A Brush with Love by Mazey Eddings is a rom-com with plenty of dental puns, academic stress, and meet-cute energy, but for me, it didn’t quite hit the emotional sweet spot. Harper, our fiercely ambitious dental student, should have been my kindred soul—I’m also a driven, hard-working female—but instead, she felt more exhausting than inspiring. I get that she has anxiety issues, but she didn't quite work for me.
The romance has charm and some genuinely funny moments, yet I found myself rooting more for the plot to floss out its tangles than for the central love story.
Rating: 3 stars — cute, but not quite my bite.

This book brings humor and tenderness to the story. It is a romantic comedy that does not shy away from mental health struggles. Harper is portrayed as someone who has anxiety and the author did a good job in displaying her struggles, care and love. It is a slow romance but it is a very nice story. It shows how we become vulnerable by the events that have happened to us. This can cause us to close away from the people who are trying to help and love. It is an uplifting story and romantic. It is a story that is about vulnerability, ambition and a love that accepts you as you are.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/ St. Martin’s Griffin for allowing me to read advance copy of the story for my honest review.

I’m really surprised at myself, but I was not a huge fan of A Brush With Love. I love everything else I’ve read from Mazey Eddings, but could not get into this one.

Fun but meaningful debut romance from a new voice. Rooting for this couple so much. Beautiful heartwarming and meaningful

Mazy Eddings is a new to me author and I wholeheartedly say I will be reading all of her books.
A brush with love is the first in the series. This revolves around Dan and Harper who are at Dentistry school ( not my fave occupation irl lol) when they literally crash into each other.
I found this story to be all the feels from cute to sad, heartwarming to heartbreaking all at the same time. The protagonist and the love interest are sweet, and believable as a couple.
I gave this book a solid 4 stars.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to review this book.

Sweet. Lighthearted. Cheesy. The romance was cute. This book consisted of realistic representation which is important. While this book was not the best book I’ve ever read, it was a sweet romcom to add to the genre and it hit the spot.

This was enjoyable enough but not my favorite. I liked the characters, but I didn't love them. I didn't feel super invested. I did like Mazey's writing style, though, and I would read more from her.

This fun romcom follows two dental students, Harper and Dan, as they fall in love while dealing with the pressure of family and career. Harper, the main character, has anxiety, and wow did I feel seen. Her inner monologues, desires for perfection, and built up walls were really something I connected with. Big shout out to Mazey Eddings for writing characters living with mental health

Not my favorite, my I enjoyed it. I don't know that i've read a book about dentists before, but I also don't know that i needed to?

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This was the book that made me fall in love with Mazey Eddings after not really enjoying "Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake." I never thought I could enjoy a romance featuring dentists so much!

I like that the author tried to do something different, but I could not get into this story. It felt very juvenile, and I wanted the main character to get some better treatment for her issues, rather than an awkward romance. I rarely DNF a book but reader, I DNF'd this one.
Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a temporary digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

Oh My God one of the steamiest contemporaries I have ever read. Must pick.
What I like: the denstist jokes. I never thought that profession could be humorous or sexy. still don't but the books kinda sets it up nice and I buy it.

I went into this book a little skeptical, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with Harper, Dan, and the entire cast of characters. This book was written by an author who truly does know the neurodivergent experience, and the way Harper was never portrayed as weak for having anxiety made me cry! I can't wait to read it again.

Boy I didn’t know this book was going to get graphic so everyone is in for a treat! Although Harpers character was kind of hard to like for almost the entire book, I really loved Dan’s character he truly made the book the romance love story I was looking for. Really enjoyed reading this book!
Thanks to netgalley for the early read.

I planned on rating this three stars, but the last 25% of the book had me HOOKED to the point I stayed up until 1am when I had to catch a 6am flight. I read The Plus One first, now I’m going back to read the rest.
Harper and Dan are super cute by all means! Not a huge fan of insta-love tropes, but the morph into a best friend really set it apart. It felt repetitive at times, but Harper’s anxiety felt a little too relatable. I love how much the author champions therapy in her books and de-stigmatizing mental health issues!

Such a cute story! If you like a golden retriever boy and women in STEM, definitely pick this up :)
Unfortunately, I didn’t feel this book was for me and have discovered that fluffy romance may not be my thing, but I do feel that if you like that sort of thing, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this book :)

This was such a sweet friends to lovers story. Dan and Harper are serious endgame goals. I enjoyed seeing what they each had to go through to eventually come together. This was a great romance and I would definitely recommend it!

cute cute cute cute
Thanks to NetGalley / Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for a review.

I did not love this one but considering I could read it despite my extreme dental anxiety is probably a bonus point to the author. I didn't feel like the romance made a lot of sense and the struggles the characters faced just didn't feel enough to capture my interest.
