I’m so sorry to say that I DNF’d this book. It was just not for me. I thought the the main girl (who is in her forties btw) acted super immature and I didn’t like the constant inner monologue of how amazing Keanu Reeves is and the fact that he took up 99% of her head space. I was bored out of my mind and made it a quarter of the way into the book before I finally said enough was enough.

I’m sure if you’re a huge Keanu Reeves fan this would be a good one for you, otherwise, I didn’t like it at all and, as I said before, didn’t finish it.

I wanted to love this one, but I couldn't get into it. I wasn't sure if it was that the idea was a little too "silly" for me - or if it was because I was struggling to read on an IPAD. It's not over and I may give it another try because i do love Kwana's other books, but for now, it wasn't the best for me.

Anyone else blast driver's license by Olivia Rodrigo while reading this and change the lyrics to match the book, or was that just me?

This is a hilarious Friends to lovers rom-com that has dual POVs. Such a light and cute read. I honestly have now read it twice. Once on my kindle and I purchased a physical copy as well. When I first saw the cover of this novel, I died. I knew at that moment this needed to be on my TBR. When I got the approval to read an advance copy, I was stoked. I read it in one sitting on a Saturday afternoon. It was so funny, so cute, one of my favorite tropes in romance novels, and honestly, the Keanu Reeves jokes are EVERYTHING. It's been a while since I have read a road trip style book with multiple points of view, and this got me hooked on that style again. I missed how much fun it is to read.

Thank you, Netgalley and Forever, for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review. I also have physically purchased a copy with my own money.

This was a very fun book. While I've never actually seen a Keanu movie I very much enjoyed all of the references to him and the overall vibe of the book. This is a really well-done friends to lovers book, with just the right pacing for the realization of the relationship. I enjoyed both Bethany and Truman and how they were able to take everything they'd been through together over the years and turn it into a relationship.

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) @ReadForeverPub for an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was such an enjoyable read. I’m not quite sure what I expected, I just saw Keanu and I thought it would be fun.

At first, Bethany’s reaction to the news that Keanu was getting married is outrageous. But it made the whole premise quirky and fun, because who wouldn’t want the chance to be spontaneous and chase after a childhood celebrity crush? The celeb cameos were also a nice treat, and it made me excited to keep reading and find out who they would run into next.

I liked that the main character is a successful 40-something Black woman, not something often seen in these books. It’s not overly explicit, but there are some steamy references in general. It took some time to get a good read on the characters, mainly the three best friends – Bethany, Tru, and Dawn – and the dynamic between them. At the core of the story, it’s really about friendship and love, figuring yourself out, taking chances, and being proud of who you are.

All the chapters are actual titles or references to Keanu movies. It’s a crazy concept and a fun book (especially when they go on the roadtrip), and it reads like it would be even more fun as a movie! I read this shortly after watching “Always Be My Maybe” …so for some reason I couldn’t think of Daniel Lim as anyone else but Daniel Dae Kim LOL

If you’re a Keanu fan, and need something to hold you over until Matrix 4, John Wick 4, or BRZRKR Vol.2 comes out… then you definitely need to read this book.

And remember: Be excellent to each other and PARTY ON, dudes!

Everything I ever wanted and thought it could be! This book had me laughing and feeling sentimental and was very oddly relatable? I LOVED IT.

From the very beginning this book was super cute. That rom-com vibe in a book was just what I was looking for so I was excited to jump into it. The idea of marrying Keanu is a perfect hook and at first the characters all seemed to be likable. The road trip Lu and True find themselves on takes them to all kind of cute destinations that were fun to read about. However, throughout the entire book Bethany Lu has this attitude towards her friend True that comes across as kind of mean. He's always really kind and caring towards her and apparently she cares about him too, because she thinks it to herself, but the way she speaks to him and treats him just kind of put me off.

This book read like your typical romance novel with cheesy and at times cringy dialogue. Really cute if you enjoy reading romance, but I was expecting a little more of the comedy to come around and was left disappointed. It alternated POVs between Lu and True, which reminded me of those Wattpad books that seemed to just kind of ramble out thoughts in the character's head to take up space.

It was an easy enjoyable read overall and I recommend for romance lovers who enjoy road trips.

Thank you Forever and Grand Central Publishing for sending me an e-ARC of this book for review.

