festival or author event before.

If you've loved Meg Cabot's books in the past or you love romance and women's fiction in general, I recommend adding this to your tbr. It's sweet and funny and will have you dreaming of a beach vacation.

Reading a new book in this series is like going back to your favorite place away from home. Little Bridge Island is host to a first time book festival showcasing their new library and love of reading. The story is chocked full of wonderful characters both new and returning from the previous books, fun locations, and surprising situations.

I loved the literary fans who attend the festival and share their love for certain book series and reasons why they were such avid fans. The atmosphere was so realistic that I found myself wishing such an event was actually an option for me. The flow between situations and characters seemed effortless and genuine.

I have to recommend this author and book! It was a lovely tropical escape and was over too soon. Meg Cabot is a terrific author that always leaves you satisfied. Many thanks to NetGalley and publisher William Morrow and Custom House for the opportunity to read and review this fun book.

Jo can't write anything and a lot of it is Will's fault, after his negative comments about her started a deep depression. She agrees to go to a book festival on Little Bridge Island hoping it will spark some inspiration. But then Will keeps showing up and is showing Jo that he might not be as bad as she thinks he is.

Will definitely reminded me of Nicholas Sparks when it came to the stories he wrote, Jo had an interesting children's book series about a cat that doled out life advice. I enjoyed each day at the festival and found myself rooting for Will and Jo despite it being such a short time period. This was a fun read that made me love Little bridge Island more than I already did.

No Words by Meg Cabot is an easy beach-type read about a book fair on Little Bridge Island in the Florida Keys. It’s the third book in a series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone. It follows the story of Jo Wright, who writes a popular series of children’s books about a kitten who is a babysitter. Jo is suffering from writer’s block and got offered a spot in the island’s inaugural book festival, she was originally going to refuse as the island is home to her arch nemesis, Will Price, but she decided to go after learning about the stipend along with the promise from her agent that Will would not be in residence and that the island would cure her writer’s block. She very soon found out, stepping off the airplane in fact, that Will was not only in residence – but that he also was very involved with the book festival (how her agents did not know this escapes me). Luckily, Jo has her best friend Bernadette with her as well as other writer friends who all seem to do the same book festival circuits.

I was always a big fan of Meg Cabot books when I was an early teenager, which is why I was eager to read this one as an adult reader. However, it is pretty obvious right from the start that this adult rom-com novel still reads like a lot of those books I used to read years ago. The writing just comes off very childish and leaves no room for anything to be thought about, everything is explained and over explained in detail. Jo herself is very childish and speaks in “kitty” talk, I get that she writes cat books, but she’s also supposed to be in her late 20s and she did not sound like it. Sounded more like a fourteen-year-old in her mannerisms and her dialogues with others.

There was also so much going on with the side characters, that it really took away from the main story of how Jo and Will overcome their differences to understand each other better. Their story almost seemed like another side story to all of the other pieces that were going on. It was way too much and too scattered all over the place, and not enough time spent to actually develop the characters. There was so much to Will’s past with his family and that was all glossed over in a chapter. I felt like I didn’t really get to know him on a deeper level or any of the characters really.

I would recommend this book for a very light, very easy beach read or read in the airport. Nothing memorable, but nothing terrible.

What a great story! An enemies to lover romcom that gives you all the feels.
Jo and Will are two best selling authors. A year previous to the start of the story Will stuck his foot in it when he had some not so pleasant about Jo’s book series.
Will takes care of his teenage sister who wanted to move to Florida from England to be on the dance team at Little Bridge Island school.
Using their new resident to their advantage the town puts together book festival. Jo is given offer she can’t refuse. Much to her surprise Will is in the same airport being picked up by the same person. Will the weekend be a disaster? How is she going to deal with the hostility she still holds for Will?
