Quirky lawyer meets buttoned up business man in a funny, but predictable romance perfectly suited for summer wedding season reading

As soon as I saw that Sara Desai had released another book I knew I had to read it. Her books are just so much fun to read. I was a little disappointed that we didn't see any of the main characters from the previous books in this book, but the aunties were there (and they add a lot of fun). Thanks to NetGalley for the eArc!

Zara is an accident prone lawyer, she is over the top in every way, the life of every party she attends. Jay is very straight laced, he has his own security company, which he is attempting to take international, he doesn't have time for distractions. When these two meet up, there is immediate attraction, but they really don't seem to like each other! They strike a deal, Zara will help Jay find his "perfect match" if Jay will introduce her to some of his celebrity clients.

As with all of Sara's books, I thoroughly enjoyed this story! There were several instances that I literally laughed out loud!

Sara Desai truly has a gift for writing the most hilarious protagonists. I laughed so much reading this book!

Zara is a character written for all the folks who have ever been told they’re too much. Zara was funny, so caring and strong and refused to continue to conform to what society wanted her to be. When she meets Jay, someone so opposite from her the chemistry is immediate. I loved watching their relationship bloom and the banter was fab.

I felt like this book was a little more sexy than others. Even the banter from time to time was a little dirtier than before.

This book talks about combat PTSD and I love that Jay found the help he needed.

I enjoyed the story and appreciated the growth that the characters went through. It was predictable in a good way, and portions of the text had me in stitches.

A new Sara Desai book is always cause for celebration, and 'The Singles Table' more than lives up to the promise of the previous two Marriage Game series books. Although all of the books in the series so far have been along the enemies-to-lovers lines, this one definitely leans into the trope more than the previous two, with Zara and Jay very much getting off on the wrong foot while also being attracted to each other in a Mr. Darcy, you-annoy-me-but-I'm-definitely-fantasizing-about-you kind of way.

From there, we spin off into a delightful plot that, like the previous two books, weaves the leads' professional conflicts together with their personal attraction in a way that really makes you feel for them both, all with fantastic chemistry. Plus, the book does deal with serious topics (without getting into deep spoilers, the complexities of PTSD play a role) in a way that's neither too glossy nor too melodramatic. It really is the kind of smart, fun romance that never gets old!

Sara Desai knocks it out of the park again with this new book! I love this series so much and the Singles Table is an absolute treat. The chemistry between Zara and Jay was so fun and sweet. I laughed out loud at Zara's antics, but there are some tough issues tackled that were done in a thoughtful way.