Thank you so much for allowing me to read and review an arc of How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to love this book and I was in such a romcom mood when I picked this up! Sadly, this book wasn’t exactly what I was anticipating. I loved the take on the friends to lovers romance because you go into the book already sensing the chemistry and attraction they have for one another. I ended up not really enjoying the love for Keanu as much as I thought I would. She was a huge fan girl of Keanu Reeves to where it was an unhealthy and stalkerish obsession. I will say if you fan girl hard over a certain celebrity you may enjoy this one! The romance also gave me a little bit of whip flash. There was a certain scene where I thought for sure they would start dating but then the next scene was almost as if it never happened and wasn’t addressed until much later. This wasn’t for me but I could see other readers enjoying this if you love Keanu references and trivia facts.

Who hasn’t had that one star that they fangirled over and dreamed about meeting (or marrying)? With How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days, K.M. Jackson pens a sweet, humorous, sexy, and emotional tale about friendship, love, loss, fear, and finding inspiration as two best friends, Lu and True, take a road trip together on a quest to find Lu’s soulmate, actor Keanu Reeves, and keep him from getting married. Jackson’s character development, vivid description, dialogue, creativity, and narrative style bring her charming novel to life, drawing you into the book straight away, keeping you invested in the characters and story, and turning the pages excited for her next surprise. It’s clear early on in the book, written in first-person POV from Bethany’s and True’s perspectives, that there might be a long-term crush/pining, oblivious, friends-to-lovers scenario between Bethany and her best friend True. The question is whether they will ever get out of their own heads and way to escape the friend’s zone to become so much more. Some cool and crazy happenstances occur on Lu’s and True’s road trip, along with some unexpected encounters. Could destiny be trying to give them a push in the right direction to open their eyes to what they’re missing out on in each other?

Jackson’s deftly developed African American characters are relatable, likable, and multifaceted but very human. Artist Bethany Lu Carlisle is a total fangirl laser-focused on Keanu. Artistic, quirky, privileged, competitive, and lovable, she’s a bit of a hot mess, but she’s authentic and owns her messiness – or at least tries. Truman Erickson, AKA True, is an economics professor and mathematics genius. Handsome, intelligent, loyal, thoughtful, he has the patience of a saint and will do anything for his best friend Lu – even sacrifice his own happiness/future for hers. I love the friendship and relationships between Lu, True, and Dawn, Bethany’s manager and 30-year fangirling partner in crime, who rounds out this friendship trio. Their interactions, teasing, and conversations feel so comfortable and natural. They sound like ones I’ve had with my friends about fannish things. The chemistry between True and Bethany sizzles, like their sexy and humorous teasing and banter.

A sweet, hilarious, entertaining rom-com, In How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days takes readers on a wild and emotional ride that explores the connections between friends and how they help shape who we are, making us stronger.

What would you do if it was announced that your celebrity crush was getting married? You would go on an adventure to find him and convince him to marry you instead of course! Bethany Lu has had a crush on Keanu Reeves almost her whole life. So when it’s announced that he’s getting married in 90 days, she decides to go on a quest to find him and convince him to call off the wedding, and even marry her instead. And she can’t do this without the help of her bestfriend True, who may or may not be in love with her.
This was a fast, fun, and lighthearted read that’s sure to keep you smiling the whole time. I flew through it. The quest for Keanu was so much fun! They went to so many fun places and saw so many other celebrities. My favorite part of the whole book was the celebrity cameos! Every time a new one happened I got so happy it felt like I had just met the celebrity myself! I also loved that the chapter names were odes to Keanu movies!
I did have a few problems with this novel though. For one, I didn’t enjoy the first 30% of the book, although I really enjoyed the rest. It felt like it was info dumping and the main character’s inner monologue was exhausting. It was very hard for me to believe that Bethany Lu was in her mid-forties acting like that. Not just the intense celebrity crush, but her constantly sticking her tongue out at people and making very juvenile decisions and assumptions. If it wasn’t for the graphic sexual descriptions this could’ve passed for a YA novel. The love interest, True, also felt pretty juvenile. However, I really enjoyed True’s point of view. I wish he had more chapters. I also felt that the synopsis was a little bit misleading. There’s no actual road trip in this book. The characters mainly fly where they need to go. There’s an adventure for sure, but not a road trip.
My main problem with the book was that I felt like True liked Bethany way more than she liked him. I felt like he was in love, but she was in lust. Also, the ending of this book was really cute, but there were at least two loose ends that were never addressed and that really bothered me. I was left with questions.
This was one of my most anticipated releases for this year, and I enjoyed it, but sadly I didn’t love it. This book made me very happy though. It was incredibly fun and it definitely made me want to have my own Keanu Reeves movie binge! It’s a 3.5 star read for me.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this arc. All opinions are my own.

