I really had a good time reading this book!

Annie is almost 40 years old and her bff gets engaged.. and she starts to realize that her dream of growing old and single with her friend isn't going to work out. She drinks a bit too much and propositions almost all the men in her contacts.

It was fun to watch Annie date a few men and try to figure out her life. I loved the love interests but I am very glad she ended up with the man she ended up with! He was always my favorite.

If you are looking for a romcom and with lighten your heart and make you laugh out loud, then pick this one up!

Thank you to the publisher for my copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.

This was unfortunately not to my taste and I didn't enoy it. It felt juvenile and not well written. Hopefully next book will be better.

This was seriously so cute!!!! I loved that this author is keeping up with the times (mentioning Covid) and I feel like that will become a née normal moving forward!

Absolutely wonderful story you will want to read. Truly enjoyed this story about 3 best friends that are facing changes in their lives and their friendship. Yessi’s is a lawyer, married and just had a brand new baby. Annie is a concierge doctor who is on call 24/7. Kelly a real estate agent that has been Annie’s roommate. Kelly has been gone 3 months to take care of her sick parents and Annie is excited to have her back home since she has found herself to be lonely. Annie receives quite a surprise when Kelly comes back. Kelly is engaged and is moving away. Yessi is busy with her new baby.
Upon receiving the news Annie responds with getting drunk and sending out a text to 39 men to see if any of them are interested in marriage and settling down. She wakes to find the bartender has brought her home and tried to stop her texting.
Will Annie find a partner? Will their friendship end as they all move on with their lives?

Thank you to Netgalley for complimentary copy.
Highly Recommended!

Everything was going well until COVID was mentioned, I get that it’s the current big news but for me, it ruined the rest of the book.

Other than that, it was enjoyable but rather average. I really liked the main character and her development but the constant back and forward between the love interests just got boring and repetitive. A fun romance, but not one I would read again

It's my first time reading a book by the author. It's a lighthearted and fun read. Annie and Dax's story is entertaining, funny and romantic. Their banter was witty and refreshing. Their characters were quirky, relatable and easy to connect with. I enjoyed this one.

This book was read thanks to NetGalley, NetGalley didn't influence my review.

I liked it and I didn't like it, I liked the premise but the lead woman, somehow was so distance from me when she was supposed to be relatable, I related to the love life being a mess but the rest her life and interactions seemed so non-believable that I ended it reading it more because I wanted how the author could been loyal to the original premise.

I finished this book yesterday! It was so entertaining. Annie is a successful concierge doctor, at almost 40 she thought her and her best friend would be single and grow old together. They both hadn't met anyone yet. So when her friend tells her she is engaged she ends up drinking a bit too much and texting almost all the men in her contact list with a proposition.

This book was adorable. What Annie thought would be a great idea, since two of the recipients of the text were interested, ended up being different than she thought she needed. She dated both men for awhile but there was another man in the running that came out of nowhere.

This was a cute story that it's never too late to fall in love (I'm 40 it's not old but if you want kids you add 20 blah blah blah), you can be in love when it's complicated, you can say no even when it would be convenient.

Annie's lesson helped others find their partner as well. So maybe drunk texting isn't always bad. (It's mostly bad)

Thank you @entangled_publishing and @netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

One drunk-text leads to one HOT mess but every mess deserves a sweet cleanup. Right?
This was a rom-com based on Annie, who is about to turn 40yo which we hear over-and-over again. It took a long time to get into and like other reviewers noted, really caring about the characters was not happening…at that point in the story. However, I was obliged to review the book so I kept reading. About one third into it, I began to get it. I just don’t know how many readers would hang in there that long.
After Annie gets some very surprising news, her world is shaken. She drinks too much, makes a drunken decision and the next day pays the consequences. I’m not going to tell you more because it is really great getting to the best parts of this story. Just hang in there in the beginning. You’ll be rewarded. Tied up in the end with a beautiful bow! The book was written with lots of vignettes woven together by Annie and her best friends, Kelly and Yessi along with her mom and other neighborhood friends. Besides them there are her male love interests to keep her mess boiling over.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through NetGalley/Entangled publishing. The second two-thirds of the book make up for the first third. Just saying…

Annie is happy with her life, but has been feeling lonely when her roommate and friend Kelly is away. When she finds out that Kelly is getting married and moving away, she has too much to drinks and sends a text to a lot of men, telling them that she is wanting to settle down and get married, and wants to know if they are interested. Two men respond that they are so she starts to date them both.
Along the way shes meets bartender Dax, who is much younger than her, but who she actually had chemistry with.

Which man will she end up with?

A great read.

A really fun read with lots of laughs, a bit of real talk, a bit of angst, and some happily ever after. I truly enjoyed the journey on this one, getting to know the varied cast of characters, the men, the friends, and the family. Nobody was perfect but that wasn't what this was about anyway. Just a really great read about accepting yourself and expecting more. #netgalley #itsrainingmen

REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
It’s Raining Men by Julie Hammerle
Advanced Copy

Never read before - Finished 29/07

Annie - she has everything she’s ever wanted; amazing friends, a successful career, a mother that lives JUST far enough away so that she doesn’t drive her too crazy… she doesn’t have time for anything else, so why rock the boat when she‘a content?

But Annie isn’t the one in control of when her boat gets rocked; a few surprises in her normally uneventful life leave her with a night she doesn’t remember … and multiple single men replying eagerly to her rather forward drunken text message suggesting marriage - wait, what? Annie doesn’t do stuff like that! WHAT is happening? And… what does she do next?

