In most of the books in this series, librarian Carrie Singleton is cautious, intelligent and discreet when she tries to investigate a murder. She asks questions, listens to what people say and discusses the case with the local police chief. This time for some reason, Carrie become TSTL (too stupid to live) while solving the murder of a local, well-liked doctor. I hope it is not too late for Carrie to return to her prudent ways on the next case.

This is my first time reading a book by this author. I loved it and looking forward to going back and reading this series from the beginning. I love Carrie and the rest of the town. The author makes you want to live in the town with everyone. Carrie is a relatable person and she’s someone who I would want to be friends with in real life. The author kept me guessing until the end. I love having a challenge when trying to figure who the killer is!

I really wanted to enjoy reading this book as I've read books by the author previously however I struggled as words were missing and letters weren't in the copy that I downloaded to my kindle making it hard to read.

Thank you for the arc.

Everyone loves a good wedding and librarian Carrie Singleton can't wait for best friend, Angela and boyfriend Steve to tie the knot. With a fabulous bridal shower and rehearsal dinner already planned everyone knows the wedding itself will be lovely. As family and friends gather however, one of them won't get to wave the happy couple off on their honeymoon and Carrie finds herself investigating another death in her small town of Clover Ridge.

With more suspects than she knows what to do with, along with as many motives Carrie enlists the library's resident ghost, Evelyn, to help her out. The spectre has her own problem she wants help with and the mayor is also after Carrie's assistance with something far more official. Rushed off her feet and trying to please everyone she is delighted to be able to go home to her lovely cottage each evening with cat Smokey and boyfriend Dylan to discuss everything with them.

This is the fifth in the Haunted Library mystery series and although the first I've read it certainly didn't feel that way. I was immediately engaged by the storyline and the characters were varied and entertaining as was the crime and its perpetrators who I was nowhere near guessing by the end. There is no need to read the previous books but if they are as good this then it would be a shame not to.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. This is a very enjoyable, well written read.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free ebook of this title in exchange for my review.

This book is #5 in a cozy mystery series. I've read the series on and off, so I am familiar with the setting and characters, and have overall enjoyed the series. However, this is one of the many cozy series I've read that seems more unbelievable than others. This book is no different.

This is a fairly light, fun series, taking place in a very fictional lighthouse library.

Nothing like a murder at a wedding to get everyone stirred up and suspecting each other! Good thing Carrie and crew were present so they could jump on the investigation right away! Superb characters down to the fluffy grey cat that are both intelligent and capable to help sort the clues out on the plethora of suspects! Add in an enticing plot and you have a book that is a must read. The series is an excellent one with a library as it's main setting so I do recommend starting with the first book so you don't miss out on any of the reading fun in the series as well as the character development along the way, but you could technically just read this book and still enjoy it!

This is book number 5 in "The Haunted Library Mysteries" series and my first one to read of this series. I haven't read many paranormal cozies yet and I really want to expand those. I thank Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for this opportunity to delve into a, for me, new paranormal Cozy!

As I said, this is my first book of this series. I found that is was very easy to read this book as stand alone. There are some references to earlier books, but nothing that makes you think you missed something. Carrie Singleton is the protagonist of this series and she is well loved in the community. So well loved that they want her to be on the board. She herself doubts that she is the person to do this.

Next to all of that she needs to help her best friend Angela get ready for her wedding. A wedding with a deadly end, when one of the guests, Aiden Harrington, the husband of Angela's cousin drops dead. Carrie is being asked to help with solving the murder and also the chief of police is somewhat happy with her help, as well as asking her to stay out of it. A typical Cozy Mystery. The murder plot itself was great and I was doubting between to people who might have done the murder. I loved the story!! It was actually filled with romance, jealousy, fraud and lots more!

Evelyn is the library resident ghost. In this book she has her own side plot and isn't that present. Other paranormal cozies that I have read have their paranormal more present, but I liked this as well. Maybe Evelyn is more present in other books, but again, I haven't read the others (yet). I liked all the characters and the way this book was written. It read very quickly and due to the story you want to continue reading. I would certainly recommend reading this book and I will read the other books in this series!

When Carrie Singleton attends her best friend Angela's wedding she doesn't expect one of Angela's family to end up dead. Now she must help the family figure out if one of their own did it.

Another sweet instalment by Allison Brook that saw Carrie Singleton really find her place as a character in Clover Ridge. The story moved through at a reasonable pace and had a diverse range of suspects to consider.

The children portrayed in the book are very unrealistic. The story moves nicely. Murderer was quiet predictable.

Entertaining read with fun characters, even if the setting is old and stale. Decently written but plot was predictable and murderer was obvious long before the ending unfortunately.

I received a copy of Death on the Shelf through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Death on the Shelf is the fifth mystery in the Haunted Library Mysteries series. In this cozy mystery, library event coordinator, Carrie Singleton, finds herself wrapped up in another search for the killer when a man dies right in front of her at her best friends wedding.

I have read every book in this series and I have really enjoyed them all, this book was no exception. I enjoy the setting of Clover Ridge, really like and connect with the characters in this series and love the friendly ghost in the library element. This book, and series, is definitely worth the read and I would definitely recommend this series. I really enjoyed Death on the Shelf and look forward to seeing what is next in this series.

Great series and author. This is one of my favorite authors. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend doing so. Read her books in order also.

Death on the Shelf is the first book I’ve read in this cozy mystery series. And although I liked Carrie, the main character, I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I thought the mystery was well done and the plot twist was good.. For me, there was too much description about every single thing she ate. And the writing was a bit flat. I wish I had read an earlier book as I may have enjoyed it more. 2.5 stars

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an advanced copy.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Carrie is a librarian full time who moonlights as Clover Ridge's amateur investigator and private detective...aka the town's nosy, know-it-all resident. Quite unrealistic to think the police department would allow an everyday jane to solve their cases, yet if there's a problem, Carrie is always in the right place at the right time. At Carrie's best friend Angela's wedding, Angela's cousin's husband Aiden drops dead at the dessert table. Chaos ensues and fingers are pointed whodunit, alerting Carrie to get on the case.

This book is all over the place with multiple storylines: two deaths, accusations of infidelity, family conflict, dead beat dads, a library ghost (with her own storyline), Carrie's cat Smoky Joe and her own budding relationship with Dylan. Perhaps it was hard to follow because I didn't read the previous four books.

Very well written mystery. Very good suspense and climax at the end. Great plot twist to who the killer was. Would recommend to a friend.

I liked this one. But With this one, I feel like that the series itself has ran its course at least for me. But the book like previous books in the series was well written and the mystery aspect of the book kept me on my toes.
