This is the third in series of the "Colorado Wine Mystery" series and my favorite of the series.
Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley. My review opinion is my own.

Parker and her boyfriend are visiting a ski resort for a romantic Valentine's get a way together and to try to sell her wine to the resort . When a murder occurs of the resort owner Parker is the one who finds the body. Soon she is in danger and with the sale of her wine falling through due to the murder, Parker decides she must solve this crime.

With the background of a gorgeous ski resort the author has a well crafted sleuth with wonderful charcters. Parker is a smart investigator always finding clues others overlook. I enjoyed this next in series and look forward to the next book.

There was a lot of gorgeous scenery described in the description of the luxury ski lodge and resort, accompanied by a snowy mountain backdrop in Mulled to Death, It sounded amazing. This series is really great. It's a good story with well-developed characters, especially Parker, the protagonist. The book has cast of characters with suspect motives, and a romance that will keep readers turning pages late into the night. And the wine tastes delicious too.

Thank you Berkley Books and Netgalley for the ARC of this book. This was a honest review.

"Mulled to Death” by Kate Lansing the 3rd instalment in the “Colorado Wine Mystery” series. I really enjoy this series.
A Valentine's Day getaway is on the rocks when a young winemaker discovers a body at an alpine resort in this delightful cozy mystery.

I found myself engrossed in the story and reading it in a few days. It was entertaining, full of twists and turns as well as a few surprises.

I loved the characters which are well developed, especially Parker she makes a good protagonist. The secondary characters Reid, Sage, and Liam were likeable as well. I can’t wait to see what happens next, as the characters are really growing on me.

I recommend this book to all my cozy lover friends.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Berkeley Publishing and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved it! Warm wine, a cat, and a mystery set at a ski resort, what's not to love? The group of friends are close-knit and good-humored in a wholesome way. I was impressed with how the author smoothly dropped winemaking lingo that connected with the action going on. This was very fun to read!

Mulled to Death by Kate Lansing was a cute little cozy read. I enjoyed it, but I did not love it -- the writing was merely okay and the characters were decent.

Publisher’s Summary for Mulled to Death

When Parker Valentine decides to take a weekend getaway with her boyfriend Reid, a ski trip seems like the perfect choice. Between hitting the slopes and persuading the resort’s wine director to sell her mulled wine, Parker is eager to mix business with pleasure. But her plans are muddled when she finds the resort owner’s body on a treacherous portion of ski trail near the resort.

As a result, not only is Parker’s romantic weekend thrown into chaos, but now that the owner has died, her business deal is due for a frosty reception, and her life might be in danger as well. After a series of unfortunate mishaps befall Parker, she realizes that whoever killed the resort owner might want to tie up loose ends. Parker’s going to need all the investigative skills at her disposal to catch a killer before they put her on ice.

Why Did I Like Mulled to Death?

The characters

Parker Valentine, her boyfriend Reid, her brother Liam, and Liam’s girlfriend and Parker’s best friend Sage are spending Valentine’s Day weekend at Silver Creek Lodge in Silver Creek, Colorado.

Parker is the owner of Vino Valentine, a winery in Boulder. Parker is smart, but also still grieving the death of her Aunt Laura. Parker’s aunt always made Valentine’s Day special, and Parker is struggling not with her grief, which is magnified this time of year. Parker has yet to share her grief with Reid and this secret complicates their relationship.
Reid is owner and head chef of Spoons, a popular restaurant in Boulder. He’s always ready to help Parker when their vacation turns into a murder investigation. Their relationship grows throughout the novel. It’s obvious he’s in love with Parker and he shows it by his unwavering support.

Liam Valentine is Parker’s older brother. A budding photographer, he is stubborn when Parker tries to offer him business advice. She can get prickly when he hits home with comments he makes about her sleuthing. But, when it counts, they have each other’s backs. Plus, he’s a Dr. Who fanatic, which makes him a perfect fit for Sage.

Sage is also Parker’s best friend; they were roommates in college. This friendship is apparent throughout the book, as Sage does everything she can to help Parker solve a murder. Parker needs all of them to solve this latest murder.

