I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The author of this book rambles a bit in some places, but overall I really enjoyed the book.

First off, I wish that my Spanish was better so that I could write it in the original language that the book was written. Also, the book is beautifully translated from Spanish to English.

I received a complimentary Kindle book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to Armando Lucas Correa, HarperOne, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

I must confess that I follow Armando on Instagram and already knew part of his story. Additionally, I have read his two fiction books and absolutely loved them!

This book was a bit different as it is a love letter to his daughters Emma and Anna, son Lucas, and partner Gonzalvo. It is a lovely story and brought me to tears in the Preface. The questions and ignorant things that people do to same-sex parents and their children are horrific.

On a personal note, my daughter attended Kindergarten to 8th grade with a same-sex couple and their son. I will never forget the idiocy of some of the parents that said that they now "had to talk about sex to their children" - seriously?!? It was super easy to explain, "Did you know that X has two moms?" and the response, "No! Lucky!". So my heart goes out to Armando and Gonzalvo for these idiots!

I love that Armando really laid it on the line in a couple of parts of the books where he REALLY wrote what he felt. He never was able to do that with his novels. I know that I would enjoy him personally and would love to have a drink someday. One can wish.

The last thing about this book is that my daughter is bi-racial with an older mother and father. Regardless of your circumstances, we are all people just trying to do the right things to create our families. It all doesn't matter in the end because it is all about LOVE! That is what this book leaves you with at the end!!

RECOMMEND!

Armando has it all. That is besides the one thing he really wants. One mans journey to seek help with trying to have a baby.
