History, mystery, and a pair of twins are woven together into a fun and endearing read.

Agatha and Christie are twins, growing up in the 1920's, and each one is so different from the other. While one is out-going, the other prefers to be more alone. While one is into adventure, the other loves her books. But these differences only make them work that much better together, which is proven in this tale time and again. Their relationship, as well as the ones with those around them, are wholesome and warm. Yet, there's enough intrigue and secrets to make it exciting, too.

The author weaves in famous individuals, which readers may or may not already know (but this offers a great opportunity for them to discover them and learn more) and gives them personality along with a few, tiny bits of information. While this is set in the 1920's, it still keeps enough familiarity to grab modern kids and hold their interest. And the wonderfully done illustrations, which also stick to the time nicely, and it does a nice job at drawing into the time period, while keeping a story which grabs.

While the mystery itself is more of a simple one, it still isn't clear what's going on. Young readers will wonder what happened, while enjoying the two main characters and following them along as the girls try to figure out the answer.

This is a lovely read for those who have a good handle on their words but aren't quite ready for a full-fledged middle grade novel. And it's a great beginning to a new series.
I received an ARC through Netgalley.

I received an e-book copy of A Discovery Disappears through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A cute and fun children’s story about twins Agatha and Christie. It’s quite clearly hinted that they’re probably meant to become Agatha Christie the writer some day.πŸ” But currently they’re two children solving mysteries and collecting material for future book. 😊
It’s both fun for children and grown-ups who’ll recognise the hints to some well-loved literary heroes!πŸ˜‰

Thank you so much to Sweet Cherry Publishing for having this earc available to read and review.

This was adorable twins Agatha and Christie couldn’t be more different in personality but both have a shared interest in solving mysteries. When Aggie is invited by their elderly neighbour to meet her idol Sir Conan Doyle, she is so excited, but at the tea party a crime occurs, giving her a mystery that she needs to solve so she recruits her sister to help solve it before it’s too late.

I adored these girls they were so precious and such incredibly well created characters. I loved the simplicity of the crime, I loved that it had such a fun lesson throughout, I loved solving it with them not knowing who was the culprit or why.

The illustrations oh my goodness there are no words to describe how much I loved Roberta Tedeschi illustrations. I was perfectly set back in the 1920’s whilst reading because of her incredible talent, the clothes, the hair styles, the houses, the rooms oh my goodness it was wondrous and beautiful and honestly made this book even better than it already is.

This is such a great book and I know it will be loved by so many kids when they start reading and are enjoying solving this mystery with Agatha and Christie. I look forward to venturing with these girls again on a new mystery as I loved this one.

(Have to say, I've never been disappointed by a book from them!)

The artwork by Roberta Tedeschi is throughout the book and is gorgeous as that of the cover art and adds so much to the first tale of Christie and Agatha and I have a feeling anyone who reads this adventure will be eager for more from the twins.

Set in the 1920s, Christie and Agatha whilst looking alike though not identical according to Agatha, the two are from from typical little girls, are you surprised though, really? Christie is fascinated by science and has a true love of being outside climbing trees and inadvertently getting herself into trouble with their neighbour whereas Agatha loves to read, a perfectly innocent thing you would presume but Agatha loves mysteries and idolises Sherlock Holmes.

They're different but perfect on every way, and the two sisters are a force to be reckoned with when they work together - much to the pleasure of their mother who clearly encourages them not following the rules set in place by others for her children.

In 𝐴 π·π‘–π‘ π‘π‘œπ‘£π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘¦ π·π‘–π‘ π‘Žπ‘π‘π‘’π‘Žπ‘Ÿπ‘ , we are introduced to some very famous faces, albeit only one us famous when Agatha and Christie first encounter them. I'm loathed to ruin the story with spoilers but you will meet some scientists, a writer and a couple who are the height of fashion and really good fun!

Through an accident, Agatha calls upon her sister to aid her in discovering a mystery when time is against them and they do it in style.

I loved this book, I can see it being a hit for anyone who loves mysteries and the mixing of fact with fiction in children's books. Pip Murphy has given us two new heroines for young sleuths to love, whether it being read to, or by being curled up with a light under their duvet. I just wish my children were young again to watch they curiosity unfold as we turn the pages.

What a wonderful introduction to detective fiction for younger readers. My daughyers age 8 and 9 adored this story. They loved the twins Christie and Agatha (although clueless to the actual Agatha Christie!), one twin with an adventurous spirit and extrovert character, the other nore introvert and bookish, but both with enquiring minds and detective noses! In the course of this adventure they meet to world renowned scientist Dr Fleming and author Sir Conan Doyle and help track down some life saving mould juice. Lots of clues and guesses were given throughout to keep us all in suspense. The promise of the Girls own detective agency at the end promises more exciting adventures in future. We will definitely be reading them all!

Mixing fact and fiction this is a super story to introduce kids to the Detective genre. It's very easy to read and contains enough interest to keep kids attention without swamping them with difficult language or unnecessary detail. Although the protagonists are both female this book would clearly appeal to both boys and girls.
The fast paced, but not scary, storyline would make a great bedtime read for a child wanting the next stage on from a picture book.
