I have read a lot of fantasy books, but this had a new angle and take on the fantasy world that I haven't come across before. The story flowed really well and we were able to get the story from a range of different perspectives, rather than just focusing on 1 character.
I did find the beginning a bit difficult to start, there was a lot of world building and I found myself having to go back and re-read parts to help understand where/what was happening.

I received a free copy of this for my honest review. So my actual rating would probably be 3.5 stars out of 5.

The good/great: This story was very interesting. It has a uniqueness about it that I haven't seen done much in fantasy/paranormal. It was for the most part easy to picture, the writing flowed well.. I really loved the character building and relationships the characters had with each other.

The not so good: The beginning of the story I think needed a little more work; it was really hard to get into. Pacing was a tad off in parts but was intriguing enough to keep going even when slow. There were parts that would completely throw me off and it would take me a bit to get back in. Such as, some characters physical features are described differently from chapter to chapter or dates not seeming to make sense.

Personal preference: I loved the world and how it seems to work. I did not like the ending; resurrection trope is not my favorite.
