Festive, fun and sugary sweet, Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist is a wonderful read to get you into the holiday spirit.

With an awesome soundtrack, adorkable characters, drama, heat and a topping of tinsel, this cute holiday, friends-to-lovers story is perfect for curling in front of the fireplace with a warm blanket and a streaming cup of hot cocoa.

4 stars and a mix CD.

Codi Hall’s Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist was a festive and cute friends-to-lovers holiday romcom.
I especially liked the adorable town of Mistletoe as the setting, and the main characters: Nick and Noel, childhood friends who are bonded by their love of music.
Noel is a nurse, whose parents died when she was young, and she’s still dealing with grief and patterns of pushing people away to protect her heart. When Nick returns home from his time serving overseas in the military, his longtime girlfriend dumps him and he ends up sharing a kiss with Noel during a night out. As Christmas approaches, Nick and Noel start to explore a relationship with each other while overcoming their individual reservations about being more than friends.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a mixture of sugar and spice in the story—imagine a mash-up of a Hallmark Christmas Movie and a raucous rom-com like Bridesmaids. All of the songs mentioned along the way adds some extra fun.

"Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist": 4⭐

(Unpaid Review: thank you to @netgalley, @codihall and the publishers for allowing me to read this eArc copy in exchange for a review.)

What can say other than congratulations Codi, for a book well-written and beautifully done on the Christmas spirit!

This reminded me so much of the "Dash and Lily's: Book of Dares" and it was the best time! I felt so cozy and comfy in my bed reading this book! Really perfect for when you need a little cheer!

This book was about friends to lovers who are single and begin a relationship. They fight the grief and some other very in-depth drama in their life to be together. This is a cute, Christmas romcom that includes a military homecoming and so very steamy scenes.
Neck and Noel are so sweet and I loved all of the characters just as much. The music adds a nice touch and there are some cheesy moments in this book but they all add up to be one great feel good winter book!

Nick and Noel have been best friends forever. When he comes home after eight years in the military, they are suddenly both single. This book defied tropes. I never knew what to expect next. The songs and playlists were such fun, and I love that they were all compiled at the end of the book.

Parts were rather heavy, as Noel struggled with grief. That added to the depth and meaning of the book for me. There were a few interactions in the middle of the book that annoyed me. But I really enjoyed the ending.

You don't need to wait for Christmas for this one. It's a good-all-year book with a few Christmas traditions added. And it could be especially perfect for winter because it's steamy.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. These opinions are my own.

TW: death of a parent (before book begins), pregnancy complications

I need more of the town of Mistletoe!

Nick and Noel were adorable and this will be a perfect Christmas tale. Yes, it’s a but predictable, but you can’t help but root for love wins in this one.
Filled with military homecoming, delicious catfights, saucy hot steaminess and the sass of Noel… big win for me. The fact that Nick still makes ‘mix cds’ is stinkin adorable.

This book was the perfect reminder of how I love the Christmas season. Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist is a friend's to lovers romance set around Christmas time. The book follows Noel a busy nurse and Nick, who has just returned from a stint in the military. Noel and Nick grew up together as their mothers were best friends after Noel's parents die in a car accident around Christmas. We follow the clueless meant-to-be navigate Nick's breakup with his longtime girlfriend Amanda that we absolutely didn't like and the kiss that lit up the Christmas lights in our head (did they really kiss?). I totally loved and adored this sweet romance. A huge thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for my e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 4/5
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Warnings: death of a parent, bullying
Read if you liked: Hallmark movies + a little steam
Steam: 2.5-3/5
Tropes: friends to lovers

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion. Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist will be published on October 5th.

Ah, this book was a bit like a warm hug, childhood friends to lovers set in a picturesque small-town during the Christmas season…sounds like something that came straight off a Hallmark set and it felt that way but we got a little steam.

Things I loved: Nick and Noel had great chemistry, it felt natural and organic to see them getting together! The friendships and family dynamics were a perfect add. The playlists were a nice touch, though I wish we could have had them. They characters were genuinely kind and supportive of each other. It was exactly what I needed when I read it, a charming delightful love story during Christmas.

Things I didn’t care for: Amber…I know, I know we needed the conflict but (spoiler) we never really got to the root of the issue and I would have liked more.

