This was a very cute, fun royal read. The main character Lacey is a theme park princess and the type of girl you want to be friends with. While working as a princess in her theme park she meets a man Henry, who she later finds out is a real life prince and his daughter Rose. If you are looking for a sweet, predictable romance this is it! Hallmark publishing has a win with this romance!

This is an original story! The amusement park is such a unique spin! I always love anything related to Hallmark! And Brittany Presley is a favorite narrator of mine!

Thank you, Teri Wilson, Hallmark, Dreamscape and Netgalley! All opinions are my own.

Light & fluffy this one. Single dad real-life prince meets amusement park princess and fall in love. This one put a smile on my face for sure! Narration by Brittany Pressley is always pleasant as well. 3.5 stars. Also thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for allowing me to read this one for an honest review.

Super cute. I adored the idea of the fairytale theme park, and the pretend princess female lead is absolutely lovable and sweet. You want her to find happiness and love. The widow father/real prince is also great and loves his little girl. And the little girl is just the sweetest ever.

Did not finish. Not the type of book I enjoy. I gave it a good try, but just couldn't waste my time any longer.

Hallmark is known for its holiday movies, and now they have books to match. Lacey is a face character at a major Florida theme park. She is a princess. She has always wanted to be a theme park princess and her reasoning is sound. At one princess tea party in the park she meets Grumpy Baseball Hat dad. Turns out this grump is a prince of a small country on the French Riviera. He is making his little girls dream of being a normal child come true for her 7th birthday, which includes a trip to the land of fairytales and fake princesses. This book is everything you expect a book from Hallmark to be. Its troupes include instalove, prince/commoner, and widowed father. And while the reader knows what is going to happen in this book, after all it’s exactly what the reader wants to happen, it’s the fun of getting there. It’s the story that makes the reader smile and their heart happy. My main complaints are it’s only 8-12 days, and the books specifically mentions a PINK princess dress and they used a yellow dress on the cover. Other than that, this book was everything I wanted when I started it.

Upon first meeting the main character, Lacey Pope, one could experience a toothache with the sugary sweet persona that is Lacey, but you can’t help but like her. She has a heart and soul of gold and is such a kind and caring person. The crown prince of Bella-Moritz is also a kind and caring man raising his daughter after her mother died. He is determined that his daughter, Rose, experience life and all its wonder and glory outside the castle walls.

I enjoyed seeing the bond develop between Lacey and Rose, which created a bond between Lacey and Henry and though this story didn’t contain any white-hot passion escapades, I was completely immersed in the joy of the story and the numerous references to various fairytales.

This story delivers many memorable characters besides Lacey, Henry and Rose. I enjoyed the camaraderie Henry has with his security officer, Ian, Lacey’s friendship with Ava who accompanies her to Bella-Moritz and appears to be having a romance of her own with Ian. I would love to revisit these characters to see what happens there. I absolutely loved the bond that Lacey and Henry’s mother develop over Lacey’s ballgown crisis.

My Final Verdict: I highly recommend this story to readers looking for a sweet romance that confirms fairy tales do come true.

4.5 stars rounded down.
I can't give a mental twinkie 5 stars. However, this is probably the best romantic, corny novel I have ever read. It is absolutely delightful. The premise captured my imagination from the first pages. Lacey established herself as a strong, self-sufficient character immediately by breaking up with her fiance when he insisted she get a more appropriate/dignified job. Lacey's dream has always been to work as a theme park princess, which is exactly what she does for a living. She has respectable reasons for choosing this career, and is not going to give it up because her boyfriend wants his future wife to do something else. This may be a light, fun story; but Lacey is a well-developed and very likeable character.
The plot is hugely predictable. It's predictable like a daydream. The predictability does not make the story any less satisfying. The fulfillment of expectation is very enjoyable. This is a modern Cinderella story, a millennial Grace Kelley fantasy, and a Princess Di romance with a happy ending. The queen is a cliche, the daughter is a cliche. The prince may be a bit of cliche himself, but every female reader will fall in love with him.
One of the reasons I cannot give this delightful book 5 stars is because it contains a glaring error. Bella Moritz is a fictional principality; a Monaco clone. The author repeatedly refers to the country as a principality. As such, it would not have a queen. By definition, the highest royal title in the land is "prince" and/or "princess". Possibly the author refers to Henry's mother as "queen" to stress that she is an older adult, but she is also the reigning royal. Maybe this can be changed or explained somehow before publication. Unfortunately, the author will be criticized over and over by reviewers for not doing the most basic research.
I have not read this author before, but I will look for her in the future. I also hope this will be the first in a series. I would like to read more about these characters. As a Hallmark publication, this novel is free of sex scenes, swearing, violence, etc. It would be appropriate for young readers. I actually wondered if it was a YA novel.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This story is like cotton candy, lots of sweetness and fluff but not much substance. I am usually a fan of Hallmark movies and all their glorious cheesy, formulaic good humor and tropes but the plot of this one was meandering and I just felt nothing between the two main characters. This one just wasn’t for me.

