What a fun book this was to read. I enjoyed how Kitty set the ton on fire with her wit and her intelligence. She didn’t want to bow down to what was expected of her. It’s what she accomplished in life that left the people to bow down to her and respect. Giles was very proud of his love interest. His support in what Kitty challenged herself in the science world is what made that sweet romance blossom so well in the book. The dialogue was great between the characters. I understood what they were saying and where the story was going. The details was explained very well. The narrative was clear and to the point. The is a fast pace one. This page turner was a wonderful happily ever after romance.

This was a decent book. At times I felt the mystery part of the plot was so convoluted that it became hard to follow. Also, Kitty and Giles never spent much time together so it was hard to see the attraction between them.

This book, starts out a bit boring too much talk about science!

Miss Dell in love with science can't understand why she must marry, Lord Grayson, has been temporarily cut off by his father since he has chosen not wed. Miss Dell gets set up with Sir John who we later find out, from Lord Grayson is that he's an imposter trying to take revenge, because of something Miss Dell's grandfather did years ago.

Now this is the most boring historical romance novel I have ever read! There is zero romance, other than one kiss at the end. There is not any chemistry between the characters. It was so annoying when Lord Grayson was called a Dandy constantly.
Over all is expected much more from this book. It has so much potential.
Its like the author is ready to get this series over with it.
Its a dry romance, don't waste your time if you actually expect romance and chemistry between the two characters.

Another great addition to the Duke Pact series. Scholar Kitty and Rogue Giles have amazing chemistry and the story was both well-written and engrossing. I have enjoyed all of the books to date and highly recommend the entire series.
Thank you Kate Archer, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

The Rogue and the Scholar

Giles is a rogue. Could the scholar be the one to tame him? First, there is a mystery to solve, a plot to uncover, and a madman to thwart. In the beginning, I had trouble getting into this book, but then, the plot began to thicken, gradually. We began to uncover a disordered mind, determined on mayhem and mischief. Danger is afoot. Will the rogue and the scholar work together, or will they continue to resist the attraction? If you like clean Regency romance, you might enjoy this story.

Another delightful story in this series is about 6 dukes who make a pact to get their heirs married off. I loved the pacing and the witty dialogue. This book is not heavy on steam but it's not really a series I expect it from. Kitty and Lord Dell have nothing in common so it's nice to see them come together and fall in love. There's also a little bit of the absurd in this book but honestly, it added an extra element that made the book all that more unique.

A Clever lady and a Cavalier Lord.
If I have to be honest, the title sounds very ravishing but the romance scenes are barely here!
I took me by surprise! I thought it would be heavily on the smutty scenes.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the copy! Love Giles and Kitty (Why name a heroine as Kitty tho??)

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

After meeting in Newmarket at the races, Giles Dermot, Marquess of Grayson, has been in love with Miss Kitty Dell. But, she doesn't want anything to do with him. Grayson is one of the heirs in the Duke's pact, and a dandy and a rake. He doesn't care about books or scholarship - apart from Shakespeare - and hadn't even heard of the Royal Society, whereas Kitty is his exact opposite. Unlike other women, who've always fallen at his feet, Grayson has to work hard to convince her he is a good match, when she only want to discover the truth about the Veritas mystery plaguing the Royal Society. And when a more suitable suitor, Sir John Kullehamnd, steps into scene, Kitty might just be lost to Grayson. Will he be able to convince her he's the one, or will Sir John win Kitty?

I've really enjoyed all of the books in this series, but I will admit this has been my least favourite so far. I just found the hero, Grayson, to be too faffy and not suited to Kitty at all. There wasn't really that much chemistry there between the two of them, and though they grew on me before the ending, I wasn't hooked, or invested in their romance like I have been with the previous couples. The mystery that the Royal Society were focused on was fun, but very obvious who the culprit was. I never liked him from the get go, and was glad to see him get his comeuppance. The final chapters really made the book, and I was pleased to see the couple get together, as they deserved to be happy once they grew a little more. I am looking forward to the final book, but I hate Dalton the most, so don't know if I'll like seeing him as a hero - but there was a little glimpse at his heroine in this book, so we never know.

I enjoyed this story and continue to like the entire premise of the series. I don’t really want to go into particulars about the story as the blurb sums it up well. I will say this is not a series that focuses heavily on romance between the MCs and there is very little, if any, physical interactions (including kissing) between the MCs - both of these concepts in a book classified as Regency Romance are hard to understand. However, if you are looking for witty, satirical writing — this series is for you.

I really had a difficult time getting into this story. The characters weren't very likable or relatable in any way, and the plot was very slow moving. I made it about a third of the way through before I finally called it quits. I dislike doing that, rarely do so, but made the exception.

Kitty Dell is bookish but she knows she needs a season so she comes to london for just that. Giles Dermot, Marquis of Grayson meet Kitty before she came to london and is taken with her. Giles knows his father has made a pack with some of the other dukes to get their sons married but he's not one or so he thinks. Kitty is the one for him.

I am absolutely loving this series! Kate Archer thank you so much for this entertaining series!
Giles and Kitty were great together, and their road to HEA had some interesting twists and turns.

I can't wait to read Lord Dalton and Lord Burke's stories to complete the series.

