Wow! Fast paced thriller that is impossible to put down. The book begins with a hostage situation that quickly spirals out of control. Cam and Jade are a happily married couple with two beautiful children and a string of successful restaurants. What Jade doesn’t know is that Cam is in debt up to his eyeballs and has left many people bitter and angry. When one of the restaurants burn down and his wife and children are kidnapped, Cam is left to come up with a huge amount of money in a short amount of time or lose the people who mean the most to him. Taught thriller with many twists and turns. Would give way more than 5 stars if possible.

Ummmm can you say new favorite book?!

Thank you NetGalley, Kimberly Belle and Park Row books for my early copy!
Talk about a heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat, ride! Even though this book takes place over the course of a couple hours, it packed a punch. I BINGED this one because I needed to know what was going to happen with Jade and the Bees (the kids!). Each page had my momma bear heart on full alert and the ending did not disappoint. Belle's books are always 5 star reads, but this deserves more. I highly recommend this one and cannot wait for December so I can get a physical copy on my shelf!

"Everyone is about to know what her husband isn’t telling her…"

Kimberly Belle, you outdid yourself with this one! HOLY MOLY! What did I just read? Cue, the major book hangover, I am not sure I will be able to get over this one.

My Darling Husband, was absolutely captivating from page one. I could not and would not put this down for even a five minute bathroom break. The creativity was on point, the character development was well done, the plot was just mind blowing! YES YES YES!!! Give me more! I was so upset when I finished thinking to myself "ok, now what do I do with myself" .

I have become a huge fan of Kimberly Belle, this is without a doubt a five star read! Go do yourself a favor and pre order My Darling Husband!

Strap yourself into your favorite comfy chair, get a huge drink, and plenty of snacks because you won't want to put this book aside for anything AND you need to be strapped in because it's a heck of a ride.

Kimberly Belle has turned up the heat with My Darling Husband and what a wonderful heat it is! The character I loved - Beatrix - rocked! She was an absolute star and such a fantastic addition to this story.

I don't want to spoil this and it would be easy to do. Suffice it to say Cam you may love or hate, but no matter how you feel, this is a great ride that has a satisfying ending (one that made me feel like everyone got what they deserved.)

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and author for an ARC at my request. All thoughts are my own.

I have loved every book that I have read by this author and she just keeps getting better and better! This book had me hooked from the very beginning with this great storyline and all of the great and believable characters. I can’t say enough good things about this book! I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this very suspenseful book.

Thank you so much to Netgalley & the publishers for the chance to read this book.

I am head over hills in love with this book! It kept me on edge the entire time! I absolutely love how it has the interview as narration, I thought that was a nice add in to mix things up.
This is absolutely the best thriller I’ve read so far this year!

I love Belle's books and was looking forward to this one. However, I didn't really love the storyline. I kind of guessed the ending about halfway through the book, and it was somewhat abrupt. However, it did keep my attention and was an easy pool read!

Page-turning kidnap situation with a good plot. The Steak King of Atlanta's wife arrives home to a masked gunman who demands money from her famous husband and threatens to kill his wife and two young children if he fails to deliver the amount by 7pm. But all is not how it seems and not everyone has been honest.

Lots of twists to keep the reader engaged, but I found it a bit odd that I felt more of a connection to the home invader than to the lead characters. I liked the multiple POVs, but I wasn't crazy about the ending. Not much of a POP to it.

