I thought this book was cute. I think Annie was easy to admire—she’s very career driven and accomplished—but hard to relate to. I liked her with Dax. I liked watching her figure out what she needed to make her happy in life and in love. The fact that Dax left to live his dream as a musician was a nice twist, as was the fact that Annie sought help with her concierge doctor practice. Unfortunately, the ending was a bit dull for me. I understood what Hammerle was doing but it dampened their love. The men who responded to her drunk text provided some contrast to Dax. Darius was ok; a little too stiff in my opinion. Rob was, I believe, intentionally bland, more friendship material so that part was well done. I liked Annie’s friend but thought Kelly was a bitch. I wished she’d been more mature about their friendship.

This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!

Annie came across as a bit one dimensional, and like she was always looking at the greener grass on the other side of the fence. I wanted to like this book but just couldn't.

this one was funny and adorable. I loved the love story and it made me laugh so many times. I was unsure at first since it was a bit slow but once it picked up I couldn't put it down.

I just loved this book. It was so easy to get lost in and I just loved meeting these characters. I look forward to seeing what’s next from this author.

3.5 stars rounded up. This was better than I thought it would be. It was several different tropes mushed together but it worked. I liked all of the characters and the message of the story. It was unrealistic but for a romcom that’s not a dealbreaker. I really enjoyed it.

I love this title and the story was fun. Our main character texts all men on her phone when drunk after hearing her best friend is getting married and moving out. For me the relationship side of this book was a bit dramatic at times and the main character made some odd choices, but it was a fast and fun read.

I'm sorry but no. This book made me feel so frustrated. Like I was irritated at every chapter. That's not how I want to spend me time while I'm reading a romance book. It should be a light read, not an annoying one.

It's Raining Men is really lacking things for me. It wasn't a terrible read, bur it's not my favorite either. The only thing I liked about the main protagonist, Anne, was that she was career driven. And I'm all for work-life-balance tropes, but Anne as a character wasn't really ine I would root for other than the fact that I know she is supposed to be the protagonist. I felt sorry for the men in this book honestly. I feel like Anne didn't appreciate the things she had. There's a difference between wanting better for yourself and using others for a selfish end with no growth. Not the romance I was really hoping for...

This wasn’t really my cup of tea but I had a fun time reading it. The writing was really good though and I would read more from the author.

This book had me hooked from page one. I consumed it in about one day, and it was so fun to read. Have already recommended to friends!

This book was a cute read but definitely read as more NA than a woman who's almost 40. I liked Dax so much and he's honestly the only reason this book didn't end up a DNF for me. the way that Annie was treated by all of the people around her was beyond ridiculous.

This book was not for me. I tried so hard to get into it but felt the writing was lackluster. It was a DNF for me.

I was SO pleasantly surprised with this one. Overall, this is about a successful female doctor that is tired of being lonely, ready to marry/settle down & is choosing between 3 men (after sending out a drunken mass text 😂). It was ADORABLE. It was light & fun with quick chapters that had me laughing out loud. While the ending is pretty predictable, it didn’t make this any less lovable. Plus, this would be perfect for Netflix, I’m just sayin.

The author added trigger warnings in the beginning too which is always a thoughtful touch.

So if you need something light & fun, check this one out!

& biggest thanks to @entangled_publishing & @juliehammerleauthor for sending me the e-copy of this for my review!

Ok, I intensely disliked the "BFFs" of the MC h, especially Kelly. She especially was immature, all about HER and she was unable to communicate appropriately about what she needed and expected in their friendship.

I did, however, LOVE the protagonist. SHE knew how to communicate and to be a rational, considerate adult. Also, she is not a youngen', she's pushing 40, which is AWESOME to see. I like seeing older women finding love and being successful in their chosen career and not NEEDING to have children as soon as they can. It's refreshing.

I also liked the love interests. All of the characters were realistic, even to the point of me wanting to shake some sense into Kelly.

The ending wasn't "And they all lived happily ever after", which I also liked. It ended WELL, but it didn't end all picture perfect and tied up in a bow. It was realistic.

That being said, the BFF brought it down 2 stars for me, BUT the MC h brought it back up to a full 4 stars. She was just so AWESOME (slight book crush on her brain and attitude, not gonna lie).

This is one I will definitely be recommended at the store. We have a huge romance readership and I don't think my issues with the BFF will be seen as a problem by other readers, so this is one I will be suggesting to our readers, for sure!

My thanks to NetGalley and to Entangled Publishing LLC/Amara for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is an entertaining, laugh out loud rom-com that centres around 40-year-old Annie Kyle, an extremely successful doctor who is so busy with work she doesn't really have much of a life.. When her roommate gets engaged and moves out Annie realises how lonely she actually is, She then goes to the local bar and after having way too many drinks, sends a drunk text, the kind we all cringe about the morning after. Basically telling every male contract in her phone that she is lonely, scared of becoming a spinster and is in want of a husband.. Oddly enough she has a few acceptances and her adventures begin.

It was an entertaining read, but I think it could have been so much better. Her group of friends in the book don't really have personalities, in fact Kelly especially was a bit of a bitch, and I didn't feel myself as a 40 year old woman, on the same level as any of them. And I am guessing I should be the target audience.

It is the first book I have read by the author, I would definitely read other books by her but I would just hope to enjoy it more.

What first drew me to the story was the cute cover and its intriguing premise. I was excited to read about a career-focused woman in her 40s finding love and dove right in. Unfortunately, the story wasn't at all what I expected. I had a hard time connecting to any of the characters and the romantic aspects of the story left me unimpressed. Annie wasn't the kind of character I enjoyed getting to know and having her being romanced by Roy, Darius and Dax wasn't at all what I had conjured. I found all the men lacking and felt that Annie sold herself short in even considering them as partners.

The writing was good and the story had potential, I just think that the characters should have been developed further and made to feel more realistic instead of one-dimensional and unappealing.

All in all, not the story for me.

So, this was a charming story about Annie, a 40-year old doctor that sends a drunk text to some men on her phone book looking for someone that wants to settle down with her because she feels like she's running out of time, and boy have I been there!
Although, the characters themselves did not shock me to the core, the whole story felt cute at parts but the main romance didn't resonate with me at all, maybe she was better off alone.

I really enjoyed this book. Annie is nearing forty and after one of her best friends throws her for a loop, she gets drunk and texts all the men in her life about wanting to settle down. To her horror the next morning, she has numerous rejections, but two that are intrigued.

This book wonderfully combines romance and friendships. I think one of the relationships that had my heart breaking the most throughout the book is Annie and her best friend Kelly. The two of them and Yessi have been friends for decades, and Kelly is pulling away from the two of them. Annie tries to navigate this change in friendship and how relationships evolve, while also juggling her dating (or marriage) prospects.

I loved how the different men represented different possibilities - the safe boy next door Rob and the charming and career driven Darius. What takes Annie by surprise is the young and hot bartender Dax.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, and read through it rather quickly as I didn't want to put it down. I loved the last bit of the book where Annie goes through her options, what could work or what couldn't. And I love her realizing that maybe she's focusing on the wrong thing.
