I enjoyed all three in the series. Found it both interesting and gripping. Great writing style that kept me absorbed in the story.

This was the last of the series and having read the first two I can honestly say as a series it was great. You could read this as a stand alone, but much better if reading all three. This story and history (albeit fictional) of the beginnings of a new nation was indeed a wonderful novel, in fact one of my favorites. Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A stunning romantic epic from a master storyteller, Celeste de Blasis’ America’s Promise is a heart-wrenching, emotional and dramatic rollercoaster ride readers will not forget in a hurry.

It’s 1780 and the dream of American Independence is finally within reach. Addie knows that she should be celebrating yet her heart is wracked with grief and despair. With her husband gone, Addie must leave the army camp and the people who have come to mean the world to her behind in order to find a respectable path which will enable her to guard the powerful secret that she must carry alone.

As she moves back in with her aunts in Virginia, Addie tries to transform herself into the model of respectability and to try and forget the dark-eyed warrior who had turned her life upside down. Addie thinks that her old life is behind her once and for all until a band of rogue British soldiers comes to the farm and she finds herself once again with nobody she can rely on but herself. Needing all the strength, courage and resilience which she never thought she would need ever again, Addie finds herself embroiled in another high stakes battle where she stands to lose absolutely everything.

With everything to play for, the stakes have never been higher for Addie, but as she finds herself fighting for her future yet again, will she stay silent and keep her family safe or will she reveal the secret she has kept very close to her chest in order to save an innocent man from certain death?

Nobody does sweeping historical epics quite like Celeste de Blasis. Set against a brilliantly recreated setting and packed with adventure, danger, passion and intrigue, America’s Promise will take readers’ breaths away and immerse them in a beautifully drawn world they will not want to leave.

Addie is a fantastic heroine readers will admire, root for and be completely mesmerized by. Her strength, courage and ability to do whatever it takes for the ones she loves are simply inspirational.

Readers who cannot get enough of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series need to add Celeste de Blasis’ name to their auto-buy list.

After reading the first two books in this wonderful series I simply couldn’t wait to find out how the series would conclude, and it was certainly worth the wait!.

In the aftermath of the war in 1780, despite American Independence being well within reach, Addie is struggling to enjoy this development after the devastating loss of her husband who lost his life on the front line. Following this awful loss, Addie must now leave the Army camp and all of those that she has come to know and love throughout these awful times.

When she arrives in Virginia and seeks refuge with her Aunts she has to try and fathom out how she can return to the life she lived before the war as a dutiful woman, and try to remember who she was before meeting the man who captured her heart and changed her life forever.

This new found life of hers is put under threat when rogue British soldiers turn up at the farm, and Addie has to muster up all of her strength from her time within the Army camp in order to try and keep those she loves safe. When Addie then receives some more devastating news from the front line she is left having to make an impossible decision as to whether she keeps the secret she has carried with her since her departure from the camp and protects her family, and whether she is willing to let an innocent man lose his life in the process.

If, like me, you have read books by Celeste De Blasis before then you know you are in for an emotional, all consuming story that you lose yourself in right away, and America’s Promise is no different, in fact – I might even say it is my favourite to date. The storyline is wonderfully structured and has so much depth and detail added to both the characters and the situations they find themselves in, that it is easy to find yourself feeling fully immersed in the world that is brought to life on the pages of this book.

This final instalment to this series certainly takes you through a range of emotions, from heart ache, to truly heart warming moments that are shared between some of the central characters we have come to know and love deeply. This was undoubtedly the perfect ending to what has been a breath-taking series.

America's Promise concludes a previously unpublished trilogy from the late author Celeste De Blasis set during the American Revolutionary War. In this instalment, the focus is on the latter years of the war, from 1780 to its end in 1783.

To safeguard her secret and protect the reputation of her family, Addie Bradwell decides to leave the camp of the Continental Army and seek refuge with her aunts at the Castleton plantation in Virginia. She leaves behind her twin brother Ad, who has served as one of Washington's aides since the start of the war, and his fiancée, Matilda. Justin, another surviving brother, and their cousins are still serving with Henry Lee's cavalry troop.

News of the war is brought to the plantation through correspondence and the all too brief visits from family and friends. Addie still fears for the safety of her step-brother Darius, serving in the British Army, and for the Scotsman, John Traverne, and his Highlanders.

