This is a great book with adorable illustrations to teach kids that making mistakes is okay. I think this book will be really helpful to kids who are perfectionists or don't have faith in themselves.

This board book feels overly long. Bear is scared but there is a difference between being scared and being brave. Being brave is being scared and trying anyway. That is the message of the book and then it gives examples of this to complete the story. I just wasn’t feeling this. Maybe it was the illustrations. Maybe it was the wordiness. Not sure, just not impressed.

I have followed AnneliesDraws for a few years, so I was so excited to read copies of this and her other new book, "It's OK to Need a Friend" from the kind people at NetGalley for an honest review! My two year old daughter and I settled in to read these two together, and we really enjoyed them. The bright colors and soft art style really captured my daughter's attention, and the gentle yet empowering story telling is super sweet and friendly. Highly recommend these beautiful little books!

It’s OK to Make Mistakes tells about what it means to be brave and how one needs to try new things to find good things. It talks about how the only way one fails is to stop trying and how making mistakes is the first step towards getting really good at something. It also tells how perfection is not the goal when learning and how even though you may not when a race, you’re still faster than everyone not running. This is all great life advice for children to learn when they are young. This would be great for teachers to read aloud at the beginning of the school year.
The illustrations are also adorable and engaging for younger children.

I was able to review It's OK to Make Mistakes by AnneliesDraws and Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions for providing me with an advanced ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The illustrations are so vivid and colorful that even littles who are non-readers will enjoy.
It might be “ok to make mistakes” in this story but when the narrative has errors in the printing, THAT is a big problem!  Was it done on purpose? If yes, how do we as the reader know to use this as an example to our kids?

I absolutely loved "It's ok to make mistakes" by AnneliesDraws. I enjoyed sharing it with my 5 year old daughter. She gets frustrated when she can't make something perfect and the enjoyable and subtle approach this book offers is perfect. I think it is especially good for children to learn and the approachable illustrations really afford a simple look for them as they grow and understand things in their world. I will be using this book in my classroom curriculum for my 5th graders as well.

Little Bear learns a very valuable life lesson in this sweet book. He discovers that it's ok to make a mistake! Mistakes should not make us feel bad as they give us opportunities to learn and grow even more. They are to be celebrated! Everyone makes them and it's nice to learn early on that it's just fine if one... two... or a hundred happen!

The inspirational words are truthisms for both the young and the old too. Somehow kids are often taught that making a bad choice, a wrong decision or a failed attempt at something is shameful. This author unlocks the power of self-belief and empowers kids to keep on trying, never get discouraged just go ahead and give it one more go. The book highlights messages about perseverance and resilience. It expresses key truths about self-esteem and emotional intelligence. The author imparts wisdom on the subject and sets us free to happily move on knowing a mistake is not the end of the world but can open up a whole new world for us to explore. I love the positive message and I highly recommend this book.

AnneliesDraws’ It’s OK to Make Mistakes is a cute and simple book with lovely vintage artwork and enduring and inspiring messages.

At first, Little Brown Bear does not want to try new things because he is afraid of making mistakes. However, with self-confidence and some help from his friends, he soon learns that making mistakes is not something to be afraid or ashamed of. Making mistakes should be celebrated because it shows that we are learning and growing.

This is such a simple but inspiring story! The book is perfect for all ages because developing self-confidence as well as learning and growing from your mistakes will always be a part of every stage of life. I love the sweet and timeless messages about trying your best and stepping out of your comfort zone.

I really like that the book never made me feel like I was being preached to. I also appreciate that the writing isn’t saccharine or trite. The writing is definitely child-friendly and perfect for very young readers. The short and easy-to-read sentences as well as the use of everyday situations like colouring and baking cookies are very approachable. The book gently encourages you to believe in yourself and try out new things while accepting that making mistakes is normal.

I adore the lovely full-colour and full-page vintage illustrations! The cute little animals have such friendly and happy faces. The soft colours and fun backgrounds will definitely appeal to young readers.

It’s OK to Make Mistakes is a lovely and approachable picture book for young readers. The messages are perfect for all ages. I am excited to check out more of AnneliesDraws’ work!

My children enjoyed this book. I read it to my 4 year old and my 3 year old. It was the right size with great art work to keep their attention. It was nice to start teaching them that perfection is not realistic. It’s ok to make mistakes, and you even learn from your experiences!

An adorable book about making mistakes and trying new things for young kids. I loved the emphasis on trying new things (activities, experiences, food, etc.) though they may be scary at first and we may not be good at them right away. I loved the woodland critter illustrations.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

As the description has it, mistakes give us the power to learn and grow, and as long as we're doing that we're on a winning path. All it takes is a cautious sense of adventure and a willingness to try even if you may fail. I commend this as a worthy read.

Little brown bear learns that it's OK to make mistakes because that's a part of learning. He also learns that he is brave when he/she tries something new, and learns to feel good about himself no matter that he/she is not perfect. Excellent book with nice, simple illustrations!

I have always drummed it in to my daughter that it doesn't matter how good or bad she is at anything, it's the trying that matters - and this book is the perfect book for her to realise this!