I just read the book "My Darling Husband", by Kimberly Belle. I want to thank NetGalley for giving me a copy of the book in exchange for a review.
Let me just start by saying that I am a big fan of Kimberly Belle's work. I LOVED her book "Dear Wife" It was a page turner filled with suspense and intrigue and a wonderful mystery. I was so excited to begin reading this book, and I was looking forward to being wrapped up in one of her wonderful mysteries once again. Sadly, I found myself putting this book down quite a bit. It wasn't that it was uninteresting or didn't carry an intriguing mystery. A woman and her two kids are held at gunpoint by a masked man who in turn demands that the husband, a seemingly rich restauranteur, round up an enormous amount of money in exchange for his family's freedom. Who is the masked man? What secrets is the husband hiding? Why is the masked man targeting this family? All questions which are answered in the book. Just not in the most exciting or thrilling way.
I did enjoy that the book was told through four different perspectives: The husband, the wife, the masked man, and a reporter. That was interesting and kept me curious. I also enjoyed the characters, especially the daughter. I thought she was well written,. I also liked the reasons why the masked man needed the money.
I liked the heroics of the main character, Jade, and how she was able to fight for her kids.
I guess I thought there would be a bit more of a kapow at the ending, with a more crazy reveal. I kind of ended with a whimper instead of a bang, and I didn't feel like WOW when I was finished.
I suppose that is my major critique: there was no WOW at the end or really at any point in the novel. A steady stream of events that kept me interested enough to continue reading, but not enough to say WOW, You HAVE to read this book.

Cam Lasky is a celebrity chef and the owner of five Instagram-worthy restaurants. Hard to get reservations make it the place to be seen and it doesn't hurt that Cam and his wife Jade look like the perfect couple. He must be living the good life, right? Unfortunately, not so much, as a perfect picture often doesn't tell the story underneath. The book opens with a reporter interviewing Cam, but the questions she asks make it quite apparent that he is no longer a much-admired man.
We then take a step back in time when Jade and their children are just going home. But nothing about this day will be ordinary, as a masked intruder is waiting for their arrival in the garage. A terrified Jade knows money must be the reason why, as she desperately tries to keep her children safe. Money does play a role, as Cam scrambles to meet this man's demands. But there is more going on here than one might initially assume.
The intruder knows an awful lot about this family, and Jade has to remain strong in case Cam fails to deliver the ransom on time. As the story progressed, pieces of the puzzle are revealed and I kept my guessing hat on to figure out who this man was and what Cam might have done to set this tense situation in motion. The strange part to me was the fact that by the time it ended, I think I felt the sorriest for the intruder. A fast-paced page flipper that I read at the beach.

Kimberly Belle does not disappoint! I was captivated, and devoured this title in one sitting.I couldn’t wait to find out how this one played out.

A mother and her two children held hostage with a gunman asking for a ransom. Wow! As a mother, I was immediately invested in finding out what happened to this family. Parents will do anything to protect their children, right? This is a great story about a celebrity chef, his family, and the kidnapper who has more than just money on his mind. A fast paced and exciting read!

This is a super tense nail biter but for some reason it fell a bit short for me. I liked the plot and the ending but I never really connected with any of the characters. 3.5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cam and Jade are happily married with 2 kids. He is a restauranteur in Atlanta and they seem to have a great life until one day, when a man holds Jade and the kids hostage in their home and Cam has to come up with $700k+ in a matter of hours to save their lives. Except Cam has money problems and his best money making restaurant just burned down. Where will he get the money to save his family?

This sounds like a fast paced novel and it is billed as such, and it does take place over a matter of hours, but it just wasn't that entertaining to me. I don't love hostage or kidnapping novels because there is too much sitting around with nothing going on and I find that boring. I felt that many more chapters were devoted to Jade and the kids, rather than Cam and his quest to get the money. I also wasn't overly wowed with the reason for the kidnapping. The result it that is was an ok quick read for me, and I will read more from this author, but this wasn't my favorite of her novels.

Miss Belle, you’ve done it again! You have sucked me in to a book that I could not put down! I did not see that coming, TWISTS AND TURNS that kept me guessing until the end! Kimberly Belle can really tell a story. This book is no exception!!

