Thank you to Boldwood Books and Net Galley for the chance to read and review this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
I really like this series! It is like one long book-when you start a new story it just continues where the previous book left off. It is so interesting to see what happens to these characters and how their lives develop over time. In this story, the reader sees how the war affects the characters. Sally is having trouble getting quality products for Harpers, as well as some personal and health problems. Maggie also has some major health problems with a new romance thrown in. There's also a couple of new characters thrown in to make the story interesting. I plan to keep reading this series as long as author Rosie Clarke writes them-I'm a big fan!!!

With grateful thanks to netgalley and Rosie clarke for an arc in return for an honest opinion.
Having read the first 4 books in the Harper girls series I was delighted to catch up with this lively lot of outstandingly courageous ladies and what there doing for there country while the men are fighting away from home, I want to give nothing away as this book brought a lot to the table tying up loose ends in quite a few areas can't wait for the next catch up once again this really is an outstandingly fabulous series and can't praise it enough and highly recommend.

Wartime Blues for the Harper Girls by Rosie Clarke is a well written and gripping tale of the girls who work in Harpers store as they struggle through lifes ups and downs while their men are at war, with all their worries, fears and in some cases joy.

There were a lot of characters to get your head around, but they were all engaging and well developed making it easier to relate too.

Overall this was a great book with lots of individual stories, whilst still being just one main story.

Highly recommended book

Wartime Blues for the Harpers Girls by Rosie Clarke is an excellent WWI-era historical fiction saga that I truly enjoyed.

This is the 5th book in the amazing Harpers Emporium series. I just love Ms. Clarke. This series along with her equally impressive Mulberry Lane books, are always a go to for me.

This book throws the reader right into the thick of it in WWI as this takes place around London, 1917. There are many trials, obstacles, losses, and harrowing moments for these women to overcome. Of course there are bright moments as well, but reality was darker for most of the citizens within England during this time.

I highly recommend reading the other books first so as to have an idea of what the characters have gone through to get to this point. I love how the author is able to continue onward the stories of so many of the original Harpers Girls as well as integrating fresh, new women into the narrative as well.

I won’t dive into the plot as I do not want to toss out any spoilers, but I have to say I do love the strength and bravery that these women possess as well as the bonds they have formed through their friendships. The twists and turns kept me on edge for sure!

I have to say my favorite two characters are Rachel and Sally. I look forward to the next book in this stunning series.

5/5 stars
