How To Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days. Okay, when I first heard the title then read the synopsis I had no idea where this book was going to take me but I was ready!

After hearing her beloved Keanu is getting married, 40 year old Bethany Lu is distraught and in a fit. So, naturally, True has to stop this wedding. He is her true love, after all. Her childhood best friend, Truman (True), is there to help Lu and they decide to find Keanu and stop the wedding. It’s impossible to not root for True after seeing their friendship and how True has had a crush on Lu for a while. From New York to Los Angeles, Lu and True had all the adventures and some crazy situations.

Told in first person with dual points of view, the reader is able to have better insight on where True and Lu’s emotions were. The banter and chemistry between Lu and True was humorous but at times it was frustrating, but real. While the adventures and cameos are hilarious, this story is much deeper and the journey becomes one of grief and healing. One of the many things I loved about True and Lu is True never judges Lu for how she is coping and never invalidates her feelings. Jackson combines this truly hilarious story with difficult and heavy emotions all while somehow maintaining a romantic comedy.

How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is a ridiculous, adventurous, hilarious, best friends-to-lovers, romantic comedy about friendship, grieving, healing and hope.

Thank you to Forever for an advanced copy in exchanged for my honest review. How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is available on November 2, 2021.

Bethany Lu Carlisle is obsessed with Keanu Reeves. He is her Hollywood boyfriend (we've all got one). When she reads an article about his impending nuptials in 90 days she goes into a tailspin. When she's given a job offer that she's not sure about she uses the 90 days until Keanu's wedding as a benchmark to make her decision. Her best friend, True, knows all about Bethany's Keanu obsession. As a way to help cheer her up, he makes it his mission to get Bethany and Keanu together before the 90 days are up. Lots of shenanigans occur on their cross-country adventure that makes True and Bethany question their own relationship.

I loved the idea of this book. Some of the execution didn't work for me. I loved all the Keanu references and each chapter in the book was its own Keanu nod alone. My biggest problem was Bethany. I loved that she was a protagonist in her 40s, but my problem with her is that she read like she was in her 20s. It kept grating on me throughout the novel. There are also some other Hollywood stars that make their appearance in this book. They're gone as quickly as they appear and it makes little sense why they were there.

Although How to Meet Keanu Reeves in 90 Day wasn't my favorite, it'd still try another book of hers in the future.

I didn't enjoy this too much because it is not a genre I prefer to read but so many patrons at my library read this genre. I believe they will love this book so I will recommend and promote it. I do love the title of the book.

First, thank you to Forever and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy I received of this book.

I just finished How to Marry Keanu Reeves by K. M. Jackson. I was struggling between whether to give this book 3.5 or 4 stars but in the end I decided on 4/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

This book is about a black woman named Bethany Lu Carlisle who sees a tweet that Keanu Reeves is getting married in 90 days and this devastated her. She literally created a 5 step plan to find Keanu, talk him out of his impending marriage, and tell him he should marry her. So, Lu and her best friend of 20 years, True, went on a road trip and different adventures where they tried to catch Keanu before he disappeared.

When I first read the description, I figured Lu was in her 20s because that’s just an extremely immature reaction to a stranger getting married, even if that stranger is the beautiful, talented, and philanthropic Mr. Reeves. I was flabbergasted to find out she was in her 40s and it really cast her in a negative light for me. She was so obsessed that she was focused on her phone waiting for new tweets while she was in an extremely important business meeting. She was just extremely immature and emotionally stunted due to a past trauma she never dealt with.

The saving grace of this book for me was Truman Erickson. True was funny, sweet, honest, unafraid of his emotions, and emotionally mature. I anticipated chapters from his POV and scenes containing his character. He was also a very selfless and brave person. He was written as THE perfect book boyfriend.

My only complaints about this book, aside from my initial dislike of Lu, was that I personally believed there weren’t enough chapters from the POV of True. Instead of the chapters alternating like most books do, there could be 5 chapters of Lu and then 1 chapter of True and then back to Lu. My second complaint is that the author used the incorrect phrase “I could care less” when “I couldn’t care less” should have been used (that’s a common mistake that always grinds my nerves).