It’s raining men is a fun romantic comedy, that made me smile and swoon. Annie is a loveable character, and is very real - I feel lots of people can connect with her. Plus, the men who she entangled herself in within this book are also amazing and relatable. I enjoyed reading about them all, and appreciated the author giving us insight to their backstories so we understood not only Annie’s life, but theirs as well.

This book started off a bit slow for me (a lot of time in the beginning establishing Annie’s various connections with friends and family and work), but once the rom com stuff started (approx 25% in), I was hooked. Definitely for the fans of classic 90’s rom com movies!

Thank you @netgalley @entangled_publishing and @juliehammerleauthor for the gifted advanced e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review & rating!

Annie is closing in on 40. She is very happy working as a concierge doctor but has not much going on in her personal life. When her best friend announces her engagement (Annie didn't even know she was seeing someone), Annie sends a drunk text to all the men in her phone. She wants to settle down and is looking for someone who wants the same. Responses start rolling in when she sobers up and she is forced with taking action. Split between three awesome guys, Annie needs to decide what she wants.
Opinion
This book is a laugh out loud riot. Throughout the whole book, Annie found herself in situations that were either pitiful or hilarious and sometimes both. I absolutely love the writing style of Julie Hammerle and am quite happy to learn she has a whole repertoire of books for me to delve into.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

The premise of ITS RAINING MEN by Julie Hammerle is what drew me to the book as it is something I haven't explicitly read before and I could just imagine it being hilarious and I was not disappointed. The concept of sending a broadcast text in the middle of a drunken life crisis landed all the laughter punches in the right places. Dr Annie Kyle is a dedicated concierge doctor and has put her career before everything else. So when her best friend and roommate decides to get married out of the blue, Annie spirals into her own version of a mid-life crisis.

I don't read age gap romances usually, but this was good. Usually, I have seen MCs compromise on their dreams with the scene on the lines of the partner being more important which I don't mind but it was refreshing to see characters not give up their lifelong dreams and still keeping the love alive. The beginnings of steam scenes were written extreme well. I like the conversations with each man she decides to date after the text message fiasco. The book strongly focused on finding love at a "later" age trope and delivered. It brought upon an important question of stability and passion and how the importance of each works within a relationship and I'll be honest, I wouldn't know what to choose.

I really disliked Kelly, which I guess means that the character was written well. While I had zero qualms about what she was doing with her life, her passive aggressiveness with her best friend, Annie, was really annoying after a point. There were too many moving plot points throughout the book which could have been avoided. I would have rather had more men respond to the broadcast text, with all their dates and misadventures, instead of some other side plots in the book. The book is primarily about Annie and that's how I read it. I liked the man she ended up with, but It was her journey to it that mattered to me. Though I would have appreciated it if the journey didn't have so many sidetracks and had more men pursuing Annie.

Still, I was satisfied with how it ended and I think my favourite part was Annie figuring out what she wanted and not giving up and adjusting to what others wanted for her (It was a very Bridget jones-y moment for me).

This book was royally meh. The characters weren’t that interesting & it ended exactly how you would expect. There’s also a series of odd, vague COVID references starting 3/4 of the way through that don’t actually go anywhere or serve any purpose.

This is my first book by Julie Hammerle, but I LOVED it. It was so cute, kept me really entertained and interested in what was going to happen, and it was a quick read.

Dr. Annie Kyle lives for her work. She is on call for her job basically 24/7, so she doesn't really have a huge social life or the flexibility to be able to go on dates or do as she wishes at any time. One night after a fun evening out at a bar, Annie has too many drinks and sends out thirty-nine texts to guys in her phone saying she is ready to settle down and get married! Some guys respond, and their responses will shock you. Will she really marry someone that she sent out that text to?

What a fun storyline for a book. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, and I would highly recommend it as a beach read. It is so sweet.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of Its Raining Men in exchange for my honest review! This was a wild ride! I love a good rom com and this one is no exception! 10/10 people!!

I thought this book was so cute and relatable. It's hard finding a true partner and this book shows that and more. I loved the main character and how she acted like she was too busy for a man. This was a fun and flirty romantic comedy. This is what happens when you make a marriage pact with two completely complex different men. It's a problem when you drink and text men. Don't do it, this heroine did and she had mass complications. I loved this book and I hope others will too. I voluntarily read this book.

I started this book as my ‘read 30 minutes before bed’ book and ended up reading for 3 hours. I could not stop flipping pages and regretted nothing.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for the eARC of #itsrainingmen

I expected to have a fun time with this book but I did not expect to become obsessed with Annie’s story. Annie is a workaholic that hasn’t been lucky in love. After her best friend gets engaged, she drunkenly decides she’s ready to settle down and texts every unattached man in her contact list. Two respond: A childhood friend, Rob and a new celebrity acquaintance, Darius. She gets to know both men to see if she is compatible with either, despite Dax’s, the young bartender she is slowly befriending, warnings (both know the situation so no lying 🤥 here).

Highly recommend for my rom-com lovers!

Adult content note: moderate language, one short mildly steamy scene with the rest being closed door 🚪 bedroom scenes.

A fitting book for this rainy weather, It's Raining Men by Julie Hammerle came out yesterday and I can't recommend it enough!
The main character is 39 years old, a successful concierge doctor who is tired of her friends pairing off and getting married. She drunkenly sends a message to 39 guys in her phone saying she wants companionship and marriage with someone who isn't going to be threatened by her career, and two men respond that they are interested. Of course then the hot bartender who joins her for trivia comes into the picture...
I love when romance books have characters older than their 20s who are successful in their careers but still looking for love, and the trivia nights in this one made me long for my pre-COVID Tuesday night bar trivia outings with my girlfriends. Check this one out!!
Thanks to @netgalley and @entangled_publishing for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion - it's available now.!
