I remember reading and reviewing this back in 2021 but going through my arc list, it seems that it did not save.

I can't remember much of it as it has been 2 years and I no longer have the file to review as it expired. I remember liking the art but not so much the story and it ended up being a slog to get through (the book is 700+ pages).

This graphic novel was a bit all over the place. The plot was just not really doing it for me but the art is gorgeous. I might give it a reread at some point to see if I feel differently but this felt very difficult to connect with.

Thank you to Michael Turner, Bill O'Neil, Jeph Loeb, J. T. Krul, Geoff Johns, Diamond Book Distributors, Aspen Comics, and Netgalley for a free copy of "Michael Turner Creations Softcover" for an honest review.

I have been a true to the depth of my soul lover of Michael Turner's art since my late teens, several decades ago now, and I couldn't help but jump at the chance to review another creation coming out with his name and those he'd worked closely with before he passed. I really, deeply appreciated the parts focusing on his history in the comics industry and the rise of Aspen Comics itself.

I was excited when the Kickstarter came together to make this tribute to Mr. Turner, and even more so when I saw it hit Netgalley pre-production. The art is still as gorgeous as ever, and I believe this will be a wonderful starting point for new fans as it will be a great memento for fans who've been here all along the way.

While the stories were fairly interesting overall, it suffered heavily from "Same Face Syndrome" one feminine, one masculine. Paired with a lot of basically naked women, even in situations where the lack of clothing or the tightness of what little they are wearing doesn't make sense.

I have to say it was a little stange to read. But I loved it a lot. the story, the plot, the characters it was so amazing. I have to say Ekos is my favorite but the whole thing so amazing and I hope there will be more to come.

The beginning was very confusing for me so I don't know if I missed some information in the story. As it went on it was good I really liked the characters and the whole idea which is what made me want to read this.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for a chance to read.
I recived an arc that only had 178/700 pages so I was very confused on what was going on in the story. The artwork is beautiful, yet the women wear really skimpy outfits.

An amazing labor of love. Provides backstory and history of Mike Turner's comics as well as Aspen's ascension to the realms of legends. For those familiar with his work and for those who are not, it will be a collector's item. You may find yourself combing through the stacks of yard sales, thrift shops and Amazon for back issues.

This creative journey of the late Michael Turner is such a nostalgic throwback as we get a collection of his works as a result of a very successful kickstater which into a 720 pages of art showcasing Fathom, Soulfire and Ekos – Turner’s most beloved works.

We also get interesting introduction about each work. It feels so nostalgic because as someone like me who grew up in the 90’s – I was able to witness the development of the art. I am not a comic connoisseur in any way but I have deep appreciation of it – the artistic concept, the story, the development of characters and of course its impact to a wider audience.

Turner’s works are rather provocative than what I’ve been used to reading. It is his style and I think it works well with majority of his target audience. “Fathom” and “Soulfire” in particular have great art and concept but they’re not actually as mindblowing, story-wise, which is my only gripe towards his works. In the scope of things, the visual feast is simply to die for.

Admittedly, I am more of a fan of Japanese manga back in the mid-90’s when I starter reading comics starting with the Dragon Ball, Yuyu Hakusho, Hunter X Hunter, and Naruto to name a few because they’re more accessible for me but I do love me some of his works that’s why when I opened Netgalley, and it’s featured on my Dashboard, I’ve requested for it right away. This is such a great tribute for his works which definitely withstood the test of time. It’s delightful and a very solid buy for fans.

A selection from a larger work, but it gave a feel for the depth (no pun intended) of the stories covered in this volume. There are four artists that I associate with the 90s:Lee, Liefeld, McFarlane, and Turner. His style of hard lines, loooooooooooong legs, inability to realistically draw feet, and gorgeous faces fits in with and is classic to that era of comics. The characters were fun to revisit, and it was refreshing to go back and see so much art from that period.