This book will be published on November 2, 2021 and I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who loves romantic comedies! I’ve already pre-ordered my copy and I’m excited to read the final draft.

Simply adorable! I really enjoyed this. If you know anything about me, you know I love a good rom-com! Now add in a friend to lovers trope and I'm a goner. How To Marry Keanu Reeves is a hilariously fun read. So many moments and situations that had me laughing out loud. It should be made into a Netflix film ASAP! Sweet yet sexy reading is the best kind.

I loved everything about it.

If you've ever been starstruck about a celebrity, you will know exactly what Lu Carlisle feels when she hears that her one and only movie star love, Keanu' Reeves, is getting hitched. What follows is a madcap Hollywood adventure in which Lu tries to stop the END OF DAYS with the help of her childhood friend True.

True ... true to his word and his love ... follows Lu to the ends of the earth to fulfill her dream.

How far would you go to stop the wedding of your celebrity crush?? This fun rom-com follows Bethany Lu and True as they follow Keanu Reeves around the country in order to try and stop his wedding that is happening in 90 days. Bethany Lu hopes to convince Keanu to marry her instead but maybe the love she is looking for has been right in front of her the whole time…

What I liked:
💗Adventurous - The main characters go on a few different adventures throughout the book. They learn to let go and actually enjoy themselves eventually.

💗Movie and celebrity references - I have not seen many Keanu Reeves movies so I didn’t always know the references made, but there were other movies and celebrities mentioned that made it fun.

💗Discussion of grief - The main characters lost someone close to them and they are able to heal/have open discussions about their grief by the end of the book.

What I didn’t like:
✨Pacing - The pacing felt a little off. The dialogue dragged some and then the storyline would move quickly at times.

✨Unrealistic - Throughout the book, there are a few celebrity meetings (besides Keanu) that feel unrealistic and I found myself rolling my eyes. The characters got invited to the Tribeca Film Festival which also felt like a stretch.

Overall, this was a fun and quick read. I recommend it if you are a Keanu Reeves fan and are looking for something fairly light.

*Thank you to Forever, Grand Central Publishing, and NetGalley for this eARC. This book comes out on November 2nd!

This book was alright. I think I had higher expectations than this book could meet. It was cute though. However, it was not my cup of tea and I will not be revisiting it.

I’m sorry to say that I did not enjoy this book at all. Even though I related to the storyline, I too was an obsessed fan girl who thought her idol marrying was the end of the world and could run off to chase them and convince them otherwise, the story felt really flat and unamusing. It doesn’t feel fresh, nothing in this book was unexpected and you could guess the ending by the third chapter. It felt like something I could write at age twelve.

What an amazing ride!!! “How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days” by K.M. Jackson features Bethany “Lu” Carlisle and her best friend Truman “True” Erikson. Lu and True have been connected for more than two decades by loss, love, guilt and need. True and Lu’s brother, Cole, were best friends and when Cole died in a car accident, Lu and her family attached to True as almost a replacement. For all these years, True has grappled with his feelings of guilt for not being there for Cole on that fatal night and with his unexpressed love for Lu. I loved that we were able to hear from True in his own words. In the meantime, Lu has lived a stagnant, repressed existence, holding tightly on to her two friends (True and Dawn) and her girlish crush on Keanu Reeves. When she reads, that Keanu is getting married in 90 days, the world she has carefully crafted to keep her equilibrium is rocked on its axis. Enlisting the ever faithful and loving True, Lu sets out on a quest to stop Keanu from marrying. Along the way will she come to see that TRUE love has been within her grasp all along? The quest takes the pair in many different directions, and we get to hobnob with a gaggle of celebrities, including the awesome Mr. Reeves. I can only say thank you to Ms. Jackson for allowing us along for this enlightening, healing and enriching ride.
I voluntarily read a copy of this book from Netgalley and this review is of my honest opinion.

This book just was not for me and I was not able to complete it. I think the plot and the characters were both so unbelievable that I just could not get invested in the story.

