Thanks to the publisher for providing an eARC of The Underwater Bridge in exchange for an honest review.
I understand that The Underwater Bridge is trying to capture the nostalgia of old middle grade fantasy, but I think that's something that can easily be done while also not highlighting the bigotry of the era. When people talk about being nostalgic for the era it's (hopefully) not referencing nostalgia for people being overtly racist so I don't really understand why a lot of the choses made here were made.
