Christmas romances are the best & you get 3 in 1 in this book. Who could ask for anything more?! I enjoyed all of the stories in this & highly suggest reading it to get into the mood for the holidays. I feel like decorating like the 1800s now because it sounds like it smells terrific.

Thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for advanced copy in exchange for my honest review

My first holiday book for this year and boy was it good. 3 regency stories from 3 delightful authors. The stories are set in a time that has always captured my interest.
First was a new addition to the MacTaggert family series. I was pleased to read this one. I am a fan of that series. It was nice to catch up with the family. I never get enough of this family and the people that surround them.
Amelia Grey had a love at first sight story. I thought the inn sounded like a wonderful place to visit. The characters were interesting and the ending was heart warming. Now if only that inn was for sale!
The last story was a enemy to lover story. I am not much of a fan for that type of story. I rarely thing the couple should connect. They sure made themselves miserable. But the setting is nice and there are side stories that add interest. By the end of the story I was engrossed.
Three good stories to read this holiday season. I was entertained!

Snowy, bantary goodness! This was such a fun collection of regency candy, I read it in the dead of summer, but it might be best enjoyed on a snowy afternoon. All three stories put a smile on my face! Recommend!

While I love Historical Romance year-round there is something special about the holiday stories with all the lovely (and often, odd) traditions of the past to discover… as well as some extremely charming fun romances like those found in Kissing Under the Mistletoe.

Each novella in this anthology is full of romance, Christmas Spirit, and unique situations for each couple. We even have a touch of a previous series when one special character finally stars in their own story. I don’t even have a favorite among these stories for each one gave me a couple to cheer for, an interesting situation, and a story full of the holidays – it’s hard to pick just one, so I didn’t even try.

If you love a Christmas Romance any time of the year but especially starting now then you’ll want to pick up Kissing Under the Mistletoe right now. It’s a fun gathering of three stories that are sure to capture your heart this holiday season.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

GREAT SCOT by Suzanne Enoch - 4 stars

In CHRISTMAS AT DEWBERRY HOLLOW by Amelia Grey - 5 stars

In MY MISTLETOE BEAU by Anna Bennett - 4 stars

I really enjoyed all three of these stories! Suzanne's story is tied to her Wild Wicked Highlander series and it was fun to revisit some of my favorite characters from it.

Great Scot by Suzanne Enoch Book Review:

Jane Bansil is three and thirty and too old to dream of a fairy tale. Feeling a little like a charity case, though everyone has been kind to her, Jane is feeling adrift. Then she meets Brennan Andrews, a widower cousin of the MacTaggerts and the Architect hired by them, and sparks fly. A sweet, soulful romance between two people hurt in life, I loved this heartfelt romance so much. Meeting the MacTaggerts clan has me intrigued to go read their stories and absolutely adored Jane and Brennan. They are so perfect together!

I loved the scenes where Brennan wooed her and never have architectural drawings been a tool for professing your love for someone!

A romantic story that flowed like a gently flowing river, I knew where the story was headed and yet I stayed glued to the book until the end. I was left feeling happy, content and with a festive glow, I give Great Scot by Suzanne Enoch 4.5 out of 5 stars. And Njkinny recommends this splendid and feel-good historical romance to everyone.

CHRISTMAS AT DEWBERRY HOLLOW by Amelia Grey Book Review:

Isabelle Reed has resigned to spinsterhood. She helps her mother run an Inn. But her life changes when she accidentally shoots and injures a guard for a Duke. Gate, the grandson of the Duke is smitten by Isabelle but can he convince her to give love a try?

I loved Gate and while Isabelle’s character had promise I didn’t quite connect with her. There is angst, love, witty exchanges, and the Christmas cheer to add more appeal to this historical romance. This book had all the ingredients for a stellar romance but still I didn’t quite love it as much as I wanted. So, I give Christmas at Dewberry Hollow 3 out of 5 stars and Njkinny recommends it to all Christmas romance lovers!