When Cornwallis surrenders at Yorktown in October 1781, Addie is in the crowd to witness the proceedings and watch the British march out. And to say a silent farewell to a man she believes she will never see again.

As the war winds down, Addie and her brothers look to a future in peacetime. They are greatly surprised and touched by Darius' generosity and sense of fair treatment that will help them rebuild their lives.

There is not much I can say about this novel that I haven't said about the previous two in the series. It is such an emotional story due to the way Celeste De Blasis writes her characters. You cannot help but be drawn into their lives, to share the sadness and heartache of loss, and the joys of family life, which continues no matter what.

I now know much more about the American Revolutionary War than I did before and have a greater understanding of the actions and natures of the historical characters portrayed. From how George Washington was depicted, it was easy to see how highly he was esteemed by those who served under him. This makes the final page of the book very poignant and a great place to end the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy and have no trouble in recommending it to other readers. For those interested in the American Revolutionary War or those who love novels with strong female characters, this trilogy will prove satisfying on both counts.

A great third book in this wonderful trilogy, America’s Promise continued to give us an wonderful insight into American history. While we do see the continued outcome of the war, in the this the war has ended and the country is attempting to rebuild itself.

Addie too must face the outcome of war – having loved and lost and now holding a secret that she must guard and protect – wondering if she’ll ever see her love again.

The author’s beautiful style makes this book too an absolutely riveting read.

What came through to me from this fantastic trilogy is the fact that while the men put their lives on the line, it’s the women who must carry the burden at home and then live with often terrible loss of fathers, brothers and husbands, making choices they never thought they’d have to make. The strength and deep inner resources of these women make this trilogy a most inspiring one.

"America's Promise" is an absolutely perfect ending to the "America's Daughter Trilogy". I've thoroughly enjoyed the emotional ups and downs that this series has taken me through, and I'm a little bit sad that the journey is over. If you have even the slightest interest in historical fiction then you should pick up this series. If you want to feel like you've lived through the events described, stood beside the characters, laughed and cried with them, then you must not miss any of Celeste De Blasis's work.

My thanks to the author (RIP), publisher, and NetGalley. This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own, unbiased, opinion.

America’s Promise is the third and final installment to the America’s Daughter Trilogy. After absolutely loving the first two books of this trilogy, I couldn’t wait to dive into this story. I was so excited to see what would happen next and to read how the story would conclude. Addie and her twin brother are back and the soldiers fighting in the war are celebrating their victory. It’s time for Addie to leave the Army Camp, of which she called home for so long. She moves to Virginia to seek solace and lives with her aunt, after the devastating loss of her husband in the frontlines. With the Revolutionary War coming to an end, it is time for her to move on and make the most of her life. It is difficult for her to leave behind all the friendships she has established with the men fighting in the war and those around her. The soldiers return to their homeland, yet some stayed behind and continued to be loyal to America. I really enjoyed the personalization of George and Martha Washington, it made the story very enthralling and absorbing. I also enjoyed the storyline of the soldiers and the families, it brought to life the reality of what was happening during the war and the aftermath of the war, as it came to an end.

Thank you Celeste de Blasis for such a fantastic series. The historical details in wonderful series were so captivating. This series had all the feels of love, family, friendship, and family secrets. I absolutely loved this series and I highly recommend it. It was fantastic in its entirety.

I’ve really enjoyed the other books in the trilogy so couldn’t wait to see how the series ended. Like the other books in the trilogy, this packs an emotional punch from the start. Addie has really grown as a character and her pain due to the loss she has endured really comes off the page. This is a bit darker than the other books, seeped in loss and sadness but with some hope shining through. Addie is fantastic, well-rounded character and I was on her side from the get-go. This is a great ending to a roller-coaster of a trilogy. I’d highly recommend it.

This is the third book in the America's Daughter trilogy. An end to the war may be in sight, and Addie travels to Virginia to stay with her aunts and share her secret. The history of the Revolutionary War, its aftermath, and the life of George Washington is well documented and woven into the story by Celeste De Blasis. The story of Addie and her brothers is thrilling and engaging. The history of the war is sometimes related through Addie's twin, Ad, who is working directly with George Washington. This gives us a fascinating window inside the life of George and Martha Washington and their inner circle. My only slight criticism is that Addie's family and others are very accepting of her secret, which is not quite realistic for the time period.

