How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is very chaotic and the MC has serious manic-pixie dream girl vibes. It took me a while to get into this book but it is very fun and light

KM Jackson had me hooked from the first line. I enjoyed the journey of falling in love with your best friend as you try to stop a celebrity wedding. This book was fun and full of celebrity sightings. I enjoyed the dual POV and needed the laugh that I got with this one!

How gorgeous is this cover ?! The art is so vibrant and beautiful and perfectly correlates with the artist that is Lu in this story.⁣

This was a slow burn, friends to lovers, and I enjoyed the adventures that True and Lu took on her search to find Keanu Reeves. I love all the pop culture and references to celebrities on their journey and the descriptions of each adventure that were painted perfectly. ⁣

However, Lu was in her early 40s and acted and made decisions like she was a teenager at times and it really irked me. True was always open and honest with her and she almost turned everything into a joke to avoid a serious conversation, and while that’s cute sometimes, it isn’t cute forever. ⁣

Overall though, I adored True, Dawn, Lu’s BFF and agent was wonderful and I loved when she gave Lu a slap of reality. I also adored her pup Morphie!⁣

3.5/4⭐️ Thank you @readforeverpub for an ARC for my honest review ! #netgalley #bookstagram #books #romance

My feelings for How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is all over the place. First of all, it was so easy to get caught in the plot momentum once it got started. It takes a while at the beginning to begin this pursuit you would expect from the title. But that's because Jackson spends this time introducing us not only to Lu and Tru, but to their chemistry and friendship. Second of all, I loved this combination of tropes - childhood crushes and friends to lovers - talk about some of my favorite smushed into one!

Thirdly, I love how Jackson delves into Lu's obsession. Too often I think we have this idea of a 'fangirl' and it being absurd (or at least the discussions I see on the internet), when that's really just a way for sexism to mock women's obsessions. I loved how Lu's journey explores her obsession with Keanu Reeves as well as for her own reflections on it. Fourthly (is this too many things on this list??), Tru was this little spark of precious cinnamon roll.

It's hard to get on board with a romance when you don't buy the two leads as a couple.

I have enjoyed both the mutual pining and friends-to-lovers tropes in many books, but they did not click for me in this particular book. Jackson establishes from the beginning that both Lu and True have feelings for each other, but spends so little time actually showing us how those feelings manifest and grow. Despite having dual perspectives, we don't actually get to spend that much time in either character's head because so much of this book is plot-driven. There is no slow burn building up to the actual initiation of a relationship and when it finally happens about 70% into the book, Jackson practically flies through it in order to move to the next plot point. Considering how much potential for drama there was with this particular relationship, it frankly left me feeling totally cold.

With such a madcap premise, How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days had the potential to be a massive hit. Unfortunately, I found that it never really reached the heights of what it could be.

Bethany Lu Carlisle has spent most of her 40 plus years of life running from commitment because if you don't commit to someone, they can never leave you. Which is what Lu realized after losing her brother in a car accident when he was a teenager. Thankfully, Truman Erikson, her brother's best friend has always been around. They both seem to lean on each other without any romantic commitment. When Lu finds out that her number one crush, Keanu Reeves is getting married in 90 days, she is determined to finally talk to him and stop the wedding because he should marry her instead! When True decides to help Lu out with her Keanu90 plan, they travel across the US from New York to California. Along the way Lu and True have some funny, laugh out loud moments. The more time these two spend together, the more obvious their feelings for each other are. All they need to do is take the chance. When they finally give in to their feelings, life just seems right. Now Lu and True have to both decide if forever is in their stars so they can finally get their happy ending.

I really enjoyed this road trip romantic comedy. This was a great story of two people who really belonged together, acted like they were together, but thought they were only friends, when in reality they were in love. I enjoyed their fun banter back and forth. Overall this was a fun, entertaining story with such great characters.

This book won me over the moment Jason Momoa showed up with Lisa Bonet. The blurb said this would be a quirky read, and quirky it was! I loved all the random celebrity sightings. Every single one had me laughing!

