I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

This was such a fun read!
3.5 / 5

Plot:
Although it was not the first time that I have heard a story about a person finding out about their family, I think that this book made the idea a bit more interesting and fresh.

Characters:
Maggie had it rough in the beginning there, but I felt like she was really able to find herself happiness throughout the book. Nick was so supportive in helping Maggie find her family, I thought that was so sweet. I really liked how they interacted with one another.

Overall thoughts:
This was a quick, funny read. There were so many enjoyable moments that made it just fly by.

The Love Note is a heartwarming romance with some very comedic aspects!

I loved the hidden love notes, especially the extra letter as that was incredibly romantic.

My favourite character was Pops, I cottoned on right away that he was a significant person and I loved him!

My Top 5 things from this book:

•The Extra Love Letters
•Second Chance Romance Trope
•Pops
•Rom-Com

I thought this book was good it had romance and a bit of a mystery about it.

Maggie finds herself back at her Mother’s house due to circumstances. Her Mother has not long died and Maggie has discovered a note pinned to the wedding dress that belonged to her Mother. Maggie decides to search for her Father and gets help from Nick who she had a crush on as a teenager. Will Maggie find her Father and will it end happily?

I enjoyed this book.

This is a second chance book for me, as I DNF'd You've Got Mail, Kate's debut. Unfortunately I think this is where our relationship will end.

I had roughly the same issues with this book as I did You've Got Mail – unlikeable characters who weren't well developed enough for me to root for them.

It's a no for me sadly.

Another absolute gem of a book. I couldn’t put this one down. I have devoured page after page of this one. Completely unwilling to put this one down.
This has kept my interest and made me want to read more by this author.

I don't enjoy posting negative reviews, but I found it impossible to find anything positive to say here. Sadly, The Love Note really did not live up to the description which accompanied the blurb -or maybe the reviewers quoted have very low standards when it comes to romantic fiction. This book is derivative and dull with clumsy and cliched writing, and a predictable story that is barely credible.

I hope this was an early version still to be edited because it really needs work to become a readable and engaging book. The cardboard-cut-out characters require fleshing out with some depth and originality. Currently the story is completely implausible; would our heroine have never done any family research online or asked friends/family about the family circumstances? Did she never apply for anything such as a passport where she would have needed a birth certificate that might have started her thinking? Did her mother bring up a family on fresh air or a trust fund? Would the sister who hates her miraculously change her attitude overnight?

Oh dear, dear...

This was a total NO from me, I dont even know why I finished it to be honest. I lost count of the amount of times I put it down, giving up but then deciding to plough on through.. it just felt like a slog the whole way through.

The characters actually angered me. Nothing these characters done, NONE of their actions were believable ..arrrrh even reviewing it is making me angry!

It felt rushed, their was no real development and the characters are just annoyingly stupid, naive and unrelatable.

Thanks to netgalley and Orion Dash for the ARC.

I love reading books which are set in the UK. I think, British humour is soooo under-rated and honestly, that was what I was hoping when I picked up this one. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like the book itself. It has a great plot and overall we see the much-needed character and relationship development, but for some reason, I was a little disappointed. It's a great read and the author has done a good job, but for me, the story felt a little dull and I was not expecting that.
A good one time read, but that's about it for me.

I love wedding themed books and this was a really beautiful read all the way through.
Premise

A wedding dress. A love letter. A secret that will change everything...

When Maggie Burnett discovers her mother's beautiful wedding dress just days after she passes away, she wonders why she'd been told it was missing...

Pinned to the waistband is a note that reads: 'E, je t'aime. LS x' . 'E' must be Elizabeth, her mother, but who is 'LS'? Could he be the father she's never known?

As Maggie's seemingly happy life in London unravels, she decides it's time to go home to Norfolk and figure out the truth once and for all. Even if it means running into Nick Forster, her secret childhood crush. What if this journey to the past is the key to a new beginning?

I loved everything about this book. The wedding theme and mystery behind her mother’s dress, the Norfolk setting as that’s were my boyfriend happens to be from , and also Nick Forster her childhood crush was the icing on the cake to make this the perfect romantic read.

After finding romantic love letters hidden away in her dead, alcoholic mother’s wedding dress, Maggie searches for answers to questions she’s been asking herself her whole life. On the quest to find her dad, she reunites with old friends, an old crush and her childhood home full of unforgiving memories, all of which help her journey of self-exploration.

This book was a joy to read, and I devoured it in a day. A mix of likeable and unlikeable characters motivate (for better and for worse) and support the protagonist. Sometimes I felt like yelling at Maggie because some of her choices seemed infuriating and naive, however in some ways, it made the ending seem more satisfying, having gone through that build-up. The writing was also, at times, quite cliché, but that made it easy to get sucked into the blossoming romance and fantasy she was searching for.

This book reminded me of The Lost Storyteller by Amanda Block, except without the fairy-tale element. The Love Note is the perfect easy summer read that will have you sucked into the sweet story.

I loved this book and read it with a couple of sittings. It was easy to read with some very likeable characters and some not so likeable characters. A story of heartbreak, family secrets and a hint of romance and humour.

Perfect for reading by the side of the pool or on a beach.

I actually enjoyed this quite a bit more than I thought I would.
It tells the story of family secrets, love and loss. There are characters you instantly dislike, characters you love and characters that surprise you. I thought I was sure what was happening in the book and I was completely surprised at the end. Its a good read.

Maggie, divorced, has found her dead alcoholic mothers wedding dress. It was thought it was missing. Attached to it is a note with initials on. She believes one is her mother but the other is a mystery.

Its quite an emotional but heart-warming. The relationship she had with her friens brought some much needed humour to the storyline. Its a fun read, perfect beach reading.