My Mistletoe Beau by Anna Bennett Book Review:

My Mistletoe Beau by Anna Bennett is the first book by the author that I have read and I am so glad I found her. The heroine, Miss Eva Tiding is caught red handed by the rakish Jack while she is trying to steal a pocket watch from his home. Then in a turn of events, she finds herself playing his fake fiancee to please his grandmother. A fake engagement, witty banter, spicy interactions, and lots of entertainment. This Christmas romance brings cheer, happiness and enjoyment all round. 4 out of 5 stars to it and Njkinny recommends this sexy historical romance to all romance lovers. I hope to read more Anna Bennett books in the future.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CONCLUSION:

All in all, Kissing Under the Mistletoe anthology is a must read collection of Historical romance novellas. With virile and swoon worthy heroes, strong heroines, and spicy heartfelt romances with Christmas magic, this holiday romance book is perfect to get in Christmas spirit. 4 out of 5 stars to this amazing romance collection and Njkinny recommends this book to all readers looking for love stories with heart and happy endings of the forever kind!

I enjoyed all three of these stories. Gets you in the Christmas mood. I was glad to see Jane get a story. I have read this series and love the characters. So fun. The other two are new to me, but I really liked them and will read more.

Three Christmas novellas that all offered interesting characters and intriguing plots.

Great Scott by Suzanne Enoch: Jane Bansil traveled with the MacTaggerts to Scotland and met their cousin, Brennan. He is an architect designing a new house for Coll and his wife. For the first time Jane might have an option other than being a companion.

The MacTaggerts' stories captivated me, and I loved seeing a bit more into their lives. Jane and Brennan were great together. A lot of times love happens a bit too fast in novellas out of necessity for the length of the story. This one worked for me for many reasons. Brennan and Jane are both older and they have experienced a lot. They know what they want. They are also both quiet and level-headed people and they don't make decisions lightly. So, even though their romance happened very fast, it didn't feel forced.

Christmas at Dewberry Hollow by Amelia Grey: Isabelle loves working at the inn that her mother owns. It's her life and she has no desire to do anything else. She also doesn't want to follow in her mother's footsteps when it comes to falling in love. Until Gate arrived to assist his grandfather, the duke, in finding a heart carved into a tree somewhere in the woods surrounding the inn. What seems like an impossible task, becomes an excuse for Isabelle and Gate to spend time together.

The story managed to address both Gate's and Isabelle's issues with their lives and found a way for them to deal with it. All while they were falling in love. It didn't feel rushed or forced.

My Mistletoe Beau by Anna Bennett: Jack caught Eva red-handed breaking into his home. She was trying to steal back her father's watch. They entered into a fake relationship agreement to satisfy Jack's grandmother.

These two were just so sweet and charming. I loved the crazy nicknames Jack used for Eva. The plot and their romance developed nicely, and I really enjoyed it.

Summary: These three stories kept my interest. I really wanted to see how it all wrapped up.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved reading each of the four stories in the anthology Kissing Under the Mistletoe, written by three wonderful historical authors. The Scottish Highlands, an inn on the outskirts of town, and a Christmas house party set the mood for three heartwarming holiday novellas: Great Scot! by Suzanne Enoch, Christmas at Dewberry Hollow by Amelia Grey, and My Mistletoe Beau by Anna Bennett. Enoch’s story is a breath of fresh air, a story about two quiet people normally overlooked in a romance story and their beautiful relationship. Grey’s hero’s evolution from a rich nobleman with no real purpose in life to a devoted man who is willing to sacrifice all for his beloved is sigh-worthy. But Bennett’s outing steals the show with a couple who goes from near-constant verbal sparring to a deep love bond in a believable and utterly ravishing way.

Suzanne Enoch, Amelia Grey, and Anna Bennett wrote a wonderful trilogy of novellas that will appeal to readers who enjoy historical romances with wonderful characters and a lot of holiday spirit. I highly recommend the stories in Kissing Under the Mistletoe to other readers.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

This is a collection of three novella length Historical-Romance stories by authors I have not read before. I enjoy the shorter format and these stories are just right for a quick trip into the Regency era Christmas scene.