Even while investigating a murder, this is a group of friends who knows how to have fun.
A strong cast of supporting characters gives the reader plenty of potential suspects to choose from. There are a lot of motives for murder among the employees of Silver Creek Lodge.

I really enjoyed the seting of this book. I havent read the first two books in the series, and while most cozy mysteries can be read without reading all the books, I think I would have enjoyed this one more if I had read them all. I had a hard time connecting to the characters, and really caring what happened to them.
Our main character Parker Valentine is one her way to a working vacation with her boyfriend, brother and best friend.. She has a meeting with someone she is hoping will purchase her wine, and hoping to enjoy the ski slopes as well.
When she stumbles upon the murder of a famous skier, it throws everyones plans out of whack.. I really enjoyed the mystery part of this story and had no idea who the murderer was until it was revealed..

🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5 stars

I have been on a serious cozy mystery kick lately and Mulled to Death is another great addition to my favorites list. The third in the Colorado Wine Mystery series, this book takes Parker Valentine on a ski trip with her boyfriend Reid. However, their romantic getaway is ruined when Parker stumbles upon the body of the ski resort owner.

The Colorado Wine Mystery series is a great series to introduce you to the cozy mystery genre if you are a newcomer. They are all easy to get into with lovable characters and twisty mysteries. This one is a solid addition to the series with the perfect balance of romance and murder. I cannot wait to see what Parker and Reid get up to next.

So grab a cardigan and a glass of wine and enjoy this perfectly cozy read.

I thought this book was ok. I felt like it was a bit slow in spots. I had a hard time really getting into it. The characters are okay. I was definitely surprised by who the killer was. #MulledtoDeath #NetGalley

Thank you to NetGalley, Kate Lansing and Berkley Publisher for allowing me to read and review an ARC of Mulled to Death!

This was an intense cozy mystery as Parker Valentine ventures to a ski resort to get a deal with them to purchase her wine. Unfortunately for her, shortly after her meeting Annmarie ends up dying leaving any sort of deal with the resort on hold. I was surprised with the dangerous situations Parker found herself in for a cozy mystery! I definitely couldn’t figure out who the killer was, but I had a fun time following Parker as she tried to enjoy her Valentine’s weekend with her boyfriend Reid. This is the first book I’ve read in the series but after reading this I want to check out the previous releases. This cozy mystery will be PERFECT to read during the wintertime with a nice glass of wine.

I will be posting my review the week of publication to Instagram.com/_nighttimereads.

Parker and Reid and Sage and Liam thought a Valentine ski trip would be just the thing to cheer up Parker and Liam after the death of their aunt AND that it might be a good opportunity to market her wine. That's before, once again, they find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation! Annemarie Bauer, a champion skier who owned the resort, is the victim but why? Cozy readers know that there's always more than one suspect and that there's more than one face to the victim. This group of four millennials (or are they Gen Z?) is very up to date on social media but also quite canny about how to nose out the bad guy. I liked that they were in a new setting. Fans of the series will be pleased that the resort has a cat but those who haven't read it will be fine- there's good back story. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's a fun read and I'm eager to know what this group of pals will get up to next.

A romantic Valentine's getaway at a ski resort with a side of murder? Who could say no to that?

Kate Lansing expertly crafted a novel where you care as much about the character's lives as you care about solving the mystery. The nerd-girl references made me deliriously happy (and David Tennant really *is* the best Doctor), the ski scenes made me feel like I was on the mountain (even though I've never graduated from the bunny slopes), and the resident cat was a snuggly delight. Personally, I'm not a wine drinker (are they going to take away my membership card if I admit that?) but I ***loved*** how wine and wine making facts were seamlessly incorporated throughout each chapter.

I'm usually pretty good at figuring out whodunit, but the misdirection was so subtle and artfully done that the killer slipped right past me. Right up to the big reveal (which - HELLO! That reveal setup was boss!) I was convinced it was someone else. Kudos for that!

With stan-worthy characters, a fun getaway setting, and a cunningly-plotted cozy mystery, MULLED TO DEATH is *chef's kiss*.