Overall, this story will transport you back to the American Revolutionary War, and the characters will keep you captivated and intrigued. This book is highly recommend for fans of historical wartime fiction. I received a free copy of this book via Bookouture. My opinions are my own.

The third in a series and be warned as my discussion below of this book will have spoilers that will spoil book one and two. This is a series where you absolutely need to start with book one as each book builds on the previous one.

In this third installment, Addie is heading to Virginia to spend time with her family as she must disguise a pregnancy that could cause some controversy if the details got out. She spends the conclusion of the war at the family home getting updates while the rest of her family continues the pursuit of freedom.

I enjoyed this book more than the second one as it focused on Addie's point of view and how the war was coming to an end. With fewer scenes on the front lines, I enjoyed the human aspect that this story took as this focused more on the people impacted by the conflict. As much as I was up and down about this series, I wouldn't mind more in this series, so we could follow Addie and her family as the country builds and decides how they want to operate after the British have left.

I still think that book one was my favorite as the main characters were dividing and figuring out their roles they would play, I can say that this book is my second favorite and I would read more books by this author, especially if she put her focus on the women in history that made impacts.

In this the third and final installment of Celeste De Blassis series, America's Daughter, we once again witness the tragedy of war. However, this war does come to an end and it's time for this fledgling nation to sprout its wings and try to fly.

Addie and he twin brother are back, and as the soldiers celebrate their shocking victory over the most powerful nation, at that time, we watch as each character tries to regain a life. There of course are many tragedies, many families split part by their allegiances, and of course many who are grateful that their loved ones are returning home. Many of the Loyalists are returning to England, while some to the Caribbean and to Canada. Abbie and Ad's half-brother, Darius, is leaving America and wondering where he will fit in. Many of those who stay realize that they will never see people they cared for again.

Meanwhile Addie pregnant by a dark-haired Scottish soldier, Ian, returns home to her aunts' home in Virginia. She loves her soldier, but fears because not only is he a soldier of the enemy but also, she is now a fallen woman. She is happily welcomed into her aunts' home and gives birth to a daughter. Will she ever see Ian again, will he ever meet his daughter she wonders?

As the time after the war, continues, there is much agitation from the soldiers. They haven't been paid, their clothes are ragged, and they are starving. These are intrepid men and women who gave so much for the freedom they so desired.

George Washington is exhausted. He and his wife, Martha, want nothing more than to return to their home in Mt Vernon, but the staunch and brave Washington will not desert the people who served him so well. So much was asked of this man, and the winning of the war and the country's future seemed to rest on his most capable shoulders. He was admired and loved by the people and Ms De Blassis gives Washington his just deserts in the book.

The book was both interesting and made one appreciate so the sacrifices made by so many so we all could be free. As we celebrate our nation's birthday, it is most imperative that we never forget the lives lost, the people who were maimed, and the utter sacrifices so many made so that we could be free.

Thank you to Bookouture, and Net Galley for a copy of not only this story, but also the two that preceded it due out July 8, 2021.

The third.book continues this amazing trilogy of American history that is brimming with romance, intrigue, drama, and family. The research behind this series is excellent. I felt as if I was there in colonial times fighting against the British for the formation of our country. You can see the strong passion that people felt on both sides of the conflict and how it divided friends and family. I read this book while vacationing in DC, and it was so perfect. This is a wonderful series that I highly recommend for all historical fiction/romance lovers and I am sad to see this saga end. I look forward to reading many more.books by this author!!!

Although the story seemed like it would be interesting, I felt as though I was constantly running behind a train fast leaving a station trying desperately to catch up, with no hope of doing so, due to their being too much that had happened in previous books that you were expected to know about, thus you do need to read them in order. Sadly I didn't have the first 2 books so couldn't comment on the series, but it seemed as though it would've been good if read in order

The cover is fantastic. It captures the emotion of the novel very well. A woman waiting for the war to be over. Set in the waning days of the Revolutionary War, America’s Promise is the last book in a trilogy. I have not responded the first two books so I was a little lost. It can be read as a stand alone, but I’d recommend reading the books in Order. It’s good historical fiction about a time period I adore. It shows the emotion of war torn America and the aftermath.

The heartbreaking conclusion to the epic, emotional trilogy and book 3 in America’s Daughter Trilogy. I love Celeste De Blasis writing skills and this novel was no exception!

Addicted to this trilogy … As soon as I started to read, I just knew that I wouldn’t be able to put the book down… One hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Recommend books 1-3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
