I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

I wanted to like this one as I love holiday stories but it just fell a little flat for me.... DNF"d at about 20%.

I'm not finished yet! But seriously this book is so fun! Best friends to lovers has always been one of my favorite tropes and when you add in Christmas it doesn't disappoint! Definitely recommend

"Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist" by Codi Hall is a cute Christmas story.

Nick Winter is home for Christmas, but it is nothing like he imagined. But when he finds out that his girlfriend has cheated on him, Christmas is ruined. Although, Nick knows that he can go to the family Christmas tree farm with his best friend, Noel, to think of something else.

This is a cute and sweet story. Nick and Noel are sweet characters and are lovely to follow.

The novel is ideal for Christmas time. Although it is a Christmas book, it can be read throughout the year, because it is mostly just a sweet story, even though Christmas is in focus.

"Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist" by Codi Hall is a cute, sweet and exciting read.

I enjoyed the friends to lovers premise of the story, but I think I'm a little out of the targeted age demo for this book. The dialogue was too immature, I didn't love the language, and the descriptive love scenes weren't necessary to the story. Having gone through an unexpected loss recently where I didn't get to say goodbye, I did appreciate the painful grief that Noel was working through and I think I kept reading to see how that resolved itself.

I usually read thrillers or suspense and decided to try something different over the holidays, and while it wasn't my favorite book, I did enjoy parts of it and I'm glad I finished it.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was a good read, but not a great read. I am looking forward to reading this author's next works, as I feel shewill only be able to improve from here. I did love Nick and Noel as a couple and the growth they went through. But certain moments and scenes fell flat or long. Over all it was cute, and I can't wait to read more in this world.

I really enjoyed this book. I like Hall's style of writing. The representation of armed forces and how it echos into the lives when they are away. The grief of Noel was very well done. I did however want the blow up to be earlier in the book and bigger, although it was good just didn't meet the whole mark for me personally. The Winters family was super cute. The back stories were very relatable and I found myself at times very much wanting to dislike the characters of Amber and what's his face. The spicy romance scenes in this book left nothing to be desired, they were very well done. I look forward to more from the Winters family.

I wanted to love this book so badly. Music, Christmas and love? It seemed the perfect set up. But it fell just a little flat for me. The writing was never in spots and I really could not get interested in it.

I have been reading a lot of spooky reads for Halloween season, so I did a complete 180 and picked up Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist. Is it a new favorite Christmas romance? No. Did I still enjoy the book? Absolutely! I love the friends to lovers trope, so that’s an automatic star for me. I loved that it was overly Hallmark movie cheesy, it had just the right about of realness and spiciness to keep it out of the cheese category. Why didn’t this work? It just felt a little too amateur for me. The scenarios and conversations just seemed juvenile at times. When it didn’t feel so YA, I adored it. Definitely recommend for a quick (under 300 pages!!), cute Christmas book if you’re needing something a little shorter and a little steamy.

Nick and Nora meets hallmark Christmas movie. I’m always a sucker for a good friends to lovers romance and add Christmas on it? You’ve got my full attention. Noel’s such a loveable character I absolutely tell in love with. Just like I fell in love with the writing of this book. Love it so much. Thank you netgalley for giving me the chance to review this book

Is this a YA book?
It didn't need to be this long.
A person is in the military for 8 years and his character reads like a freshman in high school...didn't make sense.
I love a friends-to-lovers trope. I loved the setting of this book.
However...10 years after her parents died, she still hadn't tried to sort through her feelings?
Loved the cover.

Christmas rom-coms are literally what I live for, but this one just fell flat in its execution. I found both of the main characters to just be really immature, and I think that kept throwing me out of the story versus enjoying it.

NICK AND NOEL´S CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST💗

"I´m talking about knowing someone, inside an out because you care about what makes that person who they are"

Thank you to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS CasaBlanca for the advanced reader copy!!!
I read this story in December 2021 and I know I'm late in bringing the review but better late than never.
This story is about Nick and Noel who are best friends since they were little and have always done everything and been there for each other. Noel goes to Nick's house for the holidays where he will stay for a few weeks and when he arrives he begins to remember things from his past that still hurt and he realizes that Nick is not only a friend but after one night he begins to see that it may be something more to her but she doesn't want to ruin what's between the two of them.
It is a most beautiful and beautiful Friends to Lovers. I really liked the relationship between the two, on the one hand Nick is a very sweet, attentive boy. worker who would do everything for the people he loves and on the other hand Noel is a girl who has to heal wounds, disappointed in love but wanting to move on.
This romance is slow but even so it is enjoyed too much because we see how they both realize what they feel and give each other a chance.
What bothered me a little was the attitude of both towards the end of the book, because they didn't respect certain things about each other and I got angry seeing that and that it was resolved super quickly.
What gives him a few points was Nick's family, who uff wanted to be able to live with them because they support each other and they are the most fun, I wanted to be at their meetings and make food together.
Apart from that he supports Noel in every way and treats her like his own daughter.

Another thing I loved were the song references that, like the title, create a playlist for everything (Nick more than anything) and reading and watching a song makes the book experience much more fun and at the end of the book all the songs Nick I write throughout history.
I recommend this book if you like slow romances between childhood friends and more than anything it's my recommendation but it's more enjoyable at the time it's written.

"I´m talking about knowing someone, inside an out because you care about what makes that person who they are"

Ah, this book was not the one for me. I was really intrigued by the premise of this one, but I felt like the execution was very mediocre. I wasn’t invested in the characters and didn’t feel any compulsion to keep reading.

DNF - just couldn’t get into the plot or find myself relating to the characters :/ i know of many who enjoyed this book though

Listen. I love me a good playlist. I love me a good holiday romance. This one offered both. My favorite holiday tv show of all time is Dash & Lily, and this book matched that show's energy word for word, moment for moment, and I couldn't have loved it more. It's now in my Christmas Romance rotation, and I'm excited to visit Nick and Noel's story again next Christmas.

Nick and Noel have been best friends since they were kids. When Nick comes home from his final military tour, his long time girlfriend breaks up with him. That’s when things begin to change for them.

I’d first like to say that this barely counts as a Christmas book. I would say it’s a romance set during Christmas time.
Basically a hallmark movie with some spice.

I loved Nick's character and mostly liked Noel too. I found her immature and irritating at times. Noel’s character made this book feel more like YA.

I liked the book enough to keep reading, but it’s one that’s forgettable in my opinion.
