I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This one was great, super relatable and fun. Loved their banter and seeing their culture. And the paintball!!

While very cute, I don't necessarily think this one was for me. However, I do think this is a cute contemporary novel that will do well with a lot of romance readers, and we are also excited to see more diverse couples and cultures featured in mainstream romances.

Zara and Jay are amazing! I love their banter, romance and friendship. It’s so well done, perfectly written and lovely. So funny and sweet.

I overall thought this was a super fun read! Was Zara dramatic and at times a little crazy? Yes! but I also think that is why she balanced Jay out so well and I truly was hooked on this quirkily albeit somewhat unlikely romance. This was a super fun read for me that had me quite literally giggling and kicking my feet.

This is the third book of a series and I actually didn't know it it was a sequel or just another book that is somehow connected with the previous ones but with different main characters, so at first I was kinda confused.
But it turned out to be a funny and wholesome rom-com.

Grumpy-sunshine trope, a lot of tension, what you say girl?!

Zara was a really fantastic character, but .Jay is her opposite. I connected with them easily, even though the story was kinda ridiculous but in a good way.

Sincerily, this is not my favourite rom-com at all, actually I could say that follows the typical line, and again we find the miscommunication that is the trope that I most hate, but it was enjoyble for me.

I recommend it if you want to read something short and funny.

Absolutely loved!

Zara and Jay’s story was a delight from start to finish–their meet-not-even-remotely-cute (she shot him with a paintball! On his butt! And oh, did I mention they were on the same team? You knew from the minute he stepped onto the page that she was going to give him a run for his money–and be exactly what he needed) had me cackling out loud, and the epilogue practically had me swooning out of my chair. Seriously, this one put me through the wringer, and I loved every minute of it!

Truly, you may want to consider how comfortable you feel reading this one in public–I lost count of how many times I LOLed, and let’s not even talk about the snort-laughing…

The Singles Table is an opposites-attract, grumpy sunshine pairing with a hint of enemies to lovers at the start–if any of those are your catnip, then run, do not walk to pick this one up!

This book is the third in Ms Desai’s The Marriage Game series, and it worked just fine as a standalone. If you’re anything like me, though, you’ll love the world she’s created here so much you’ll probably have the first two on your TBR before you even get to chapter 2 of this one.

As an aside: all I want for next October is to binge watch all of the movies in the series that include Day of the Night of the Evening of the Revenge of the Bride of the son of the Terror of the Return of the Attack of the Alien, Mutant, Evil, Hellbound, Flesh-Eating, Rotting Corpse Living Dead: in Shocking 4-D (hopefully that one's up to parts 7 and 8 already) and Zombies in Paradise 6: Return of the Day of the Night of the Living Undead Bangkok Dancing Mutant Zombie Chicken Loving Strippers: in Glorious 4-D (and of course the 5 before it). Is that too much to ask? ;)

Love love loved this one! This was my second Sara Desai and I reallllly enjoyed it! Zara the MC was so likeable and the good kind of chaotic, I want to be friends with her! Her obsession with famous people was hilarious. Jay was the perfect hot grump. I enjoyed the Bay Area setting, the family and friendship storylines, thought the more serious subject matter storylines were handled with care and the story in general made me laugh out loud multiple times. This book is very spicy - which I enjoy!

4 Stars!

This was such a fun read and clearly I go to the wrong types of weddings!

Adorable, funny, and full of love. I adored their story and was so happy to read their ending. They were so back and forth for much of the story that their eventual collision was explosive!

Two ridiculously attractive people, one a talented lawyer who brings drama and excitement wherever she goes, the other a former air force pilot and head of his own security company who's super locked down and focused on his goals. So, naturally they're attracted to each other

She's warm, eager to take risks and kind of clumsy, while he's nursing PTSD nightmares from his last assignment. Sparks fly and though there are some hiccups along the way (commitment fears and self-deception), they fall hard for each other and of course get together. It's super silly, funny, and a nice diversion from daily life.

This multicultural rom-com had me laughing and swooning. She’s a bundle of vibrant energy and he’s a bit of an arrogant grump. But together their chemistry simply sizzles. I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion because the shenanigans were infectious. And the secondary cast of meddling Desi aunties boosted the humor and heart. This one was racier than the previous books. (follow up to The Marriage Game and The Dating Game)

I wanted to like this book so SO bad. It just fell short to me. I know that our Heroine is supposed to be quirky and funny, but I just found myself wishing she didn't ramble quite so much. I really felt like the Hero's C-PTSD was well developed and portrayed, as well as the steps he had to take to work on healing. I found I found her relationship trauma/abandonment issues (while extremely believable and valid) was solved almost with a snap of the fingers at the end. It felt rushed to me.

I ENJOYED THE DATING PLAN (BOOK 2) BUT DIDN'T PICK UP BOOK 1.
THIS IS GRUMPY VS SUNSHINE IF I HAVE
EVER READ IT. ALSO, SHOCKINGLY STEAMY.
LIKE WE'RE TALKING MULTIPLE STEAMY SCENES WITH DIRTY TALK AND SOME PUBLIC SEX SCENES. THE STORY ITSELF WAS A LITTLE BLEH FOR ME.
JUST WASNT ANYTHING SUPER SPECIAL.

Sara Desai has once again created a lovely romance, built on heart and learning to understand. I will probably read all of her books forever and The Singles Table is a standout

A delighful, fun romance between two opposites who definitely attract! Desai's writing is enjoyable and makes her novels unputdownable.

Was it OMG amazing, can't put it down, best book of the year? No. But it was perfectly pleasant and a good read between commitment books.

Zara loves playing matchmaker to others, but she's not as personally interested in finding love as she is in finding celebrity clients for her law firm. Jay isn't so interested in finding love either, but his mom is pushing him to find a match. When Zara and Jay meet at a bachelor party, they instantly rub each other the wrong way, but then they strike a deal: Zara will help Jay find his match if Jay introduces her to some of the celebrity clients from his security firm. But the more Zara tries to find out Jay's type, the more he realizes his best match may be right in front of him.

I absolutely love the wedding season setting and competitive matchmaking atmosphere! This is my first time reading a book in this series, and I was able to dive in without knowing anything about the first two books. Zara was a smart, funny, and somewhat chaotic protagonist who I loved cheering for throughout the book. Jay's hypermasculinity wasn't really my thing, but I really enjoyed Sara Desai's writing regardless.
