Okay woah I’m so sorry because I wanted to love this book but I didn’t even finish it. The pacing was off and the whole thing felt so rushed. Where was the romance? I’m a smut lover but also a romance reader… there needs to be a connection that goes deeper than just lust for one another. I don’t know if this book gives us that. I just couldn’t keep going!

After chapter 4 this book turned quick and lost my attention. I had to DNF. My apologies. Thank you for sending me an e arc

What The Cat Dragged in is a light-hearted story. The Rom-.com revolved around Paige and Josh.,A typical meet-cute. My issue was how they rushed straight into bed.
I also didn't like that Paige wanted to hide her and Joshs relationship .com Joshs sister,Paiges best friend and co-worker and the way the sister reacted.
I especially liked the banter between Paige friends and co-workers in the cat cafe. I also loved how Josh made time to be with Paige because of his busy job. The ending was enjoyable despite Paiges back and forth on them being together.

Thank you Sourcebooks and Netgalley for the Advanced Reader Copy of this book this is a honest review.

Content: sex

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The writing in this book isn't bad. By the fourth chapter, though, you find yourself at a one night stand. Not my thing, so I'm going to pass on the rest of the book.

Cat cafes are the new, fun thing, aren't they. This romance was a lot of fun to read. Josh and Paige have some steamy chemistry. This was a new-to-me author that I wouldn't hesitate to read again.

Let’s start off with the title of the book and the fact that it has cats in the name. Im not a crazy cat lady but lets just say that anything with cats definitely has my attention right away. What the cat dragged in is the second book of the Whitman Street Cat Cafe duology. I haven’t had a chance to read the first book of this series but this one was enjoyable to so I want to assume that I will also like the first part. I haven’t read too many tropes that deal with best friend falling for the brother but i’m all for it. This book also falls in the com-category which i’ve been reading nonstop these past couple of moths so I was very happy when netgally provided me with the Arc for this book. Theres just something about two people that think they shouldn’t fall for each other that intrigues me. The fact that most of the story took place at the cat cafe was a plus for me, it was also fast-paced so it was a very quick read for me. Paige was likable enough that I kept reading the story, I think that she was a nice person but that she also cared a little too much about what her friend would say. But I can see why she would be careful with that situation since it could have gone horribly wrong and ruined her friendship. But overall I think she was a good character and she was written well so that it made sense to the story. Josh on the other hand was probably more up my alley on how I prefer my characters to be. He went from overworking to finally being able to find a balance between his work and personal life and showing Paige that they would make it work. I think that their romance was believable since they also acted like friends so it wasn’t hard to start rooting for them. Currently out so if you would like to find out more definitely check it out.

i felt like the concept of this book seemed very cute, which peaked my interest. however, i didn't really vibe with it, unfortunately. it felt like the pacing was a bit off and some sections, especially some conversations, felt very repetitive. i also didn't really connect to the characters (but that might be due to me having pretty much nothing in common with any of them). i really liked the cats, though

What the Cat Dragged is the second book in a series about a cat café in New York. Paige Danvers works as am events coordinator at the café and has been unlucky in love. Josh Harlow is an attorney and is the brother of the cafe's owner. The have a chance meeting and have instant interest in one another. Both characters are likeable enough, Josh more so in my opinion. Problems arise as the two get closer due to the fact that both are concerned with how Lauren, Paige's friend and Josh's sister, will react to their budding relationship.

This plot point is what seems to drive the conflict in the book, but it is also one of my biggest problems with the book. It seemed like a silly reason for one of the characters less than stellar decisions. It also seemed like at one point, this conflict wasn't moving the story forward or causing the characters to evolve. It felt as if I was reading the same back and forth argument for a good third of the book. Initially, I enjoyed the book much more than it's predecessor Like Cats and Dogs, however, it became frustrating in the last half to third of the book. I would recommend this book to fans of the first, but beyond that, I would say this book could easily be passed over.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was spicier than I anticipated and I loved every part of it! I was expecting cute and surface level but I really enjoyed it. I liked the cat aspect as I’ve found most people incorporate dogs so I highly recommend

This book caught my eye because I love a good cat cafe story. Once I was approved to read this ARC I realized it was the second book in the series so I quickly read the first book before starting on this one. On the one hand, it was completely unnecessary, What the Cat Dragged In would have made perfect sense but on the other hand, I loved BOTH books so for me it was a win-win.

What the Cat Dragged in focuses on Paige, Event Manager at the Whitman Cat Cafe. One night during a Trap/Neuter/Return mission Paige meets Josh. Josh is just starting as a lawyer at a very busy lawfirm but was given the night off to do some community service. His sister sets him up with a team to capture feral cats. When Paige and Josh meet the connection is undeniable. When Paige ends up at Josh's house she sees a picture of her boss and finds out she is Josh's sister. Paige is so worried that it is going to get messy but they are both in too deep at this point to just walk away. It doesn't help that Lauren doesn't love the idea when she finally does find out.

There is something about this book that I just absolutely loved. It is light but also addicting in the best ways possible. I really hope there are more books to come in this series and I cannot wait to read them!

What a wonderfully sweet yet funny story.
This had the perfect mix of suspense, spice and sweetness for any romance reader.
I am not only a cat owner but a big fan of them so the cat cafe was just the icing on the cake.

The writing was a little choppy for the first couple of chapters but afterwards the author really seemed to be able to bring back the flow. That’s the only reason it’s getting 4 stars.

A beautiful HEA conclusion that the characters well deserve.
I’ll be looking out for more from this author.

In What the Cat Dragged In we meet Paige Danvers. Paige is a working at the Whitman Street Cat Café where she manages the events. One night while volunteering at an animal shelter she meets Josh. They hit it off and spend the night together. The morning after she discovers that Josh is in fact Lauren's brother. Lauren as in her best friend Lauren en also her boss Lauren. Will Paige try to make it work or will she walk away and minimize the risk of juggling love and friendship?

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy What the Cat Dragged In as much as I thought I would. The premise is cute but the story is very predictable. I also couldn't really connect with the main characters because I found that they lacked depth and their backstory wasn't really revealed. Even so it's a fast-paced read. So if you enjoy a quick romance story, then you can definitely check this one out.

I wasn't able to get into this book. The basic premise is good material for a romcom, but it felt forced, like each element was taken a bit too far, the cats, that cat cafe, the issue (or lack thereof) about dating her friend's brother.

[ARC REVIEW]

Cute Rom-com! Paige and Josh had great chemistry and were a joy to read about. Love a good happily ever after! This was a sweet, and funny light read, loved it!

This book was a quick and cute read. It can definitely be read as a standalone. Unfortunately it read more like a YA novel than an adult and it was pretty forgotable.

I'll admit I'm really not a romance reader, but I've read a couple and felt I could be swayed so when I saw cats I was convinced. Unfortunately, I didn't realise this was a sequel, and while likely not a direct sequel as I believe the first book follows the sister, I probably would have connected to the characters and story more if I had. I just didn't really care and was bored, really.

I can't resist to a book featuring cats and this is a book that features a lot of cats.
It's an enjoyable and entertaining rom-com featuring two interesting characters and their path to happiness.
I enjoyed the cats, rooted for the characters, and had a lot of fun.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

When I first read the except for this book I thought it would be something I would like, something I would enjoy so I decided to give it a shot.

Now, don’t get me wrong the story is good, the storyline is good but it just didn’t do it for me. I found myself bored and not really connecting to the book which ended with me skimming chapters to get to the end.

The characters were all special in their own way and I absolutely adored that the story was surrounded by a kitty cafe, I love those places.

It’s a cute story but just not one that could keep my attention.