The Dukes' Pact series is about ducal heirs whose elderly fathers are trying to pressure them into marrying and producing further heirs. Several bachelors have already succumbed and in The Peer's Roguish Word it's Lord Grayson's turn.

Miss Kitty Dell is fascinated with science and scientists; Lord Grayson is more into poetry, Shakespeare and impeccable clothing. On surface they don't have much in common but there is a mutual attraction. Sir John Kullehamnd is a rival of a more scientific bent. They all attend meetings of a science interested society that is currently looking for Veritas, a hoaxer who claims to have published a bogus paper that nobody suspected.

The mystery of the identity of Veritas does not stay a mystery for very long but it is rather obvious if you happen to speak Swedish. There is a creepy diary involved and unless I missed something it was never explained why it had such a creepy binding.

I enjoyed this and several of the previous books as well. If you're planning to read the entire series you might want to do it in order since this contains some spoilers for Lord Cabot's book.

My favorite thing about the book are the Shakespeare quotes.

I received a review copy from Netgalley and this is a voluntary review.

Love an educated young woman, Kitty Dell love ready and desires to be a part of the Royal Society for scientific discoveries. Giles Dermot, Marquess of Grayson, had ever heard of the Royal Society, but why would a beautiful young woman need to read books and she can be his newest conquest. Obviously she’s playing hard to get man what an ego! Kitty knows what she’s looking for him a husband, but she may find her taste keep leaning toward the debonair Lord Grayson. Giles’s father is part of the Duck pact who is trying to force their sons to marry, but Giles has no intention of marry for quite a while. A fun story to read as these two dance around each other, becoming more attracted to each other, and the Royal Society is threatened with a ruinous mystery they try to solve. I voluntarily read and reviewed this excellent book.

Well, it took me a while to like Kitty. She seemed so full of hersthat I wasn't sure I cared what happened to her. Grayson was charming the minute we met him. The story is quite interesting and involves an austere man, a scientific society and lots of interesting characters. No spoiler here, just pick up this book and enjoy the ride...maybe to Valhalla!!!

Opposites attract, and they are definitely opposite! Kitty is intellectual and scientific, Lord Grayson is only interested in his looks and how he is perceived and somehow they made a match. I found both characters a bit underwhelming but enjoyed the premise of the story.

I have not read the other books in this series, but I was still able to read this one with no problems. I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters were wonderful!

The Peer's Roguish Word by Kate Archer sees the fifth of the recalcitrant sons of those betting dukes, enamored enough to see the last, Lord Dalton, worried. For Lord Grayson, it started off as his annual, pick-a young-woman-and-go-for-it romance, which everyone expected. Kitty Dell saw herself as a blue stocking; more than that, her mind was of a scientific bent. She was looking for a man with whom she could share these interests and maybe even work together. She was certainly not looking for a man like Lord Grayson who was a dandy, and all together too much fun to be with and entertaining to talk to. Along came John, exactly what she needed, except he was so odd, and he did not set her heart aflutter. It was all extremely confusing, then add the mystery of Veritas to it and it was beyond perplexing.

Kitty was young and immature in many ways. Thankfully she had her mother looking out for her. Her mother recognized the need for two people to balance one another, rather than be of identical personalities. The baroness was riddled with common sense and took excellent care of her husband and children. Giles (lord Grayson) was not of a mind to marry, no matter what his father wanted. He did enjoy having fun, however, and Kitty was the perfect person with who to have some fun. They are very different personalities, although both were good, loving people, with many friends and acquaintances. The plot was a bit convoluted and basically spun around a mentally unbalanced man who felt like he needed to get revenge for crimes perpetrated on someone he didn't even know. It was an interesting read, although not as good as come of the earlier in the series. I enjoyed watching them both struggle with their feelings. It was a good read.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of The Peer's Roguish Word by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #thepeersroguishword

Kitty was having her first season in London and looking forward finding a husband. The problem was she had interest that most women did not and hope to find someone with her same interest.

Giles, Lord Grayson had his sights set on Kitty, having seen her before. The only problem it seemed was his usual charming manner was not taking hold! She was more interested in the gentlemen tied to the Royal Society, who in his opinion were exceedingly boring.

But Giles was determined to win her and he will do what he must. What fun to watch him try!

Having read the previous books in this series, I was interested in knowing how Giles Dermot, the Marquess of Grayson would be entrapped by the wiley Cupid, seeing as he has so vehemently stood against the marriage of his friends. Miss Kitty Dell is quite beautiful and has a penchant for the more luxurious things in life, but she is also highly intelligent and has an enquiring mind. Certainly, Giles Dermot does not belong in her orbit at all. Giles is known as a flirt and playing the field, but there is one woman who not only resists his pretty compliments but slaps him down too. Most men would step away, but not Giles. His fiercely competitive spirit determines that he must win at all costs, not realizing that he is stepping straight into the love trap. I found this novel engrossing with a mystery to be solved and was delighted that Giles eventually proved his worth. The last chapter in the book is particularly entertaining and I found myself laughing out loud. I cannot wait to find out what this author has in store for the diabolical last man standing and whether the elderly Dukes will get their way. They really do deserve to have the tables turned on them. I received a copy of this romance from Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