I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved this book. Childhood best friends to lovers during the Christmas season, such a great combination.
Nick comes home from the military, for good, to what he thinks will be a wonderful holiday homecoming with his family and long-term girlfriend. But he comes home to find his girlfriend has been cheating on him and dumps him not even a day after he gets home. Meanwhile Noel, a busy nurse and Nick’s best friend, has just found out that her latest casual hookup has started seeing someone else without telling her. So when Nick and Noel end up at a bar with some friends and they see both of their exes things go a little sideways when the two friends end up kissing. After that their long-time friendship starts to get questioned as they start to realize there may be some more feelings between them. Exploring more than a friendship can be scary but it can also be completely worth it.
Noel’s parents dies in a car crash when she was younger so Noel has always been hesitant to get close to anyone. She has Nick’s family but even they get pushed away at times, so opening up her heart to a real relationship and love is difficult. This definitely made the change in Nick and Noel’s relationship a slow burn but I don’t think it would’ve worked any other way. I liked seeing nick remain cautious with Noel and not rush into things too quickly because he knew it would scare her off. You could tell throughout the book they were both falling for each other a lot, and had maybe had some of those feeling for longer than they initially realized. I also truly loved their shared love fore music, the memories that were connected to certain songs for them, and the playlists they’d make each other for all kinds of occasions. Music was a real element of connection for them, even more so when they have to sing together at a holiday event.
I loved how supportive Nick’s family was. His sisters pushed Nick and Noel to be together more than Nick did at times. And even though his parents weren’t as pushy you could tell they were both very supportive. The whole family also knew that Nick had to be caution and made that quite clear to him which I admired. They all really took into account Noel’s feelings and issues with letting people in.
Of course to stir up some drama Nick’s ex Amber, who had always had a rivalry with Noel, always seemed to be nearby. Amber was also close friends with Noel’s best friend which mad things difficult when they had to work together to help their friend. I did find the rivalry between Amber and Noel a bit childish at times especially when you could tell they were trying to push each other even just a bit. Amber did love to make Noel question herself and also tried, maybe a bit too hard, to remain friends with Nick. I felt some sympathy for Noel at those times as you could tell that some of the things Amber said truly affected her.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was a perfect holiday read that I honestly think could be read at any time of the year. It will certainly be on my list of books to read this holiday season and I can’t wait to get a physical copy of it. Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Cassablanca for the ARC.

exactly what I look for in a romance. The connection was there and the chemistry. I love that the two characters had so much history together and I’m just a sucker for a best friends to lovers romance in general. I thought that the story was really genuine and organic and it didn’t feel forced or implausible in anyway. it was definitely a little cheesy at times but I just love the backdrop of the holiday season and all of the fun and shenanigans that go along with it.

A delightful christmas story about friends who become lovers(or always were that thing and didn't notice before haha) I just find it a little bit extense to my taste, but was a good journey anyway.

At the end of my summer, I’ve read a few upcoming holiday themed books and I’ll have to say that this one was my favorite of them! Nick and Noel (already cute names for a holiday book!) we’re cute and fun and the story seemed to just flow. I really enjoyed the author’s writing and liked the plot of the story—was it the most unique story of all time? No. But was it written in a fun way that made you feel like you were watching a holiday made for TV movie that we all secretly love and watch over and over again? Absolutely! Great book for the holidays!

Have you ever read a book and instantly known that you could be real life friends with the characters? Well I for sure did with this book! Nick and Noel are truly wonderful. Noel lost her parents suddenly during the Christmas season as a teen and now it makes her apprehensive towards starting a true relationship instead of just “jumping into bed” when she got an itch.

Throughout the book we see Noel maturing and coming to terms with her past. I felt like the book was one of those precious Christmas Hallmark movies that you watch even though you know how its gonna end. For me, I felt like this book was like a warm blanket wrapped around you while listening to Christmas carols.

Please run don’t walk and get this book!

The characters felt just a bit too immature. For example, Nick thought he was going to propose to a woman he'd only seen a few times in years. It was cute, but overall unsatisfying because the characters were kind of annoying because of their immaturity.

4.5 stars
Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist is a romcom that is so utterly sweet and fluffy. It really warmed my heart and reading it just made me smile so much. This has friends-to-lovers in it and I'm a sucker for that trope. From the start, I enjoyed the bond between Nick and Noel and I could see how much they cared for each other. And I could also see in the little things, how they were slowly falling for each other. Overall, the plot was a little cliched, but like I mentioned, it had the perfect amount of fluff along with some tiny angst.
There were some parts where I found Noel a little childish, especially when it came to her feud with Amber; but overall, she was such a fun character. And Nick was soo sweet; he's the type of guy I would definitely want to be friends with and I know I would eventually for him. I'm actually so glad that I got to read this because now I'm looking to get a physical copy of this when it comes out.

