Such a cute holiday book! I am generally not a huge fan of friends-to-lovers, but this was definitely so well done!

First, there are some steamy scenes (but I honestly would have preferred more), but much of the book focuses on breaking down some of the emotional walls the heroine has built up after the death of her parents. I felt the will-they-won't-they went on a bit too long, but I still really enjoyed the book and definitely recommend it to lovers of holiday reads, sweet romances with a hint of steam, and friends to lovers tropes.

This book delivers everything you need from a holiday romance: a quaint small town, festive settings, family, and heartwarming moments.

I've heard this described as a "sexy hallmark movie" and I think that definitely fits!

This was another fun holiday read. I mean jeez the Christmas references alone were crazy. Nick had two sisters named Holly and Merry. And they lived in a town called Mistletoe and all their birthdays happened to be in December. It was too cheesy, but also great.

I had a couple issues with some of the characters. Amber was such a bitch. Like it was unbelievable how much of a bitch she was and how no one said anything until her and Nick broke up. And how could Gabby be friends with her? She was terrible and knew how badly she treated Noel and literally her mom and her fiancé and everyone didn't understand why she was friends with her.

And then we don't really get a real reason or climatic scene with her. She's just like idk I'm trying to be nice now. I found that super annoying.

But other than that, Nick and Noel had amazing chemistry. It was such a a fun friends to lovers trope.

3/5

dnf because it just wasn’t good. Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this arc but i really just couldn’t get into it. I thought that they starting feeling things for each other way to soon and the timing was just weird. Cringed a ton at the dialogue. Overall just dull and lacking excitement

✨Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist by Codi Hall✨

Genre: Romance
Series: Mistletoe Romance Book #1
Star Rating: ☆☆☆☆

Alexa play “Christmas Tree Farm by Taylor Swift”

🎄 Small Town Christmas Romance
🎄 Fake dating
🎄 Childhood Friends to Lovers

Nick Winter has just returned home from overseas after time overseas in the military, what should have been a great holiday with his long-term girlfriend was flipped on its’ head when he learns of her infidelity while he was stationed.

The only thing he can count on now is working at the family Christmas tree farm alongside his best friend Noel Carter while a particular proclivity for Christmas tunes meant to brighten up his Christmas season.

The more time Nick and Noel spend together sharing their playlists the more their attraction grows will their reunification heal the emotional wounds they both have?

This was a delightfully quick feel good winter romance that gave me nothing but warm feelings and wishing it was Christmas time already.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for and advanced reader copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

The one trope I love a tiny bit more than enemies to lovers is FRIENDS to lovers, and this book 100% delivered on that! The storyline seemed a little over done, but it takes place during Christmas and I’m a sucker for a holiday novel, so I let it slide! Super cute and quick, with a dash of steamy!

I haven't seen the movie, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, but now I really want to. As I'm unable to draw comparisons, I can't say how similar it is.
Nick is home and discharged from the military. He returns expecting to marry his long-time girlfriend, but she has other ideas. Noel's current booty call is seeing someone else. Naturally, what these two best friends need is a fake relationship to avoid the sympathy and potential awkwardness around the exes.
Codi did an amazing job with both characters' back story and reasonings for why a fake relationship was necessary. I found that the emotional arc was smooth and I loved the MC's interactions together. I enjoyed the supporting cast and would love to revisit this group again in a future novel.

If you're looking for a cute friends to lovers book that also gives you Christmas cheer, then you'll definitely love this book. The characters felt so down-to-earth, that you couldn't help but root for them. Nick and Noel have been best friends since they were children. After Nick returns home after being stationed overseas and gets dumped by his long-distance girlfriend, his best friend Noel and their feels Anthony and Pike are dead set on helping Nick move on. But when faking a relationship to stick it to their exes leads to a kiss, Nick and Noel realize that there is more than friendship between them. Can these two friends be friends and explore a relationship? Or are they forced to choose?

This is a quick and easy read. It's funny, charming and incredibly sweet. It also deals with grief as Noel tries to come to terms with the loss of her parents. Even though Noel deals with grief, it tackles it in away that was respectful of the topic while still being a light-hearted book.

Codi Hall’s Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist is a cute Friends to Lovers Christmas romcom, set in fictional but scenic Mistletoe, Idaho!

I liked this book, it was fun to get to know the cast of characters, and the main characters were relatable.

The romance between the two main characters in this book was cute and fun - the obstacles to overcome were understandable even if the crazy ex was a bit too crazy for my taste. There were some very funny moments in this book, but there was also some depth as relates to dealing with childhood trauma.

I loved the references to songs and especially Christmas songs and the playlist provided at the back of the book !

This is the first book in the Mistletoe Romance series - it’s pub day was Tuesday October 5th but it has been out as an Audible Original only on audible since last winter.

Thank you to @sourcebookscasa and @netgalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you like friends to lovers, fake dating, and Christmas music, grab Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist by Codi Hall asap! This book is out on Tuesday, 10/5. Thank you @sourcebookscasa and @netgalley for the #giftedcopy!