If you’re looking for a mystery with a snowy mountain setting, this is your book. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, but it’s always fun to me when the characters from a series visit a new location. That was the case in Mulled to Death! There was so much gorgeous description of the upscale ski lodge and resort. The whole time I was reading it, I was wishing I could go there.

The mystery in this one was also good, however Parker takes it upon herself to launch a full investigate into the murder. I myself prefer a little more natural sleuthing. Especially when the main character does not have a strong connection to the deceased. But the ending was good and I really enjoyed the book! Cozy mysteries make s great escape!

I was invited to read this book and it sounded pretty good by the book blurb so I was hoping to find a new series that I enjoyed.

I haven’t read the previous books so I know I was missing some background on the characters. Parker is on a Valentine’s Day getaway with her boyfriend and it turns out she’s still a sleuth even when she’s on vacation when the owner of the resort they’re staying at is murdered.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The mystery itself was interesting and I like Parker’s character, she’s observant and doesn’t necessarily single handed my do stupid things to solve the murder. However, I felt the writing was more telling and regurgitation of information instead of showing us details. Because of that, I had a hard time connecting with the book overall so I’m not sure that I’ll be reading any more by this author.

Thanks to Berkley and Netgalley for the widget, I always like trying new authors.

I recommend you read the previous books in the series before this one, as I did not, and I might have enjoyed it more.

It is a standard cozy mystery with all the hallmarks you expect. It was good but not great.

I have missed the earlier books in this series. It doesn't really matter as things are repeated. I felt at times that there was too much time spent on trivial things and that wasn't that much on the actual mystery. It seemed that some of the characters were almost stereotypes as well. It is a decent book but it really did not capture my attention.

How does a nice glass of wine sound? How about mulled wine, sweetened with honey and seasoned with the perfect blend of winter spices? Maybe a change of scenery? How about drinking this delicious mulled wine at a fancy ski lodge in a cozy little village tucked away in the mountains of Colorado? Oh, and let's get snowed in while we're there!

I LOVE mysteries where the main character travels and this was basically the perfect little vacation destination. Unfortunately the idyllic Valentine's Day getaway that Parker and Reid had planned, along with her best friend Sage and brother Liam, was marred by murder. No worries, Parker is on the case! After hearing the fatal incident and suspecting foul play, Parker uses her and Reid's connections to interview witnesses and track down clues. There are as many suspects as chairs on a ski lift and they move around almost as much!

Throughout the course of this book we see Parker's relationship with Reid continue to develop and we see Parker finally making her way down the mountain of grief she's been experiencing since the death of her beloved Aunt Laura. I think Aunt Laura would be proud of her progress. As a lover of wine and cozy mysteries I've enjoyed this series immensely and look forward to seeing Parker back at Vino Valentine.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

Thank you to @kmlansing, @netgalley, and @berkleypub for the chance to read an early copy of this third book in the Colorado Wine Mystery series!!

I started 2021 off right with Killer Chardonnay, the first book in the series. For me, this is now a must-read cozy mystery series. The wine descriptions and fun figurative language make the books unique.

Mulled to Death comes out on October 4th. I highly recommend that you add it to your TBR!! It takes place at a ski lodge during Valentine’s Day week, and Kate Lansing creates fantastically cozy and romantic ambiance! Winter is my least favorite season and I have never skied in my life, but I 100% wanted to be at this lodge, sipping mulled wine in front of a fire.

The mystery kept me guessing, and the threatening mood as Parker and her friends face danger kept me turning pages. I also liked that Parker worked with local law enforcement, for the most part.

Just to warn you, this book definitely has Valentine’s Day vibes. Nothing scandalous or anything, this is a cozy mystery! But definitely be prepared for lovey dovey moments. 😊 Personally, I love seeing Parker surrounded by people who support her. There are lots of exciting and positive times ahead for all the characters, and I can’t wait to read about them again!

Another great entry in this charming series! Parker Valentine goes on a ski vacation and of course encounters a murder. The characters are nicely drawn, the setting is immersive, and the mystery is twisty!