My biggest problem with the book was the number of times Lu changed her mind about being with True. I get that romcoms must follow a typical formula, and there must be angst…but there was just a little too much. I would’ve rather this been 30 pages shorter and the MCs gotten their HEA sooner.

An interesting take on celebrity culture and being obsessed with a celebrity. Definitely for anyone who followed a band around in their life or cry when engagements get announced.

The news that Keanu Reeves is getting married has Lu questioning her life, her goals and her future. If Keanu gets married and then retires, what will Lu have to look forward to in the future?
True has been in love with Lu forever it seems. He will do whatever it takes to make her dreams come true.

This started slow for me. It really is best if you know a bit about Keanu and his various movies. If you are not a Keanu fan, you may roll your eyes at the continuous references. It was a little much for me, but not enough to make me hate it. This is a very conversation driven story, so if you don't like tons of dialogue, then again, this may not be the book for you.

Once Lu and True went on the first trip to try to find Keanu, it moved better and became a quest worth investing my time in. The celebrity run ins were a lot of fun. I had a bit of a hard time with Lu and her attitude sometimes. It made it hard to root for her as a heroine sometimes. True was by far the best part of this book. He is the kind of worshiping, pining hero that I love to read.

All of that said, I did enjoy this, and had a fun time with the novel.

You gotta love Keanu!

I'm also a huge Keanu fan, really, who isn't?? So I felt all the feels with this book! The amount of times I've watched john Wick and Destination Wedding is preposterous! This book was fun, and seeing how big of a fan Beth is of Keanu Reeves was hilarious.

Unfortunately, this just isn't my time of romance, being a slow burn and I just couldn't connect with the characters, but I'm sure others will love this one and fall in love with Beth's bubbly personality!

I could not get into the prose of How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days by K.M. Jackson, but what was read was adorable!

I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I will say the book cover and title really captured my attention first. I was eager to read this book. I think the author had a great idea for a Romantic Comedy style book but it didn’t translate well in writing. I could totally see this book being adapted as a film or short series and I think that would make better sense to me. I wanted to love this book but it really didn’t live up to my expectations. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Lu; it took almost 80% of the book before she realized that True was her soulmate. I did like the aspect of her being an artist and living life to the best of her own drums. I like True a lot, he had to have been really patient to deal with Lu and to go through so many hurdles to show how much he loved Lu. Overall, this is a book that was witty and lighthearted. It ends with a HEA and I can respect that.

A fun and fiesty read that immediately grabbed my attention. A fantastic rom com that's perfect for fans of Helena Hunting. This book delivers on banter and the dialogue is brilliant. The trope is original and innovative, not your typical romance. Pick up this book today.

I had a really hard time getting into this book. I've really enjoyed some of Jackson's other work and I am excited about the premise, so I'm going to assume this is a situation of good book wrong time of life. I can see that others will really love it, and hope I will too when I pick it up again in the future.

I love a good ‘friends to lovers’ story, and “How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days” did not disappoint. This story was quite an adventure…to say the least. Before I started reading this book, I didn’t know what to expect with a book about a 40-something year old woman chasing a superstar, but I was WRONG! This book was about way more. How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days showed that it’s ok to be in your 40’s and still figuring life out…figuring out who you are, what you really want out of life, and finding love when/where you least expect it.

Throughout the entire book, I was rooting for Lu and True, but I was especially rooting for them in the car after the “In the toilet with the Captain” incident. At that point in the story, I was hoping that finally… they’d come to their senses…little did I know…

I loved how True went along with all of Bethany Lu’s antics, no matter how outrageous they were…he was right there…every time. Lu was HILARIOUS to me. I laughed and laughed throughout the book. Lu’s habit of speaking her thoughts out loud is so me…I could definitely relate.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this story. I’m so glad Lu and True got their happily ever after…FINALLY.

This was my first book by K.M. Jackson and it was very fun. The book tells the story of Bethany Lu who LOVES Keanu Reeves, so when she finds out he’s getting married in 90 she is determined to stop him. With the help of her best friend Truman “True” she sets off on a journey across the country to track down Keanu. Of course while on their journey the two find that they may want to be more than friends.