Ughhhh this book is exactly what I needed yesterday - I read the whole thing while watching college football, and the perfect palate cleanser read after a heavier historical fiction. It has my favorite tropes, some funny moments, and just the right amount of steam.

Nick and Noel have been best friends since they were born. Nick is finally home for good from his military service, and is ready to move on with life…but he gets dumped. Noel has not had a serious relationship - ever - because she’s afraid of losing another person she loves. The guy she’d been casually seeing dumps her, and she’s more annoyed than hurt. While her and Nick are out with friends celebrating his return, they run into both exes - and end up kissing to try to make them jealous.

Only, the kiss feels right.

They decide to pretend to be together, but everyone is excited about it - except Nick’s ex (and Noel’s nemesis) Amber. She’s pretty crazy, and there may be a scene involving flying m&ms and a slap with a handful of ranch.

Nick and Noel are adorable together but can Noel get her fears under control to try things for real? Or will they be back in the friend zone?

This is a Cute Friends to Lovers Christmas Romance, and this is the first book in the Mistletoe Romance series. I loved this book, and the characters in this book was so much fun getting to know. This book quickly became one of my favourite holiday reads of all time. I can't wait to re-read next to a warm fire on a snowy day.

Nick Winter is just out of the military with the plans of returning home to his long-term girlfriend. He has plans for a memorable holiday with her but when he finds out she cheated on him while he was away, his holiday and life plans of marriage and kids are end. At least he has his best friend Noel and her endless holiday spirit to keep him in the Christmas mood. Noel has also recently been dumped, and to get back at their ex’s on a fun night out at the bar, they kiss.
A kiss that was supposed to be fake felt nothing but real. Now the question is if they should risk their friendship to find out if it could be more.
I loved Nick and Noel’s relationship both as friends and as friends trying to sort out their complicated love. I also loved Noel’s relationship with Nick’s family and the connections they all shared. This book not only gave me all the Christmas feels, but it is super witty and made me laugh out loud. The author did a fantastic job with character development through the book and you really fall in love with many of the characters. Since this is going to be a series, it was great meeting the characters that will hopefully play a part in the next book. Although at first I felt the Christmas names and names of places were a bit cheesy, I later fell in love with them and found the connections cute. I also loved the playlist connection and was so happy to see the full playlist at the end of the book. It would make the perfect pairing while reading.

This one is definitely a five-star Christmas read.

Thank you Netgalley and Codi Hall for a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

TW for grief

I LOVE THIS BOOK. I couldn't put it down. It is or is right there with my favorite romances of the year. If you want an adorable, funny, spicy Christmas romance with incredible characters this is a must read. The friends to lovers trope is done so well I felt like I knew the characters and the town. We follow two best friends, Nick and Noel, who have always shared a love of music and have been each others rocks through the ups and downs. Noels parents died when she was in high school and Nick's family became her family. Noel is still processing her grief through out the book so be aware of TW for grief. Nick has just gotten out of the army and moves home ready to be with his girlfriend when he learns she has been hanging out with other guys and she dumps him. Noel's hook up buddy moves on to another girl and to make both of their exs jealous Nick and Noel make out at the bar one night. Things go from there. There is drama, laugh out loud moments, some decent spice, family and friendship moments, and so much more.

I am still trying to figure out if the next books in the series are going to be about Nick and Noel's two best guy friends (Pike and Anthony) or if they will be about Nick's sisters, or if it will be about Nicks friends with his sisters. I think it will be about the guy friends but who knows. Either way I can't wait to see what else Codi Hall comes out with.

Enjoyable riff....

On Nick and Norah, but its Nick and Noel and a plethora of Christmas theme-ness. As in Nick Winters just moved back to Mistletoe. At 26, he was ready to pop the question to Amber. Instead, she dumps him on his first day back and its the impetus for Noel and Nick, friends for over 20 years, since they were kids, to look at each other in a different light.

Set to music, Christmas erupted all over the place, and new-adulting.
Noel is standoff-ish but is part of the Winter's family. She's got some issues and Nick (a great guym but totally blind to how awful Amber was) has to reset his who he really wants.

Liked the vibe and fun of this book. It was light, Christmas and music and pop references.

You can tell from the cover this book is gonna be cute!

And it was! Is there any cuter trope than friends to lovers? I think not! And add Christmas to the mix?? The cutest! This book was a fun one and indeed cute, Nick and Noel are long time friends and while trying to make their significant exes jealous, they decide to fake date each other to make their exes seethe. Good plan right? But we all know what fake dating leads to!

If you're a lover of holiday romances and the friends to lovers' trope, this book is for you!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the earc in return for an honest review.

Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist is an adorable yet steamy holiday romance story. It was just what I needed at that moment and I thoroughly enjoyed diving into the friends-to-lovers relationship/fake dating plot.

Don’t let the adorable cover fool you! This open door story had me making sure no one was reading over my shoulder as I indulged in the attraction and built up to Noel’s and Nick’s eventual more-than-friends relationship.

Although not super Christmasy, the family dynamics of Nick’s family was fun to read and their friends Anthony and Pike were hilarious. The ending of the story left me with a smile on my face.

A quick and fun read, this book will leave you laughing, while also fanning your face with it’s provocative moments.