Once Upon a Royal Summer is a light contemporary romance between Lacey, a woman working at a Park as a Princess and Henry, an actual Prince. I listened to the audiobook and I have to say it was an easy read, it wasn't difficult to listen to it as I was doing chores at the same time. It was entertaining and a light story. However, it's not a story that will last in my memory.

(Thank you for letting me listen and review an ARC via Netgalley)

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If there's one thing I love in this world, it's a good royal romance. And this one delivers.

Lacey is a princess...at a theme park. And she loves her job. Just not the skeptical dad she happened upon one day at her castle. Only Henry is no ordinary dad, but the crown prince of a European country who wanted to give his daughter a birthday to remember.

This is a fascinating romance that I loved and I know others who enjoy royal romances will love.

This book is appropriate for all ages.

Lacy's job is to dress up as Princess Sweet Pea at an amusement park called Once Upon A Time. One Day Lacy meets a Prince and Princess from a different country, unknown to her. At the end of a Royal Waltz attractions are developed. Lacy is tasked at work to show Prince Henry and Princess Rose around for the 4 days they will be visiting the theme park. I loved this book. The characters were so loveable, Lacey is relatable. I was hooked from the beginning, it's a fun, easy and fast read. This book made me laugh, made me feel sad at parts and made me root for the couple. This is the romance I look for, clean romance. Teri Wilson is new to me, I will definitely be looking at her other books. I highly recommend this book.

This audiobook was a treat. Lacey has her dream job of a theme park princess and the real Prince Henry wants to give his daughter a normal vacation before she must take on more royal duties A genuine fairy tale ensues. This was sweet and funny. I enjoyed the narrator as she successfully and seamlessly navigates between British/American accents, male/female/juvenile characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who just wants a sweet story with a happy ending.

What a perfect summer beach listen! I loved the heart, humor and just all-around feel good nature of Once Upon a Royal Summer, and I'm looking forward to more from Teri Wilson in the future!

Lacey works as a princess at an amusement park, and the last thing she expects is to meet a real-life price! But she does. Henry is just a sweet, swoony, wonderful man and single father to the most adorable little real-life princess, Rose. From the moment they meet, there is such a connection not only between Henry and Lacey, but between Lacey and Rose as well.

I loved experiencing their relationship, their falling in love, their connection. And the narration by Brittany Pressley was a wonderful complement to the text. She really captured the spirit of the characters and the joy and emotion of story.

The narrator was so good .

The book itself , was romance but for like a middle schooler. It was so innocently immature.

The first part of the book was good, I was interested. But once they got to bellamores , things go so cookie cutter and dumb. Freaking about over a chocolate stain ? Really ? And then how quickly
These people fell in love !? I guess I expected it to be a clean romance, but not a childish one. I’d read this book to my nieces in elementary….

Once Upon a Royal Summer is a modern-day fairytale. It was such lighthearted fun which was exactly what I needed as a brand new mom. The second I read the synopsis, I knew I would love it. I love Hallmark movies and this book definitely fits their brand!

Lacey has found her dream job working as Princess Sweetpea at a popular fairytale theme park in Florida called Once Upon a Time. Henry is basically a real-life Prince Charming who brings his daughter Rose to America to celebrate her birthday. All he wants is for her to experience what it's like to be a regular little girl, even if it's only for a few days.
Can a chance encounter between a make-believe princess and a real-life prince lead to Happily Ever After? You'll have to read to find out!

This is a great summer read with a lovable cast of characters that takes place in a magical theme park AND features an incredibly sweet romance. What's not to like?
Not only did I love the main characters but the secondary characters as well. Most of all, I enjoyed the way the romance between Lacey and Henry develops and the bond Lacey forms with Rose.
I listened to the audiobook and the narration was fantastic.
Highly recommend if you enjoy Hallmark books/movies or if you're in the mood for a sweet, feel-good romance.

For a girl who loves Disney and has always dreamt of being a princess, Once Upon a Royal Summer was such a fun read.

Lacey plays Princess Sweet Pea at a popular fairytale theme park in southern Florida. When she meets a real Prince Henry of Bella-Mortiz pretending to be average American tourist with his daughter at the park.

I can’t decide which was sweeter, Lacey spending time with Henry and Rose at the theme park as their VIP guide, or Lacey in Bella-Mortiz for the Flower Festival.

Lacey is freaking adorable. I listened to Once Upon a Royal Summer on audiobook and listened to the whole thing in one sitting. It was such a great summer feel good read.