The book was fast paced and had some funny moments. I really liked both Bethany Lu and True. I appreciated that the book was dual POV because I got to know the thoughts and feelings of both characters so well. I especially loved how clearly devoted True was to Bethany Lu from the very beginning and I loved her journey in seeing True as something more.

I did struggle with following some of the side stories and found some sections of the book a bit disjointed. I also struggle when real people (in this case celebrities) are characters in a book. In addition to Keanu being a central part of the story, the pair also cross paths with Chris Evans, Lisa Bonet, and Jason Mamoa, and while I get why they were there it just feels weird to me to put words into real people’s mouths.

Overall I enjoyed the book, but it’s not my new favorite. Thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days by K M Jackson
Contemporary romance. Romantic comedy. Friends to lovers troupe. Alternating chapters POV.

It was a lot of conversation between Lu and Dawn. It really is best if you know a bit about Keanu and his various movies. Once Lu and True went on the first trip to try to find Keanu, it moved better and became a quest worth following. The various situations and other celebrities were amusing. I won’t go into spoilers but often had an issue with Lu and her attitude. There was a reason so will just assure that it is a romance so hea guaranteed.
I admired True and his steadfast loyalty no matter what was thrown his way. He goes above and beyond repeatedly.

“I started to head over toward the pack of Keanus while contemplating a name for them. Herd? Pride? Gaggle? Kaggle?”

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Okay true story, I also love Keanu Reeves. From Bill & Ted to Point Break, he always is my love. Then John Wick came and I definitely became a fan. It’s true. So when I saw @forever have a book about Keanu, I couldn’t say no. It would be.. a total colossal mistake. I’m so glad I read this and it was excellent.

I loved Lu & True. The best. Lu gives the best banter and she’s kind of avoiding adulthood by road-tripping to get KR. I mean, same? True is literally dream worthy and they way he cares for Lu and is there for her is just *swoon* I don’t know if you would consider close proximity since were road-tripping, but I’m totally considering it. Friends to lovers all the good banter, all the feels.

Overall, the title hooked me, and the story kept me here for the fun ride. This is a BOTM choice, and it’s definitely one to pick. Thanks Forever for the gifted copy. How to marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is out now!!

This was a cute and fun romance! Bethany Lu is a cool artist living in New York and is in love with Keanu Reeves. She is absolutely devastated when she learn Keanu is getting married in 90 days and is determined to stop him and convince him that she is the perfect woman for him. But of course, not everything goes to plan. I enjoyed that it is told from dual perspectives of Bethany and True (her long time BFF). With their longtime friendship, we get witty banter and chemistry but we also get the frustration of why haven't they taken their friendship to the next level. As Bethany drags True along with her to try and stop Keanu from getting married, we see several other celebrity cameos and their appearances bring a lot of hilarious moments throughout the book. Along the way, we discover some unhealed grief and this trip becomes more than it was intended for the characters. Jackson did well interweaving the reality of grief and healing within a romantic comedy. How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is funny and a true friends to lovers romance.

An actual romcom! This one is of the charming and some angstry romance-variety. Bethany Lu is a Keanu Reeves fan girl and rumors he's getting married, have her seeking to stop it. OK yes, that's bonkers, but it's fun. True is one of her two best friends and he commits to helping her on her quest. From coast to coast, there are hijinks and crazy situational comedy, with a cast of stars showing up. Not in a creepy way for those avoiding real people fiction (RPF), but in a "wait did that just happen??!?!" manner. And it's just pure fun. Sibling's best friend, long time pining, friends to lovers, these are the tropes at work here. Lu and True are both dealing with some past shared trauma of the death of Lu's brother, which was so long ago that that relatively short scene where they talk about it, felt realistic. Not that the pain of his death has gone but that as adults more than a decade after his death, they can choose to move forward together. Chemistry and angst and shared history drive these two together. A quick read that I couldn't put down and I enjoyed every bit of it.

CW for death of a sibling, one male side character full of toxic masculinity, racist microaggressions on page
