There are vampire stories, then there are gory out of this world vampire stories. Fortunately for me, this is the good kind of vampire story, the kind I like. Yes, you have to suspend some belief to "like" vampire stories, but when I read these, I realize that HER problems are much larger than MY problems and can lose myself in following her as she works through this new experience and learns how to move under the radar of those who would hunnt her. Plus, feed the kids, do the laundry, go to work.....all that "other" stuff. So yes, this is a good escapism book and well worth your time to read and enjoy!!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, author and publisher for a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Kate goes outside for her break when on night shift the last thing she expected was 1 to be attacked, 2 that the strange blood guy from the hospital basement would turn out to be her hero and 3 that she would become a vampire, but that is exactly what happened and her life was forever changed.
I found this a refreshing take on a vampire story in that the main character Kate did not automatically become this blood drinking super vamp. Although the head vampire Sorin was predictable he was also quite likeable as was Rhys her maker. Trying to navigate her new life and powers, looking after her girls, being a friend and a nurse all while searching for a killer who could be someone that is close to her keeps Kate very busy. Worried that the person she thinks may be her attacker sends her down a path that could ultimately not only kill her, her best friend and her maker.
There was a good mix of story, gore and a bit of smut mixed in which made the whole book enjoyable for me and kept me turning the pages.

Bite Shift is absolutely fantastic I can hardly believe this is a first book. The storyline flows effortlessly and pulls you into the world building which was fantastic and believable. The MC Kate is fantastic vibrant and well written. Rhys is anything but what Kate thought so interesting and lonely and brutally honest. I highly recommend the series it was fantastic and I look forward to seeing the series progress!

I’d been looking for a good adult paranormal romance and I guess I got that sorta with a side of murder mystery. Our main character is the fish out of water type character as she knows nothing about the supernatural world before the night she dies. When she wakes up the the edge of death her creator gives her a choice choose being a vampire or die for real leaving her girls behind. Obviously being the mom she is she choose to be a vampire ti not have to say goodbye to her daughters. But all is not easy as there is someone who tried to kill Kate out there as well as learning and adapting to her new life as a vampire and meeting the ever sexy vampire men who are now in het life.

I was pretty bored during the vast majority of this story as I felt like we were in the set up of this story for way too long. I absolutely understand that Kate needed to get acclimated to her new life and new routine such as no longer going out in the sun and convincing everyone around her that she had developed an allergy to the sun but it was so painstakingly slow. The last few chapters were my favorite when we got a very brief steamy scene. Maybe I’d read another book. Do with that what you will.

This is a fun read that gripped me from the first page and kept it that way right until the very end. We join Kate as she navigates through the first week of being a newly-made vampire as well as trying to retain her normal life. This was a good vampire story, not the best I’ve ever read, but entertaining , it hints at a follow up , but I’ll be definitely interested in reading that

Kate is a nurse who was brutally attacked and left for dead. She was then turned vampire to save her life. This is her story. It was amazing. The chemistry and the drama were great. I really love books like this. It was exciting and I had a hard time putting the book down. The suspense was definitely on point. I definitely recommend this book.

Bite Shift is wildly entertaining!

Kate is a nearly 40, divorced nurse and has kids that she amiably co-parents with her remarried ex-husband and his wife. One night while outside of the hospital taking her dinner break she is viciously attacked. A shy coworker comes to her aid but it's too late and her savior must change her into a vampire to save her. She never knew vampires existed but anyway she can stay alive (per se) so she can continue to be there for her children and save them from that grief, she'll take it. Now Kate is thrust into a world she never knew existed and is trying to make the best of a very strange situation.

In order to stay in the area, she must meet the Vampire Lord of the city, and get his blessing. But upon meeting Sorin she finds things are never really that simple. Aside from the pulsing attraction between them, she finds she is wary of the enigmatic man. He tasks her and her vampire maker, Rhys, to discover what exactly it was that attacked her and help to stop the attacks from happening again.

I really dug Lena's take on the vampire world. The Change and the hierarchy are nothing new or revolutionary but they were intriguing and fun to read. My main book love is the paranormal realm but vampires more specifically, so, I was super eager to snatch this one up. I would have liked a little content warning as there is one page remembered rape and attempted rape content. I, personally, just need a bit of a heads up to gird my loins so to speak.

Lena being a bit older (almost 40) and having already been married, divorced, and co-parenting with kids was a great draw for me. There are only so many books you can read about perky, nubile new adults with an inkling of paranormal events. Blah! The relationship between Kate and her ex and his new wife is serious ex-couple goals. I loved how they had a very loving and understanding working relationship even though they weren't together anymore and there was no animosity between them.

I am absolutely in love with the vampire powers angle and Kate's abilities. The author left a lot of loose strings to pull for more in the series and I'm seriously waiting with bated breath. Vampires merging their powers and a -sort of- fated mates topics were brought into question but never addressed and those are some serious catnip treats for me.

The bad guy and his origin story were a real brain explosion. I never saw any of that coming. There is a "who can you trust" theme woven into the story which always adds a bit of excitement for me when I'm reading and, wow, the bad guy was super bad. Evil. I loved it!

I am absolutely on the hook and can't wait for more Kate, Rhys, Sorin, and Alex in my life. Seriously, Lena Nazarei start writing if you haven't already.

