A lovely warm romance showing how a book club can be more than just literature. Audrey is the best, I would join any book club she is part of! Nice romance between two people working out their priorities and helping others along the way. Chewie can wait outside!

I didn’t realize this was the 5th book in a series, but a romance book about book clubs and gorgeous cafe owners just have my whole heart. This was so cute and wholesome, not steamy but so fun

A very cute read! Romance books are hard for me because they are usually filled with tropes I can't stand and I find the characters' actions ridiculous. This one worked for me though because there was enough going on outside of the romance (the book club) to keep me interested and the romance itself was very sweet and realistic. I would definitely try something else by this author.

This is exactly as titled: A beach read! This would actually make a great book for the book club that is featured in the book, which if done purposefully, was a great job by the author. I loved the characters and the notion that book clubs should be fun! This is the perfect feel-good story for life that doesn't always feel good.

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

This was a blast to read! And it makes you want to join this particular Book Club that Lottie sets up to be totally different from the previous book club she was a member of, and was all just a little too serious for her liking! She loves her romance books - don't we all! - and is keen to meet like minded readers. People who love the same kind of books, but also want to share their daily goings on and the group she assembles are a wonderful mix of people!

Looking for a place to host the club she discovers the local bookshop by the beach, run by the lovely Matthew and his sister, and we also get to see their stories well told and I really enjoyed the mix of issues. He and his family moved to the area to deal with the loss of a loved one and it is clear to see they're all still struggling a little to find their feet. But once the book club is up and running, it seems to give everyone a boost and much needed laughs follow!

It was nice to connect with a book because the characters are so relatable and were having fun with books!! It's saucy and so much fun and the perfect escape read for any time of year!

The real romance in The Beach Reads Book Club by Kathryn Freeman is the enduring love of books, particularly ‘beach read’ books. This love is shared by the cast of characters led by Lottie along with her best friend Sally, and Heidi, Gira, Amy and Audrey, the gin swilling 80 something who loves to read racy novels.

In sharing their passion for romance novels (or whatever it’s called ‘chick lit’ ‘women’s fiction’ ‘rom com’), these characters find community. And in the case of Lottie, a romance of her own with bookshop owner Matt, whose introverted and nursing wounds from his past.

This book is a delightful, fun and sometimes steamy ode to romance novels, and the magic of how books can take people to another place from their everyday life. You will definitely want to take a copy on your next trip to the beach,

What a cute, bookish romance. Lottie and Matt had so much chemistry and I loved the book club that Lottie formed.

Kathryn Freeman is great at writing heartfelt but humorous books! I found The Beach Reads Book Club really enjoyable. In this book, we get to meet Lottie and Matthew who both have some struggles in their love lives. They have instant chemistry but they also bicker a lot. When Lottie decides to start a book club in Matt's book store, they have a chance to finally get to know each other better. I liked that the book club read romance - I have often opted out of book clubs because the books they read are not interesting to me. But romance is so much more than easy fun and this book showed how much of an impact a supportive group can have.

"The Beach Reads Book Club", by Kathryn Freeman, centers around Lottie, who is frustrated with the staleness of her book club. Having grown up in a wonderful book club and knowing the good it can produce, she decides to set off on her own. Along the way, her book club attracts a variety of readers, each more lovable than the last. The bookstore owner where they hold their meetings is a brooding, good-looking single man who doesn't know what to think of Lottie and her book club members. I loved the humor and storyline of this book, and the characters were all so fun and easy to root for.

This was one of my most recent favorite reads. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