GREAT SCOT by Suzanne Enoch: 4-Stars
Jane Bansil is a poor relation and at 33, she has decided that having a husband and family of her own is just not going to happen. She despises not being useful and living, basically, on charity. Jane is now in Scotland acting as companion to her cousin's mother-in-law. The McTaggerts are a wonderful family and their cousin, Brennan Andrews, is an architect who is designing a new home for one of his cousins. He takes one look at Jane and is ready to take another chance at love. But it may take some convincing for the shy, intelligent, spinster Jane to come around.

CHRISTMAS AT DEWBERRY HOLLOW by Amelia Grey: 4-Stars
Isabelle Reed and her mother own and run the Inn at Dewberry Hollow, a high end retreat a day's ride from London. When a duke and his grandson, Gate, arrive it means profit for the year. Gate is on a quest to aid his dying grandfather and nothing will keep him in Dewberry Hollow after it's completion, except for the beautiful and industrious Isabelle who has stolen his heart.

MY MISTLETOE BEAU by Anna Bennett: 4-Stars
Miss Eva Tiding has just one objective when she breaks into the bachelor apartments of the Earl of Frostbough. She intends to steal the pocket watch her father lost in a game to chance to the dastardly Earl. Being caught was not in her plan. Jack is intrigued by the young miss and since he is in need of a fiancee he quickly makes her a deal she can't refuse. Of course, this farce is only for the Christmas season, or so they thought.

I usually do not review anthologies. It’s not that I don’t like them (I do), but I find it hard to review each story. So, I surprised myself when I downloaded Kissing Under the Mistletoe. I decided to review because, honestly, I figured it was time to step outside my comfort zone (review-wise).

I enjoyed reading Kissing Under the Mistletoe. Each story was well written, with characters that left an impression on me. Plus, they were all Regency romances, which you all know that I love.

Great Scot made me smile. I had read the Wild Wicked Highlanders series, and the MacTaggert boys (and girl) had left me wanting to know what happened to them after the series ended. With this novella, I got that. I was thrilled that Jane could get her HEA with Brennan (even though it was Instalove). But what interested me more was the dynamics between Jane and the rest of the MacTaggert women. Because of Jane’s role in Amelia-Rose and Niall’s romance, I understood why she was hesitant to become close to Lady MacTaggert and the other women. But, as the saying says, it takes a village (this time all the MacTaggert women), and that village drew Jane out of her shell. In return, her blossoming caught Brennan’s eye, and that turned into a delightful romance.

Christmas at Dewberry Inn was another one that made me smile. I will admit, I was not too fond of Isabelle at first. She was rude to Gate right from the beginning. But, she grew on me, and when it was explained why she acted the way she did, I felt terrible for her. Again, this is another Instalove situation, but it was adorable how they fell in love. It was just a feel-good romance from the beginning to the end.

My Mistletoe Beau had me laughing right from the beginning. All Eva wanted to do was get her Papa’s watch from Jack’s possession. See, Jack hates her father and wants to hurt him any way he can. If that means winning his watch (which was given to him by Eva’s mother), then he’ll do it. But Eva isn’t one to play fair. She suggests a wager of her own: She pretends to be his fiancee, and she will get the watch by the end of the charade. Of course, you all know how this goes, and they both fail when they fall for each other. This wasn’t quite an Instalove story, but it was a great enemy-to-lovers romance.

The book itself was a quick read. Each story was only about 8-10 chapters long. Perfect length for an anthology!!

The sex scenes in each story were hot with significant buildup. I will admit that My Mistletoe Beau was exceptional in that department. Eva and Jack’s chemistry and sexual attraction were through the roof. And when they had sex, it was incredible!!

I would recommend Kissing Under the Mistletoe for anyone over the age of 21. There is mild language, mild violence, and sex/sexual situations.

Readers are pretty fortunate this season with so many holiday anthologies releasing ... If the others are up to this standard, it will be a very merry Christmas indeed!

🌟GREAT SCOT by Suzanne Enoch
Romance finally comes for a companion who is in need of a new position. This was. Sweet one that lets readers of the Wild Wicked Highlanders series get a peek into their happily ever afters! I especially loved that these were mature characters - it was so sweet to see them find each other and come to agree on a life for the two of them.