This book isn't bad, it just wasn't for me. I would describe it as 'women's fiction - with vampires'. The tone is very light and our protag is one of those women who have found themselves in the middle of their life and wondering what it was all for. It's heavy on sarcasm and self-deprecating jokes.

Nothing wrong with any of that, I just like my vamp books to be darker is all. Mysterious and lustful.

If you're looking for a different kind of vamp book, give this one a try.

Wow - did I love this one. Kate is almost what I would think a grown-up Buffy would be like, except for her being a vampire. While there was a mystery of who turned her and who was killing in the area there is also the mystery of exactly what Kate is. Rhys and Sorin are two of the men that are closest to her in the book. Each have their own unique personalities. Her discovering how to live with her new existence was written pretty realistically, not that I know much about becoming a vampire. Plus, vampire guard badass - Tamela. Never seen my full name used in a book before. Story is steady paced and has long sex scenes, in case you were interested ;)

Thoroughly enjoyed this - pure escapism and I got to the end in one session. Always the sign of a good book when you can’t put it down.

Quick and easy read, this was an enjoyable escape from reality without getting too heavy. While there have been so many vampire books that follow the same patterns, this one had a few deviations that were delightful.

o Yes, I know, a vampire story. But there may be some slight differences as our heroine was:
 Saved from being murdered by being ‘turned’.
 She was a nurse and continued in her professions after turning, on the night shift of course.
 Her first task was to find her would-be murdered.
o And there enough red herrings and plot twists, and then the murderer is completely unexpected! Though I did have a minor suspicion. So, this is really a thriller – murder hunt with a twist as we find out we have a serial killer on the loose.
o I read the ARC and as such there minor proof-reading errors in quite a lot of places which need attention before final publication. But over all this was a nicely paced story, not too heavy or horror ghoulish crime solving. I think this could well be the start of a series.
o 4 but 3 for errors?

Kate, a night-shift nurse, is attacked and changed into a vampire to save her life. Her and her maker are tasked with solving the circumstances of her death - is it a werewolf? vampire? serial killer? This fun and quirky read will keep you interested and rooting along for Kate and crew as she navigates through the first week of being a newly-made vampire and juggling her normal responsibilities - work, kids, and an ex-husband.

The book left off with a hint for a sequel, and you can bet that I'll be picking that one up once released. Can't wait to see what is next-up for Kate, Rhys and Sorin!

I'd been in a bit of a reading slump for a while and was searching for a book to pull me out of it, and this book was the one to do it!
I love vampire fiction and this didn't disappoint, with a great mix of gore, humour and sex! I'd eagerly read more books in this series as I feel there's so much more it can tell. I also think it'd make a great film!

I sincerely hope that this is not the only book in the Eternal Night Shift Series! There is so much more to explore with these characters. Kate Murphy is a nurse and single mom who is attacked one night on her lunch break. In an effort to save her life, she is offered the choice of eternal life, which in this case means becoming a vampire. Talk about a life-altering decision! Now Kate must learn to navigate her new reality, while keeping her job and taking care of her kids. Needless to say, her exploits are definite eye-openers and funny to boot, at least to the reader. Kate, on the other hand, might have a different opinion. This book held my interest and allowed me to become invested in Kate and her plight. I did not want it to end! Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

Hello, Readers today I'm back with another book review this week I will be reviewing Bite Shift By Lena Nazarei where do I even begin.

Ok, let me start with a summary of the story. This tale is about a woman named Katherine who goes by Kate she is a single mother of two teenage girls. She is a nurse working at a Pittsburgh hospital and she's a vampire now this story is about how she became a vampire and the events that transpire afterward. Within this story, we meet Rhys and Sorin as well as a few other characters. Can you imagine sitting outside to eat your lunch then the next thing you know you're immortal? Kate goes through a lot of experiences and trials throughout her early immortal days. Now I suppose that's sufficient wouldn't want to go giving away the entire story now let's get into the pros and cons of the story.
Pros: There are a lot of Pros and many more than what is listed below.  • Interesting story plot and expressive explanations  • Story leaves you yearning for more wanting to learn what transpires next. • Amazing character development.  • Realistic manifestation of how vampires would be in our modern-day and age.
Cons: Truly not many cons I would say primarily two cons that I could pinpoint
• Minor Grammer and spelling Errors.  • Author did not always expand on particular topics in the story (ex .. Kate and Sorin Possibly being mates ?? What are mates in this story ??)

Now looking at what I have read and written I would rate this 4/5 stars  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ it is a good book if you can dismiss lesser flaws.

This book was crazy good!! What a glorious roller coaster ride! I just never knew what was going to happen next. When Kate thought her life was going to be turned upside down just because of one night, she sure got that right.
This story had great main characters which led to some more interesting secondary people as well. Kate drew me in fast when it comes to the team of "I want to see her win"category. Add in that Kate doesn't know what she's doing, who to trust and more dangers than you can count. Rhys, Alex and Soren, and Will are four men that Kate meets on her journey. They will play an important part in the story.
There is a breath-taking conclusion to the story with a "still trying to figure some things out" H.E.A. with a Kate style ending.
Oh and not to be forgotten was the humor and the humor in the writers style. Loved it. I'll be keeping an eye out for more of this author's stuff.
P.S. What a great eBook cover.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
