Oh, which to choose? They are all so irresistably cute designs! All 20 of them! You'll be dying to try one of each. Anyone who is "craft-crazy" will find these designs a breeze. The novice 'crafter' will be well guided through each project as step-by-step diagams, pictures and write-ups combine to give excellent tutelage from first to last punched stitches.

Ok the title and cover really piqued my interest on this one. Punch needle is an interesting craft and I happen to love giraffes so a win for me.
What did I like? This is a cute beginner book with cute animal hoop projects. Cat, dog, bear, giraffe…. You get the gist. Step by step instructions with materials. While I love to look at craft books I have to admit I’m not that crafty. This book did give me hope though that one day I could finish a project of my own.
Would I recommend or buy? If you love the cover then this book may be for you. I’d love a copy! If your interested in punch needle hoop projects or a beginner book then I recommend this one. Cute idea! I enjoyed the peek!
I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

Very sweet book. Lots of photos, easy to understand instructions. They are all animal faces like those on the cover. No projects (pillows, bags, etc.), just all the hanging hoop type. Recommended.
(I read a temporary digital ARC of this book via NetGalley)

Wow what a fabulous book. Needle punch has been around for a long time, and once one understand the process and have the tools, it is a very easy craft. What pull this book out of the old craft category is the adaptation that it has been put to. The designs are fabulous, with portraits of many both cute and charming animals. Punch needle creates texture and the little horse with its flowing mane is outstanding, as is King Charles spaniel and the koala. There are many others, a llama, a sloth, foxes, pandas and many more fabulous faces to needle punch. Wonderful gifts, use of that spare ball of wool or to create a unique creation.
Patterns, instruction and full color photos are included in this wonderful book

I have wanted to learn punch needle for a few months (more ways to work through the yarn stash). This book is a very gentle beginner guide. The instructions are clear, the progress photos are great. I successfully did my first project!! My only qualm is that all of the projects are very gentle sweet animals, so they all feel ideal for a baby room as a finished object. As I am just starting out, this isn't a big problem, I can make these simple designs for practice. But if you don't have a bunch of small children in your life, you'll be able to get a lot from the general techniques but soon be on your own for pattern inspiration.

I have never needle punched before so received an arc of this title to see what it was all about. This book has cute patterns while also being very informative for beginners who have never worked with the tools before. The techniques used are explained well in both text and the pictures that accompany them. I am very excited to learn more about this craft and try it for myself!

This wonderful book is good for anyone who is interested in learning punch needle art. I have had an interest in learning this craft after seeing examples on social media and this book answered all my questions on how to start. This book has simple to follow steps and techniques that can be used to do any design the artist has in mind. I recommend this book as a holiday gift to the artist in your life with any skill level.

Punch Needle Friends was a little disappointing to me. I didn't think it gave enough information on how to actually perform punch needling, and I would have like to seen more recommendations for the types of specific products to use. The designs are very cute, but I felt like it was lacking. Maybe different sizes and more complex designs. I think this would be a fine book for someone looking for nice, simple animal patterns, but it could be so much more in my opinion.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.

A somewhat disappointing book. While the designs are cute, they pretty much all look the same. The general instructions use only one brand of needle, even though there are many brands out there. In addition, they don't include important details that make for success. They use only two types of yarn, neglecting the many options for thread/yarn. Even with this limited selection of yarns, they do not include any guidance on what kinds of yarn work best, something that is critical for success.
Unless you are madly in love with the cover picture and want to make more animals that look like it, pass this book up.

Easy to follow instructions, plenty of photos and cute patterns - can't wait to try the punch needle sloth!