This is one of those suspense novels that I found myself actually pacing while I was reading!
It is that good!
It is intense, riveting, and down-right scary all rolled into the pages!
The nightmare starts right from the very beginning as Jade pulls her car into the garage and there is a masked man inside with a gun to take Jade and her two children hostage.
The plot quickly thickens and things become spine-chilling as Cam, who is Jade's husband, needs to come up with a large amount of ransom money to save his family.
Can he find the money? Will there be time? Who is this masked man and why is he after this family?

Do yourself a favor, stop everything and read this!
The conclusion is totally not what I expected and was the icing on this thriller!
Excellent and definitely my favorite Kimberly Belle novel!
WOW!
Thank you #ParkRow, #Harlequin for the opportunity to preview this ARC and leave my review.

This book was tense from the very first page. After a few chapters, I actually started over to pay a little more attention to details. Very very good. I loved Jade, Beatrix and Baxter from the beginning. Their emotions, conflict and strength were portrayed in an excellent manner. I've already recommended to several readers.

Put put put put toot ( my heavy breathing effects) I’m congratulating myself to finish this book after suffering panic attacks at least 7 times, biting my nails, scraping my nail polish, stress eating three bags of hot munchies, 5 pints of ice cream, biting my cushions ( no food left and eventually I had to channel my anxiety to somewhere), swallowing feathers ( damn cushions! I have to order new ones), coughing up, falling down from couch, rolling up ( that’s the only way I can still hold my ereader and move my numb body through the direction of bathroom at the same time) ! But mostly I congratulate myself to finish it without risk of possible heart attack !

Argh! This is tense! Tenser than any random L. A. woman’s forehead who has been injected Botox at least hundred times!

Think about the movies Panic Room meets Funny Games: home invasion by dangerous intruder who threatens a woman and two children’s lives while her darling husband shared secrets bigger than my grandiose TBR list!

The story starts with a tv interview between Channel 7 reporter Juanita Moore ( second cousin of Julianne Moore, okay I lied, let’s continue )and Cam Lasky who was shunned by media for months, portrayed as one of the biggest grifters, most hated behind Pharma Bro, Martin Shkreli. We learn that Cam was once upon a time a top chef, owner of 5 highly appraised restaurants. But the reason behind public hate is not he has same treats with Gordon Ramsey. Hell, no! It’s connected to his family who suffered a big tragedy and the reason why they suffered so much connected with his tremendous lies he kept from them.

Cam and his wife Jade seem like power couple, having all including two adorable children in private school , spacious home, fancy cars, designer clothes, luxurious vacations! Such a dreamy life which turns into a nightmare with the web of lies crack the deceiving facade of their lives.

Pacing is incredibly heart pounding, minute by minute you’re observing the action packed, extremely disturbing interactions between the masked home invader and Jade who is smart, connecting the dots so fast, getting enough clues about the motivation and plan of their kidnapper, calculating everything to save her two children. But their intruder are always few steps ahead of her. Why? How can he know too much about their lives? How can he know so many details of their house and their daily habits? Was he spying on them before?

At the same time we see how Cam tries to find the ransom money , watching the footage of his home, witnessing how his family suffers under control of a villain!

Overall: this is intense, extremely high tension, exciting, breath taking , absolutely best book of the author earned my five unlawful entry, parenting, high tension, nail biter, mind bender stars!

Absolutely one of the best and most anticipated thrillers of the year!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin / Park Row for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

This is a fast paced domestic thriller that speeds along from the very first chapter. Kimberly Belle ratchets up the suspense and never let’s go. It’s a home invasion with a twist that grabs us by the throat and doesn’t let go. The wife is being followed by a suspicious man and the husband has a fire at one of his restaurants. The storylines converge as we follow along throughout the day. The chapters are told by the various characters with the time of day posted. My one complaint is that the marriage could have been a little more developed at the beginning of the book. The tension is high throughout the novel and it is very appropriate for the time we are now living in. This is an author that I always enjoy and she never disappoints! #MyDarlingHusband #KimberlyBelle #NetGalley