I’ve never read a book by K.M Jackson before, but after reading this book I understand why people love this author. The conversational almost stream of consciousness writing took a minute for me to get used to, but once I did I went along for the ride. It was so refreshing to read a book where the main characters were well into their 40’s and didn’t necessarily have some kind of biological clock ticking. The journey of Lu was compelling from start to finish and to watch the friendship between her and True blossom was a joy. I’ll definitely read more from K.M. In the future.

The title of this book had me so excited but unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I had a really hard time connecting with Lu - she seemed spoiled and mean for no reason. I couldn't figure out what True saw in her or why he and her friend were indulging her quest to stop Keanu from getting married. I was glad to see her mature over the course of the book but the ending felt abrupt and left me a bit confused. I know other people have loved this book so maybe it was just me.

Thanks to Forever and NetGalley for the copy to review.

HOW TO MARRY KEANU REEVES IN 90 DAYS is a fast-paced Rom-Com that is based on the heroine’s obsession with the real-life actor, Keanu Reeves. There’s more to the story, of course, and the author does a good job of providing substance to the storyline. It’s a great “Friends-to-Lovers” story that cleverly utilizes the alternating POV format that gives incite into the main characters, Bethany Lu Carlisle and her ride-or-Die BFF, Truman “True” Erickson.
If you are in the mood for an amusing friends-to-lovers story with some serious undertones, I recommend HOW TO MARRY KEANU REEVES IN 90 DAYS for your reading pleasure.

Lu has just found out that Keanu Reeves might be getting married. Lu is somewhat obsessed with Keanu. She decides to find Keanu within the next 90 days and convince him not to get married (unless it’s to her!) and not to retire. His movies have brought her, and everyone else, so much joy. Lu’s life has been hard at times, so that’s not an easy feat.

Lu’s best friend True says he’ll go with her on her quest to find Keanu. True is actually in love with Lu and has been for years. The two have a flirty friendship but in all the years they’ve known each other it has stayed at friendship. To me, I think True’s feelings were probably very obvious for a long time and that Lu was choosing to ignore them.

When they go on their trip together, they keep having near misses with Keanu and getting closer to each other. They aren’t sure what it will mean when they get home again.

I’d say I was 25% of the way into the book before I started to understand Lu better. I love Keanu too but Lu’s fandom was a bit delusional. I can’t tell whether she really thought she might marry Keanu (I don’t think so, but I’m not sure). Lu also read a bit younger than her age, sometimes just because I’d the way she worded things. But I feel like both her best friend Dawn And True both called her out for being a bit immature, which I appreciated.

Cute story and who doesn’t love Keanu? :)

I got to read an early ebook edition from NetGalley. Thanks!

This was incredibly cute! The characters came to life, and you could see, not only the friendship between them, but also the love they had for one another. The way True supported his sometime very crazy and over the top friend was incredibly heartwarming!

How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is definitely a catchy, entertaining read. A woman in her 40s is obsessed with everything Keanu Reeves. This was a good friends to lovers read told in first person narrative. The cover is definitely eye-catching.
Thank you #Netgalley for this ARC.

As soon as I saw this cover coupled with the title I knew I had to read this book! How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is my first K.M. Jackson book; it is a rom-com story featuring the friends to lovers romance trope. Bethany Lu, a 40-something artist and a Keanu Reeves super fan. When she learns that Keanu is set to get married in 90 days, she and her best friend True decide to go on a road trip in order to meet Keanu, convince him to call off his wedding and marry Lu instead. Of course there are a few roadblocks in her path: 1) Keanu has no clue who she is and 2) True is secretly in love with Lu. The story is told through the dual POV of Lu and True.

As a bit of a pop culture junkie, I was here for all of the movie references. Along Lu and True's journey you may think that Keanu would be the only celebrity they run into, but you would be wrong....there are some additional famous actor cameos also. My favorite stop along the road trip was their time spent in Truth and Consequences, New Mexico. I think my favorite character was Dawn, Lu's female best friend and who is also her art agent. Overall I was along for the ride, but not overly invested in Lu/True's relationship.

How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is very chaotic and the MC has serious manic-pixie dream girl vibes. It took me a while to get into this book but it is very fun and light