I’m a big Keanu fan, although not quite as obsessed as Bethany Lu (“Lu”) who decides to chase down Keanu Reeves after finding out he is getting married in 90 days. This leads Lu and her best friend, Truman, on a wild road trip to meet Keanu. Lu may find what she’s looking for, but in an unexpected place. The book was fun and quirky, but I felt like it could have been a shorter read and not so wordy. Fun book, but minimal depth. Overall, enjoyed it for being just a fun, quick read which is what I was expecting!

I’ll admit, I loved the characters of True and Lu, but this got so wordy.
I really enjoyed Jackson’s last Real Men Knit- it was heartwarming and sweet. This was a bit cheesy and off. Just trying to hard to break the mold of men.

How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 days. Where to start? Being a fan of Keanu Reeves myself, I was thrilled when I discovered this book was being written. This story focuses on a character who considers herself the number 1 fan of Keanu Reeves. So much so, the announcement of him getting married is enough to send her somewhat over the edge. With her long suffering best friend, she embarks on a madcap journey to hunt down the groom to be and talk him out of his impending nuptials. Instead, she finds more than she bargained for in her own life. I can only say that I'm happy I read this book at home and not in public, because I would surely be locked up somewhere for observation. Parts of this book snuck up on you and had you laughing and smiling to yourself at any given moment. It also managed to pull you deeper and deeper into the relationship between these two best friends and exposed heart felt emotions. It was the perfect blend between the two.

I was eager to read this book, and wanted to love it, but it did not quite click with me. The premise was intriguing, but the writing was very choppy and hard to get into, as it lacked a flow. Full review on my blog.

Artist, Bethany Lu Carlisle, is also being courted by a big corporation to become develop a product line featuring her artwork and she just found out that her celebrity crush, Keanu Reeves is getting married in 90 days. She develops a plan to meet Keanu and convince him that she is actually the person she should be marrying. Her best friend Dawn doesn’t think it is a good idea, but her neighbor, and deceased brother’s best friend Truman (True), not only doesn’t discourage her, but works with his friend to try to help Bethany Lu meet the elusive actor. This journey leads from a simple cross-town trek to Coney Island to a cross-country trip to New Mexico and Las Vegas, with Bethany Lu and True meeting several different celebrities along the way. However, what they find at the end of the journey is something Dawn has known for years, Bethany and True actually belong together.

This was an interesting concept on the usual romance novel. The addition of celebrities was new and quite exciting. Overall, it was a good book, but sometimes it felt a bit off. Thank you to Forever Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC.

This book is just FUN! If you're down to read a book about a girl chasing down Keanu Reeves and falling in love with her best friend on the journey there, this one's for you. It's pure ridiculousness at every turn, we're talking friends to lovers, one bed, miscommunications galore, and the CELEBRITY SIGHTINGS, dear god so many celebrities. I loved how Lu found herself as the book progressed and enjoyed True's chapters as well. Will there be a Dawn book next? Who knows! But if you want a book that will make you laugh, steam up the mirrors a little bit, and leave you elated, pick this one up in November.

This is my first read by KM Jackson, although Real Men Knit has been on my list for forever. I was initially attracted to the cover and the description. I’m not a Keanu super fan but that doesn’t stop you from enjoying this adventure filled romance.

Bethany Lu Carlisle is devastated when the tabloids report actor Keanu Reeves is about to tie the knot in 90 days. In her obsession, she sets a goal to meet and marry Keanu before his wedding in 90 days. On the road for this mission, is her BFF True Erickson. Only True is is a hottie professor with the eyes for Lu, so how and why does he tag along for the ride?

There’s nothing better than friends you cannot hide from, who push you when you need it and catch you when you fall. Lu has all of the above in True. I loved the dual point of views. Flipping between the two made the banter between them more entertaining. I loved being able to see how each reacted to the same experience.

Other things I loved….the celeb cameos (which I won’t spoil) and steamy scenes! Things I’d be aware of there could be slight triggers surrounding death and grief but the author does a great job of keeping the story focused on healing, hope and the growth that comes after.