ARC provided by NetGalley. This was pretty good. It was your standard Christmas romance. I liked the pacing of this book. It's like things happened at the right time, ya know? This book is realistic in the way it shows long distance doesn't always work out. Not many complaints by me.

What a fun read. It has sass and spice and not everyone is nice in the little Idaho town of Mistletoe. I liked the Christmas theme, especially with the names, certain scenes were absolutely hilarious. I enjoyed the cattiness swapped between Amber and Noel. I have to say my two favorites were Anthony and Pike. As minor characters they stole the show multiple times. I hope they find good partners. Lighten up your holiday reading list with this one on it.

Three and a half stars ⭐⭐⭐⭒
Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist by Codi Hall is a light, fun holiday romance and is the first in the author’s Mistletoe Romance series. I enjoyed this somewhat steamy, quick romance that is perfect for the holiday season.

Noel is a busy nurse in a labor and delivery ward at the local hospital. Nick, has just returned from a stint in the military. Noel and Nick grew up together as their mothers were best friends. When Noel was younger, her parents died in a car crash just before Christmas, and Nick’s family, the Winters, took her in and cared for her until she joined the military and got her nursing degree.

The book starts with Nick returning home, excited to spend time with his girlfriend, Amanda. Instead of the joyful reunion Nick expected, he was dumped on his first day back. As he begins to realize that Amanda wasn’t the perfect girlfriend he had always thought she was, his thoughts turn to his best friend Noel, and how she is the one that has always been there for him.

Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist is a light, fun romantic comedy that I enjoyed. I felt so much compassion for Noel and was rooting for her to figure out what she really wants in life. Nick is just wonderful, he’s such a good guy, and I loved his family as well. I did not care for Amber, the ex-girlfriend of Nick, and I thought the feud between Amber and Noel was a bit over the top and childish. Also, the book had a few too many childish antics from Nick’s friends for my taste. But, overall the book was enjoyable. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book made me remind of how fabulous to celebrate Christmas anytime you wish if you preserve its true spirit. You can even celebrate in August when you get an arc copy of one of the sweetest romcoms you recently read!

There are so many positive elements of this story make you giddy, smile ears to ears, warm your heart and brighten your dark mood with rainbow colors!

Both Nick and Noah were adorable.
Nick’s family is one of the sweetest fictional families you’d like to encounter in real life!
A brief fake dating ( correction: kissing) for revenging their exes, friends to lovers theme executed well.

Supporting characters are also quite brilliant. Momma Victoria, Anthony are my favorites.

You want to get transported to the small town the story takes place and buy a house, working at Christmas tree farm, making friends with those characters ( at least it’s amazing getaway for one month!)
Summary of the plot: Noah serves at overseas and he finds out his girlfriend cheated on him when he was away but he can quickly heal his emotional wounds as soon as he reunites with his childhood friend Noel he hasn’t seen for 8 years.
As they spend more time, sharing their special playlists, the undeniable attraction blooms but Noel already lost her parents ten years ago and she doesn’t want to risk losing their unique friendship.

As you can imagine there are intimate angst moments and Noel’s grief and pain for the loss of her family reflected quiet realistically from her POV!

Overall: quick, sweet, easy, feelgood read which fills your heart with happiness. Definitely recommended to the ones who deserve celebrating Christmas any time they want! Just keep your spirits high!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publishers at Sourcebooks for giving me the ARC in exchange for an honest review. When this popped up on NetGalley I immediately requested it. Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist is a Christmas Romance novel about two childhood best friends who both love music and their hometown of Mistletoe. When Nick gets back from the military, his heart gets broken and Noel does everything she can to help him pick up the pieces. This adorable friends to lovers romance goes on sale on October 5th and is available for pre-order now.

This was an adorable romance in such a fun small town. Can Momma Victoria adopt me??? I love the Winters family with my whole heart. Nick’s family is just so adorable with how much the razz each other while also being there for each other. They live on a Christmas tree farm with their dog butch. It’s just way too cute for me. We also had Noel and her best friend Gabby which felt like such a solid and long standing friendship. This is such a solid Christmas read for anyone who loves Christmas, snowy towns, or Christmas tree farms. I loved that this book included a few pages that listed all the songs that were referenced in the novel. Nick and Noel are passionate about music and their playlists so I had to give them all a listen and add them to my own playlists.

I bought into the friendship completely, but I struggled to buy into the romance. I don’t know if it was because Noel was so worried about protecting her heart or if it was something about the back and forth way their relationship went in this book. But by the end I was there for it. But even saying that, this is still one of the better Christmas romance novels I’ve read.