🌟CHRISTMAS AT DEWBERRY HOLLOW by Amelia Grey
A dying mans wish brings two people from different worlds together as they search for a Christmas miracle. This closed door romance took a little longer for me to warm up to, but over all the sweetness of the sentiment and the finding of what you didn’t know you were missing melted my heart!

🌟MY MISTLETOE BEAU by Anna Bennett
A b&e results in a fake courtships or the sake of meddling parents! Who doesn’t love a fake relationship between enemies?!? This one had fun banter and steamy attraction!

Overall, I had a blast spending the holidays with these characters and stories!

Kissing Under the Mistletoe was released September 28th, 2021.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin’s NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Kissing Under the Mistletoe was a wonderful collection of holiday romances from three historical romance authors I've enjoyed in the past.

Overall average rating — 4 Stars

Great Scot by Suzanne Enoch — 3 Stars

Jane Bansil has accepted that at her age she is unlikely to ever fall in love or marry. But when she meets Brennan Andrew, the architect hired by her cousin's in-laws, she is instantly smitten. And when Brennan reveals his feelings for her, Jane realizes she may get the fairy-tale life she dreamed of after all. This story is set after the Wild Wicked Highlanders with the couples from that series featuring heavily. I enjoyed Jane and Brennan's romance and I liked how easily they fit with each other. The only thing I didn't really enjoy about this book was that Jane had a tendency to put herself down or believed everyone was only nice to her out of charity which got frustrating as time went on. But overall I still thought it was a cute romance and would recommend it for readers of the Wild Wicked Highlanders series.

Christmas At Dewberry Hollow by Amelia Grey — 4 Stars

Isabelle Reed is perfectly content to remain unmarried and help her mother run their inn. When John Gatestone, the grandson of a duke, arrives with his grandfather to search for something from his grandfather's youth, Isabelle finds herself drawn to the man. This was a really cute story and I loved the plot of Gate trying to locate the tree his grandfather carved a heart into with his wife when they were younger. Isabelle finds herself drawn into helping Gate as she likes to help the guests and I enjoyed their search for the tree. Their romance has a bit of a slower start as Isabelle has issues in her past with relationships but I liked seeing Gate slowly chip away at her walls. The chemistry between these two was great and overall I really enjoyed their romance.

My Mistletoe Beau by Anna Bennett — 5 Stars

Miss Eva Tiding is determined to retrieve her father's pocket watch even if it means breaking into the home of the Earl who swindled it from him. But when Jack Hardwick catches Eva in the act, she finds herself cutting a deal with the rake. Until Christmas Eve, Eva and Jack will pretend to be courting after which Eva will be given the watch. Fake dating is one of my all time favorite romance tropes and it is fantastically done in this story. The chemistry between Eva and Jack is amazing and the banter in their relationship is very well done. It doesn't take long for both of them to catch real feelings for each other although Eva is the more hesitant of the two to do anything about those feelings. I liked how Jack put himself out there and how the pair worked things out at the Christmas Eve ball. Overall I loved this story and it was definitely my favorite in the collection.

This is a cute compilation of short sweet holiday reads. I enjoyed them all but the Scots are my favorite. You don't have to read the others in the series but it does aid to your overall enjoyment.

Of the 3 books I'd have to say #2 was the favorite. The rating is more of a 3.5 than a 4.0. In the first book you get to be reacquainted with the MacTaggert family. Just a peek into their lives now. While Jane and Brennan figure out that they make a good couple, we get to see how they do it! I wasn't as fond of this one because I'm more along the lines of reading about the young and handsome couple, no the older ones. The 2nd story was better, I enjoyed Isabelle and Gate and how he realized he was in love. I didn't like that it was so easy for her to not quite be a lady. It seems as the stories progressed, they were getting more lax!
The 3rd story wasn't very good for my reading. The liberties a young miss took, she shouldn't eve know what they were no matter how to do them. Eva was more the aggressor vs Jack. Not really my cup of tea at all. Thank you for the advanced copy!

This is an anthology of 3 short stories, one of them, Great Scot, is a continuation of the Wild Wicked Highlanders series by Suzanne Enoch. I enjoyed the stories, but I'm not a big fan of short stories. I like the stories to be longer and more involved and not quick to be done. Still enjoyable stories by great authors and I would read again.
